Tiaqua Howard

Tiaqua Howard (pronounced Tee-Aqua) is a writer, director, and producer hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan. After relocating to California in 2014 with her 5 month old son, she soon discovered her true passion for storytelling and pivoted from majoring in psychology to pursue a creative career. Initially exploring acting and music, Tiaqua eventually found her calling in screenwriting, producing, and directing. In 2022, she completed her debut short film, The Untouchable Prey, a supernatural thriller about a clairvoyant woman outsmarting a crime lord and his hitmen.

Tiaqua is a passionate advocate for portraying Black female leads with depth, complexity, and authenticity, seeking to tell stories that evoke nostalgia and anemoia while breaking away from harmful stereotypes. Dedicated to representing the underrepresented, Tiaqua's unique perspective adds an essential layer to today's evolving film landscape.
