Normally, we choose to spotlight the five best comic books of each week. But every so often, a week comes along that is so full of glorious titles and releases that it’s impossible to only choose five issues. This is one of those times.

Each of the comics on this list either teases a new future for someone, shows the growth of a character, features something amazing happening, or a moment simply occurs that changes everything throughout its respective universe. It’s a heck of a way to continue the final month of new comic books and there are still two weeks of new comics left.

So, let’s get right into it with the pick of the week and it’s not from Marvel or DC.

Dogs in Space will not continue its journeys on Netflix. The streaming service has cancelled the action-adventure animated series for kids after two seasons. The final episodes were released in September 2022.

The Dogs in Space series stars Haley Joel Osment, Sarah Chalke, Kimiko Glenn, Chris Parnell, David Lopez, William Jackson Harper, Debra Wilson, and Stephanie Beatriz. The story follows the adventures of canines Garbage, Stella, and Ed as they travel through space, looking for a new home for the human race. The series consists of 20 total episodes.

New post-Return of the Jedi comics from Marvel are coming in October. The current era of canonical Star Wars comics is set to end with Star Wars #50 and Darth Vader #50. A new Ewoks series is also set after Return of the Jedi, including a "caravan of carnage".

Marvel Comics and Star Wars have officially announced a brand-new era of storytelling for the galaxy far, far away with new comics set after Return of the Jedi. Since 2020, most of Marvel's canonical comics have been set in the aftermath of The Empire Strikes Back and just before the final movie in the original trilogy. Now, Marvel is preparing to bring this current era to a close before launching new tales in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Endor.

Comic book writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist David López were co-pilots on Captain Marvel, the comic book series that revamped Carol Danvers for the 21st century. It was so influential that it even helped convince Oscar-winner Brie Larson to star in the Marvel Studios film of the same name.

So it’s only fitting that DeConnick and López’s first work together in years has an origin story dating back to the March 2019 premiere of the movie adaptation. The duo were in Los Angeles for the film’s debut, and over a dinner, López suggested they should work on an original, creator-owned comic.

Five years (and a few abandoned ideas) later, the seeds planted at that dinner are now a reality. The duo is teaming for Fml, an eight-issue comic from Dark Horse due out in November.

The "Pale Driver" is a terrifying Gotham villain introduced in Legends of the Dark Knight #18 who struck fear in the hearts of Gotham's other criminals, before being locked away in Arkham by Batman, never to return. Despite initially working for Penguin, the Pale Driver quickly sought control of Gotham City, even targeting Penguin himself, before being taken down by the Caped Crusader. This one-off character has the potential for a dramatic return, as he could be one of the most exciting horror-based Batman rogues haunting Gotham City.

Batman has fought tons of terrifying enemies over the years, but one of his scariest enemies is someone no one remembers. The "Pale Driver" was a man hired by the Penguin to take out rival criminals, but he quickly became a force far too terrifying for anyone to control – which is exactly why DC needs to bring him back.

Maxwell Lord's control over Superman in Wonder Woman #219 showcases a new level of villainy that even Lex Luthor has not been able to achieve. Unlike Lex Luthor, Maxwell Lord opts to control Superman rather than destroy him, using him as a powerful weapon against his enemies. Wonder Woman's traditional stereotype as a strong yet gracious warrior is not entirely accurate - she has always had a dark side. Wonder Woman is willing to kill villains if it means saving lives, as she believes it is her duty as a hero. While she believes in the rule of law, Wonder Woman has her own ways of permanently dealing with criminals who are too powerful for the justice system.

While Wonder Woman is commonly depicted as DC's hard-hitting warrior with an immaculate sense of compassion, there's a limit to the traditional wholesomeness she usually brings to a fight. Madrid, Aug 27 (Ians) Sevilla’s disastrous start to the season continued on Saturday as the Europa League champions were stunned by Girona 2-1 at home.

Yangel Herrera put an impressive Girona side ahead in the 16th minute when he hammered home a loose ball after Sevilla failed to clear a corner, reports Xinhua.

Nemanja Gudelj leveled for Sevilla on the stroke of halftime as he controlled a clearance from a corner and volleyed home, but Aleix Garcia put Girona ahead 10 minutes into the second half with a good finish from a right cross.

The Marvels star Brie Larson recently confessed she wasn't fond of the cat who portrayed Goose in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

Larson explained why she failed to bond with Nemo and Tango, the feline performers who play cat-like Flerken Goose in The Marvels, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I'm still allergic [to cats]," she said. "I hope that changes. But until it does, a lot of the CGI budget goes towards me and the cat." However, Larson's co-stars were big fans of Nemo and Tango, according to executive producer Mary Livanos. "The crew was delighted whenever the kittens were around," Livanos recalled. "It was like Christmas when we had our bigger kitten scenes. Everyone had their own favorite."

