Exclusive: Writer Nell Scovell (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and former NBCUniversal content chief Susan Rovner are developing the new series The Fishbowl with CBS Studios for CBS, sources tell Deadline.

The drama is a procedural about a brilliant medical examiner overseeing a private room at the Manhattan morgue that investigates New York City’s weirdest deaths, we hear.

Scovell created the series and will executive produce with Susan Rovner through her newly minted Aha Studios banner. CBS Studios is producing.

The Fishbowl marks Scovell’s second procedural pilot for CBS. The first, Without a Clue, starred Gary Cole, Busy Phillips and Marisa Coughlan, but did not move forward to series. She also worked as a consulting producer on NCIS. Scovell is a WGA-nominated writer who is best known as the creator and showrunner of ABC’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch and has written for David Letterman, The Simpsons, Charmed and The Muppets.

We live during a time where every single aspect of our daily existence can be documented on Social Media. There are celebrities who are only famous for being famous, or through being an “influencer” on sites like Instagram. Criminals are even caught because they brag about their crimes on Social Media. So, seeing a film like Infamous try and take that to its cinematic extreme, makes sense. Now, the flick itself is fairly mediocre, but the idea at its core is a solid one. With better execution, this could have been something. Instead, it’s just another forgettable effort that can’t live up to its initial promise. The movie is a crime tale, taking some of its cues from Bonnie and Clyde. Here, Arielle (Bella Thorne) is a resident of a small Florida town, yearning for more. She has a tough home life, vacuous friends, and a menial job at a diner.

We are getting closer, it seems, to movie theaters attempting to reopen again. It's still hard to know what that might look like, and quite a few people may not be ready to head back out to a theater again just yet. So, for the time being, we are still left with what is available to stream from the comfort of home. Luckily, there is no shortage of options this week.

Vertical Entertainment has released the first trailer for Bella Thorne's Infamous. Thorne stars alongside Jake Manley as they're characters go viral for committing crimes across the country. The movie has been described as a social media thriller with some Bonnie and Clyde vibes. Infamous will skip theaters and premiere Digitally and on VOD starting on June 12th.

Infamous stars Bella Thorne as Arielle, who is a down on her luck dreamer, longing for popularity. Dean (Jake Manley) is an ex-con working for his abusive father. The two have an instant connection, but after the accidental death of Dean's father, they are forced on the run. In today’s film news roundup, Steve Coogan will receive the Charlie Chaplin award, Aaron Eckhart and Marisa Coughlan get cast and Swiss thriller “The Innocent” gets a Us release.

Steve Coogan has been selected as the recipient of the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles.

He joins previously announced honoree Jane Fonda, who will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, and Jackie Chan, who will receive the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment. The awards will be presented on Oct. 25 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The CW is developing a drama series that hails from writers Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey.

Titled “No Hard Feelings,” the project is described as a dark comedy about a group of friends who conspire to exact revenge on an old rival who assaulted one of their own and got away with it back in college.

Reddout and Hickey will also executive produce in addition to writing. Brad Silberling will also executive produce. CBS Television Studios will produce.

Reddout and Hickey previously worked together on shows like ABC’s revival of “The Muppets,” the “Black-ish” spinoff “Grown-ish,” and the CBS multi-cam comedy “Man With a Plan.” They also both currently work as producers on NBC’s revival of “Will & Grace.” They are repped by Paradigm and Jackoway Tyerman.

Written by “Super Troopers 2” alum Marisa Coughlan (pictured above), the series centers on a woman who made a deal with the devil to remain young for 50 years and has spent her half-century of youth living carelessly.

Here’s the official logline for the series: “In this poignantly comedic spin on ‘The Portrait of Dorian Gray’ a woman who made a deal with the devil 50 years ago to remain young has spent the subsequent decades living selfishly and without consequences. As the downsides of eternal youth finally land on her, Dorian is ready to grow up and age gracefully, but, to do so, she’ll have to make amends for half a century of bad behavior.”

Fox Searchlight has released a pair of television spots for the upcoming comedy, Super Troopers 2. The shenanigan-filled marketing materials, which include two TV spots and a spiffy new one-sheet poster, feature almost entirely new footage in our first good look a the film since the most recent trailer for the film dropped back in January.

The trailer gives us our first full look at the plot of the film, which features Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar), Foster (Paul Soter), Mac (Steve Lemme), Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske), and Farva (Kevin Heffernan) all returning to settle a border dispute that arises between our heroes and some nearby canadian mounties. My wait for one of my favorite movies to get a sequel is almost over and after a little teaser we now get a full on trailer for Super Troopers 2.

I’ve waited a few years for this but I have to tell you the last few months are killing me. However, this trailer is just the shot of funny I need to take the edge off. Please folks laugh out loud with me at the brand new trailer for those funny dudes from Broken Lizard Super Troopers 2.

Well now we know a little more about the plot. And we all know Canadian stereotypes make any movie funnier. I’m being told by my editor that they don’t, guess I’m in the minoroty and should stop talking as I type. Official synopsis reads.

