Exclusive: We hear that four holiday movies have received HBO Max release dates as of Wednesday: Legendary’s Christmas Story sequel, A Christmas Story Christmas for November 17 this year, and three yuletide titles from Esx Entertainment: Holiday Harmony and A Christmas Mystery both on November 24 and A Hollywood Christmas on December 1.

A Christmas Story Christmas from director Clay Kaytis and producers Irwin Zwilling, Marc Toberoff, Cale Boyter, Jay Ashenfelter, Peter Billingsley and Vince Vaughn follows Ralphie, who is all grown up now. He must deal with Christmas and all that comes with it, this time as a dad. Peter Billingsley reprises his role as Ralphie. Erinn Hayes, Julianna Layne, River Drosche, Rd Robb and Scott Schwartz along with Zack Ward and Julie Hagerty also star.

Seth Coltan knows how to lose friends and alienate people. At least, he lost agents and alienated casting directors in his first few years auditioning in Los Angeles, when he thought being pushy, dishonest, and offensive were the best ways to get noticed.The actor says he eventually realized he "was doing everything wrong" as an intern for casting directors Nan Dutton and Scott David. He quickly learned about proper audition etiquette, the value of professionalism, and the importance of the relationships between casting directors, actors, and agents."Casting directors and actors really are on the same team," Coltan says. "Casting directors are rooting for the actors."Now more experienced and self-aware, Coltan can find humor in the often awkward and uncomfortable situations he got himself into as a young actor. He has turned his horrible audition mistakes into funny sketches for "obSETHed," a web series he created. He even recruited casting directors.

Situational comedy is, by nature, a formulaic storytelling medium. It derives its humor from the mechanism of an “everyman” protagonist pushing against the outlandish circumstances that surround him or her. Peas in a Pod does a thorough job of following this formula to the letter, which is unfortunate. It’s not because the formula is broken, but rather because the show lacks the necessary substance to make it work. Peas‘ biggest flaw lies not in execution but rather in concept. A situational comedy rarely if ever outgrows the quality of its situation, which is why Peas in a Pod’s premise of “three siblings move into a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment” does far more to hinder the show’s development than the directing, acting, or production ever could. The protagonist of Peas is a familiar character: the weary older brother who exasperatedly tries to keep his inconsiderate family from imploding.
