Mud Mountain is a character-driven docu-series set in the high mountains of British Columbia where giant logs and big pay days beckon men to take huge risks. Logging and log hauling is one of the most dangerous professions in the world and no one is willing to go steeper or deeper than third-generation loggers, Craig and Brent Lebeau. For a decade, the two brothers were at loggerheads unwilling to cede an inch or a machine to the other. But wicked weather, devastating accidents, and a declining industry, have forced the Lebeau brothers to bury the ax and work together.

For approximately the first quarter century of its life, BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, boasted the largest air supported dome in the world. The fabric roof was held up by sixteen fans, which, if there was ever a power failure, would cause the roof to deflate. During a windstorm on January 5, 2007, a large hole was ripped into the fabric roof. Beyond the immediate issue of repairing the roof, this incident led to authorities contemplating the future of aging BC Place: whether a similar roof should replace the existing, whether another roof design was in order for twenty-first century thinking, or whether a new facility should be built in its place. They decided on the middle option, wanting a retractable roof. The design conceived was revolutionary and never having done before: thirty-six masts erected on the perimeter of the concrete structure supporting the equivalent of eighteen suspension cables across the diameter, which would at its core balance a central node, onto which the new fabric retractable part of the roof would be housed. This design was predicated on everything being in balance, as if something was off kilter, it would throw off the entire equilibrium of the structure. As it was only so far realized in computer modeling, any glitch along the way could result in disaster. The eighteen month project is largely told from the perspective of three people: David Campbell, the designer, who had to oversee every aspect of the project to ensure it met his visions technically and aesthetically; Dan Bock, the project manager, whose job was increasingly difficult over time as it got more and more complex with the erection of each successive mast and each successive cable; and Brian Griffin, BC Place's Director of Operations, who could not afford any delay as he needed the facility open for two back-to-back events on the day promised.

Through nasty weather conditions, tangled wrecks, and unforeseen problems, the crew is pushed to their limits to maintain one goal: to keep traffic moving. With majority of traffic semi-trucks, the job proves one of the most difficult and deadly in the world. Can they do it?

Jamie flies to Chatanooga to pickup a truck with a rotating boom that he's impatiently waiting for. The crew deals with two tough to flip turnovers loaded with lumber and wine.

Jamie brings one of his young boys along on an "easy" job only to see three more trucks crash during the job. A unknown load in a wrecked truck leads to an embarrassing debut for the rotator. Jamie has trouble with son Brandon's work ethic and new earrings.

Jamie's crew struggles with undersized equipment while overhead power lines threaten. A new driver learns the ropes though a mishap or two and turns up missing when the weather turns. After a long shift Jamie gives his team a break then is promptly faced with a two semi wreck on his own.

As his crew loses jobs to competitors, Jamie recalls the event that make him so competitive.

Even tow crews and snowplows can't work when avalanches start. But once the avalanche risk is averted Jamie risks his precious rotator to lift a semi up a cliff without damaging it.

Seems when it's not snow it's rock slides and them boulders hurt. But rock or snow make no difference to the highway department. They still want the roads reopen right quick.

Spring mean a drop in business and Jamie is worried about costs and unpaid bills. Layoffs seem inevitable. On the mountain a mail truck means special challenges which has Adam linking about quitting.

HIGHWAY THRU HELL: AFTER THE CRASH catches up with the heavy rescue crew as they reflect over the highs and lows on the mountain last winter. In between highlight clips, showing some of the best and worst times they had the over the season's eight gripping episodes, the guys talk about their toughest wrecks, worst injuries, stormiest weather, tense moments on the team, and why they stick it out despite it all. Jamie talks about being prepared for anything and how his amazing fleet of heavy rescue trucks helps him tackle it all. Ken, the new guy from the city, stops in for a beer and recounts his struggles adjusting to life on the mountain. Brandon, Jamie's 17-year-old stepson and last winter's rookie, takes some heat for his work ethic but isn't afraid to throw it back. As things are heating up, an unexpected visit from arch-rival Al Quiring brings out some serious barbs from Adam. Then Mark turns the tough questions on Kevin, Adam, and the boss himself, Jamie. It all ends with a surprise when Mark invites the guys to see the Coquihalla, and the majestic mountains surrounding it, from an angle they've never experienced: from­ mid-air in a helicopter.

A car lift leads to no end of frustration. Jamie questions his son Brandon's priorities but Dad is impressed when he get's a taste of Brandon's world.

Winter is back in full force on the Coquihalla Highway and Jamie Davis has bulked up with his biggest heavy rescue crew ever. The first big wreck of the season brings the crew out to a crashed truck with a double load of lumber that Jamie needs to recover without damaging its fragile roof. As the job drags on into the night the road freezes over leaving the team to juggle passing traffic and an awkward recovery.

Winter hits fast and furious, testing the endurance of the heavy rescue crew. Jamie's got to keep a wrecked load of wood chips from busting open all over the highway. Ken strikes out when he tries to recruit Brandon into car towing. Later, a fully loaded Sea-Can container flips, blocking Highway 3. The heaviest lift in two seasons pushes Jamie and the Rotator to their outer limit.