The film–which was crowdfunded through an extremely successful indiegogo campaign–comes out 17 years after the release of the original ‘Super Troopers’. During that time, the original film has achieved cult status, so to say that fans of the original (such as myself) are excited for the sequel is an understatement. Although the trailer itself does seem to pander to the audience of the original a little too much, it’s to be expected since the film was literally...

When the opening sequence of the new trailer for Super Troopers 2 involves Farva shooting and killing a bald eagle with a rifle and then expecting to win something for the deed, it's a good bet that the sequel will remain true to its original: jokes and characters are the focus over plot.

Fans of Broken Lizard can now mark their calendars as the comedy troupe’s next big screen adventure, Super Troopers 2, is set to be released April 20, 2018. The guys haven’t been seen together in a film since 2009’s The Slammin’ Salmon, in which the usual crew played waiters and chefs. The Original Super Troopers was released 15 years ago and became a cult classic with the ridiculous antics of some not so law-abiding law enforcement officers.

A minute-long teaser for Super Troopers 2 was released today, and from the looks of it, fans are in store for more of what made the first movie great. We see what looks to be some more shenanigans from the guys, as Rabbit, the rookie from the first film who was endlessly hazed, is tied down to a table and the rest of the guys seem to be dead set on helping him out with some manscaping.

It's been 15 long years, but we finally have the first teaser trailer for Broken Lizard's Super Troopers 2 and it's amazing. It was recently announced that the movie will come out on April 20th, 2018 and ever since then, fans have been clamoring for some footage of the sequel and though it's short, the clip does not disappoint. There's some nods to familiar gags, but they don't seem like a rehash at all, which is smart and a good sign for the rest of the movie.

Steve Lemme who played Mac in the first Super Troopers had teased during a recent interview that the film would come in “springtime and there’s a very obvious date, which happens to fall on a Friday this year.” Well he sure wasn't kidding. The much anticipated sequel will see Mac, Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar), Foster (Paul Soter), Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske), and Farva (Kevin Heffernan) called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in an area at the center of a border dispute between the U.S. and Canada. “Unconventional police work” will follow.

It has now been officially announced. Super Troopers 2 has a release date of April 20th, 2018, and we have a sneak peek into what the highly anticipated sequel is going to be about. Rumblings of the release date appeared earlier this week when actor and Broken Lizard founding member Steve Lemme (Mac) revealed that Super Troopers 2 had an obvious release date on a Friday in the spring. That coy comment instantly gave away the 4/20 release date, but now Fox Searchlight has confirmed the news.

Super Troopers 2 will take place on the Border between the United States and Canada and will pit the boys up against a border dispute this time around. The official synopsis reads.

“Super Troopers 2” has been edited and even screened for test audiences, which means that eager fans of the original are essentially just waiting for a release date at this point. Looks like the Lizards have made space in their ranks for one more – Deadline reports that How to Be a Latin Lover star Rob Lowe has climbed aboard cop comedy sequel, Super Troopers 2.

After lensing late last year, it’s unclear if Jay Chandrasekhar’s long-anticipated follow-up is still shooting last-minute scenes or, in the more likely scenario, have now set up shop in Boston to capture some additional material. Either way, Lowe is along for the ride, and is attached to the part of play Guy Le Franc, a “former hockey player and the current mayor of a Quebec Canadian border town.”

Plot details are still being kept under lock and key for the crowdfunding darling, after Super Troopers 2 blew past all expectations to secure $4.5 million, comfortably surpassing the initial goal of $2 million. Such success hasn’t gone unnoticed either, after Fox Searchlight swooped in to pick up North American distribution rights.

NBC is working on a new sitcom channeling the world of Peter Pan. The network is developing a 30-minute comedy following the famous characters of the J.M. Barrie tale, Wendy and Peter. Ahead of this year's upcoming "Peter Pan" live musical broadcast, NBC has picked up the rights to the Peter Pan-inspired single camera comedy "Wendy and Peter" from Le Train Train and Warner Brothers TV.

Loosely inspired by J.M. Barrie's work, the workplace romantic comedy unfolds from the viewpoint of a woman who wants to find love with a real man, but finds herself falling for Peter who refuses to fully embrace adulthood.

Marisa Coughlan will write the script and will executive produce alongside Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that in addition to its live-action "Peter Pan" musical, the network also has a script commitment for "Wendy and Peter," a modern-day retelling of the Wendy/Peter love story — done as a sitcom. The show will be a single-camera workplace/romantic comedy told from the perspective of Wendy. EW reports it will center “on a woman hoping to find love with a real man, but who finds herself falling for Peter, a guy who’s just not quite ready to grow up.” No word on whether either character will ever fly to the break room for coffee or have a dastardly boss named Mr. Hook. The series is said to be inspired by the life of writer and executive producer Marisa Coughlan. Sitcom vets Will McCormack ("Will & Grace") and Rashida Jones ("Parks and Recreation") will also executive produce.

Annoying robots make their presence known as well, only seeming to make matters worse.

Jack Plotnick - the actor known for playing the deputy mayor in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a Red John suspect in The Mentalist - has directed Space Station 76, in addition to working on the screenplay with a team of writers.

The ensemble cast includes Jerry O'Connell, Kali Rocha and Marisa Coughlan. Space Station 76 opens later this year.
