Magnolia Pictures is giving the action thriller Red Right Hand a theatrical and VOD release today, February 23rd, and to mark the occasion we have been given an Exclusive clip from the film! “Everyone Is Doing Great” will continue. A second season of the dark comedy, created by James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, is currently in production in California and North Carolina. Season 1, which was first distributed by Hulu (U.S.) in January 2021 and later Paramount+ (international), was independently produced. Fifth Season (previously as Endeavor Content) represented the sale. The eight-episode second season was also independently produced and is seeking distribution.

The series follows former co-stars Jeremy (Lafferty), Andrea (Alexandra Park), Seth (Stephen Colletti) and Izzy (Cariba Heine), whose lives continue to intertwine years after the end of a successful TV show, as they grapple with the fallout of love, loss and fame.

Their journey will continue in the second season with the return of Sean Carrigan, Karissa Lee Staples, Aparna Brielle and Tom Fugedi, among others. Guest stars in Season 2 include Jamie Chung, Phoenix Washington, Bryan Greenberg, Jessica McNamee, Rhys Wakefield, Merritt Patterson and Aaron Staton.

“Everyone Is Doing Great,” the comedy created by “One Tree Hill” alumni James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, is heading to Paramount Plus outside the U.S.

The ViacomCBS-backed SVOD has picked up streaming rights to the eight-part Hulu series for the Nordics and Latin America — a deal that marks the show’s first international sale. Endeavor Content is handling the U.S. and international sales.

The comedy rolls out in the Nordics from Thursday, while the Latin America premiere will come later this year. “Everyone Is Doing Great” launched in January on Hulu.

Written and produced by Lafferty and Colletti, the series follows actors Seth (Colletti) and Jeremy (Lafferty), who together enjoyed the success of hit television vampire drama “Eternal” and, five years after their show has wrapped, continue to lean on each other to navigate their professional and personal lives.

Exclusive: Hulu has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the comedy Everyone Is Doing Great which was created by One Tree Hill alums James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti. All eight half-hour episodes will premiere on the streamer on January 13, 2021. The first teaser can be watched above.

Written and produced by Lafferty (who can be seen in Disney+’s The Right Stuff) and Colletti (who appeared in Hit the Floor), the series was crowdfunded after the first two episodes hit the festival circuit starting with its big debut at the Atx Television Festival in 2018 (read Deadline’s interview with them from the fest here). The comedy follows Seth (Colletti) and Jeremy (Lafferty), who enjoyed the success of Eternal, a hit television vampire drama. Saban Films has acquired the U.S. rights to “Fatman,” a dark comedy and action film that stars Mel Gibson as Santa Claus and Walton Goggins as an assassin sent to kill him, the distributor announced Wednesday.

“Fatman” comes from writers and directors Eshom and Ian Nelms and centers on an unorthodox hitman who is hired by a precocious 12-year-old to assassinate Santa Claus after he received a lump of coal in his Christmas stocking. The film also stars Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Saban Films will announce release plans for “Fatman” at a later date.

Exclusive: Walton Goggins has been cast as a lead in Fatman, the dark action comedy that stars Mel Gibson, who is playing Santa Claus. The casting reunites Goggins again with Rough House Pictures, which produced HBO’s Vice Principals, produces the current The Righteous Gemstones, and which is producing Fatman.

The film, originally launched at the Cannes market last spring, has also added Todd Courtney of Mammoth Entertainment to the producing team, with Mammoth now set to finance alongside Ingenious Media. The Nelm Brothers (Small Town Crime) are directing based on their original screenplay. Production is underway in Canada.

As the saying goes, “When the legend becomes truth, print the legend.” That seems to be the philosophy of this highly dramatized biography on the life of martial arts icon Bruce Lee. The title says it all. This is The Legend of Bruce Lee, not the true story of Bruce Lee.

There are factual details here, to be sure. Almost everything depicted in the film is loosely based on true events of Lee’s life but with heavy alterations. The timeline of events has been altered for the sake of the plot. Facts are twisted for dramatic effect. The fight scenes are stylized in true cinematic fashion. An evil rival known as “Yellow Skin” is introduced as a lifelong nemesis who features heavily in all the key moments of Lee’s life. Despite this being the story of a real person, none of it feels authentic.

As the immensely successful spoof Vampires Suck heads into its third weekend of release, many people have started to wonder if this directorial team even exists. Or if they are pseudonyms not unlike Alan Smithee, used by the studio as decoys to cover up the fact that no one is actually directing these lucrative, yet artistically questionable endevors.

Sure, there are a couple photos floating around of these two men hard at work on set, but its just two photos! Couldn't they be hired actors pretending to be Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer? This dubious duo never grants interviews. They're never seen in public. No one really knows about their creative process. And they're hardly ever mentioned as Hollywood power players, especially by the folks who have worked with them in the past.

As predicted last week the buddy-cop comedy The Other Guys was knocked out of the number one spot by the testosterone-filled action movie The Expendables after only one week on top of the box office charts. But with five new films entering the charts this week including the remake of the classic horror film Piranha 3D, the family film Nanny McPhee Returns, and the comedies Lottery Ticket, Vampires Suck and The Switch, Stallone and his boys had their hands full defending the number one position but came up on top for a second week in a row.