One overlooked facet of the Giles character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is his Ripper persona, but it reveals a darkness hiding deep inside him. Madrid, Oct 24 (Ians) Fc Barcelona remain three points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga after a 4-0 win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night.

One of Barca’s best performances of the season coincided with Bilbao’s worst as Barca led 3-0 at the break thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s 12th-minute header, followed by Sergi Roberto’s 18th-minute shot, which took a slight deflection to lift it over Athletic keeper Unai Simon.

Robert Lewandowski added a third in the 22nd minute and Bilbao weren’t helped by Ander Herrera limping off injured, reports Xinhua.

Herrera’s replacement Dani Garcia also had to go off injured in what was a relatively tepid second half which saw Ferran Torres score Barca’s fourth following a pass from Dembele.

Atletico Madrid moved third after a 2-1 win away to Real Betis thanks to two goals from Antoine Griezmann.

Fc Barcelona scored three second-half goals to decide a game that was looking evenly balanced at 1-1 away to Real Sociedad, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen making some vital saves to stop Barca from going behind.

All of that changed with the entry of Ansu Fati into the game, as the youngster provided two assists and scored himself as Barca ran out 4-1 winners.

Fati has endured two terrible years with knee and muscle injuries and it’s hard to believe he is still just 19 years old, but once again he showed his enormous talent.

Much has been made of Barca’s transfer business this summer, but if Fati stays fit, he will be the player who makes the difference.

Leah Remini is opening up about how her longtime pal Jennifer Lopez fits into her fight against the Church of Scientology.

The actress, 47, walked away from the controversial religion in 2013. Her husband Angelo Pagán, 59, daughter Sofia, 13, and mother Vicki left with her, but Remini says many who leave Scientology have had family members who stay within the church feel forced to “disconnect” from them.

The church says no one is forced to cut contact, and disconnection is a choice.

The character debuted in "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace", portrayed by Ray Park and voiced by Peter Serafinowicz, as well as appearing in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars Rebels", voiced by Samuel Witwer.

With superheroes dominating the box office and ruling the airwaves these days, it comes as no surprise that a fair percentage of people being exposed to such characters via live action offerings will become curious and check out the source material. What may intimidate them, however, is where to start reading due to years of comic book continuity having been piled up.

Something I’ve often done is recommend that people check out their local libraries, where they can sample a multitude of definitive graphic novels for free. And, should you elect to do so, you’ll likely find one of several Marvel series to be recently recognized by the Young Adult Library Services Association (Yalsa) such as Star Wars, All-New Wolverine or The Vision.

That’s right, Yalsa have added 17 Marvel graphic novels to this...

Six of the world’s biggest Vine stars are slated to hit the road for a comedy tour dubbed Team Internet Live. The sketch show, which is being produced in the vein SNL and Mad TV, will also feature digital shorts and musical acts. It kicks off on Oct. 2 in Los Angeles.

Team Internet Live is being produced by Collab -- a digital studio that reps creators on Vine, YouTube, and beyond. Featured performers -- who count a combined 30 million followers across all social platforms -- include Darius Benson, David Lopez, J. Cyrus, Manon Mathews, Ry Doon, and Vincent Marcus.

Marvel Studios dropped a ton of big news recently at San Diego Comic-Con, including a bunch of Black Panther news, and the identity of Kurt Russell in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Even with that, there is no question that the biggest announcement they made was finally confirming that Oscar winner Brie Larson is indeed playing Captain Marvel. Even though the movie doesn't come out for a couple of years, the actress has already taken to the role, as she recently revealed she is already studying up.

The actress took to her Twitter account to reveal that she is digging into the source material for her role as Captain Marvel. The photo Larson tweeted out features her laying on her couch, halfway covered up with a blanket, reading a Captain Marvel comic book, while dressed up in a Captain Marvel outfit. She captioned the photo with "Larson Industries R&D Dept.

Brie Larson only just officially joined the Marvel cinematic universe when she was announced for Captain Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con and fans are already clamoring to see her in costume. She's given us the next best thing. Through the online comedy network Above Average, Broadway Video has made a mark in the web video world. Now, it has a plan to reach a more targeted group of digital media consumers. Lorne Michaels’ company, best known for producing Saturday Night Live, has announced Mas Mejor, a studio that will be aimed primarily at Latino audiences.

Many of Above Average’s best videos have been led by SNL cast members, and Broadway Video is also making use of the sketch show’s alums as it prepares to launch Mas Major. It has tapped Horatio Sanz and Fred Armisen to work with up-and-coming creators (like Vine star David Lopez) to produce a bilingual mix of web series and editorial content, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both Sanz and Armisen have Latino roots themselves; Sanz was born in Chile, and Armisen’s mother is from Venezuela.
