‘Motorheads’ Canceled By Prime Video After One Season, Looking For A New Home
Image
Exclusive: Prime Video has opted not to renew YA drama Motorheads for a second season, Deadline has learned. The decision comes more than three months after the 10-episode first season dropped May 20.

But there is hope for the series’ passionate fans who have been campaigning for a renewal on X and TikTok. The producers — with Amazon’s permission — have taken out the show, created by John A. Norris, and already started conversations with potential new homes, sources said.

“We set out to make a show with no agenda and a lot of heart, to give families something they can watch together,” series executive producer Jason Seagraves said in a statement to Deadline. “While Johnny and I are disappointed Motorheads won’t be continuing at Prime Video, we couldn’t be more proud of what the team created. Despite going into release with impossibly low audience awareness, our passionate and vocal...

Prison Break 20th Anniversary: Revisiting the Escape
Michael Rapaport, Muse Watson, Stacy Keach, Paul Adelstein, Barbara Eve Harris, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Leon Russom, Wade Williams, Amaury Nolasco, and Marshall Allman in Prison Break (2005)
When Prison Break premiered on Fox on August 29, 2005, it was pitched as a limited 13-episode thriller. But audiences didn’t just watch, they obsessed. Ratings soared, fan forums lit up, and Fox quickly realized it had a breakout hit that couldn’t be contained.

Prison Break: From Mini-Series to Multi-Season Hit

Created by Paul Scheuring, Prison Break followed Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), a structural engineer who deliberately had himself incarcerated to free his wrongly convicted brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). Michael’s elaborate plan, tattooed across his entire body, became an instant pop-culture icon.

What began as a short run expanded into four seasons, a TV movie finale (The Final Break), and a 2017 revival.

‘Supernatural’ Star Reveals Reboot Prospects After Failed Spin-Off
Image
In the five years since Supernatural took its final bow and wrapped up after 15 amazing seasons, series stars including Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Ruth Connell, and Mark Sheppard keep the magic alive by way of fan conventions. The actors are currently faced with questions about the possibility of the show returning and the likelihood that they’d sign on if something were to happen. Over the weekend at Fan Expo Boston, Padalecki stood in front of a room overflowing with Supernatural megafans and addressed the possibility of a revival posed by the panel’s moderator, Victor Dandridge.

Before talking about the future, Padalecki took a moment to reflect on the past, revealing that five years ago to the day, he and the team were traveling to Vancouver “to do our two-week quarantine to then finish the last episode and a half.” He went on to tease:

“I’m...

'Prison Break' Leaves Netflix Next Month
Image
It’s been only a year since Prison Break returned to Netflix globally, allowing subscribers outside the US to enjoy all five seasons and ninety episodes, which we’ve now learned will be leaving the streamer again soon. Created by Paul Scheuring for Fox, the crime drama debuted on August 29, 2005, and concluded with a nine-episode fifth season that ran from April 4 to May 30, 2017. Later on, it made its way to Netflix, where it was initially removed internationally in January 2022, but returned in September 2024, months after Netflix US re-added the show in July.

As part of a content licensing deal with Disney for legacy Fox titles, Netflix re-added the hit action thriller to its catalog for a single year, which is set to end next month. With that, Prison Break will not be available to subscribers in all international regions, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, all of Latin America, Europe,...

Prime Video's 78% Rotten Tomatoes Racing Drama Gets Encouraging Season 2 Update
Image
It's always a little worrying when weeks go by without word about a new show. Is it cancelled? Is it coming back? Motorheads premiered over two months ago, and despite a positive reception with Season 1 rated fresh at 78% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Prime Video has yet to renew the show for Season 2. Deadline caught up with the streamer's Head of TV, Vernon Sanders, and discussed their current slate of young adult dramas. They also asked about the status of Motorheads Season 2. While Sanders did not reveal whether the show would return, his comments about it were encouraging. Many shows suffer the fate of lack of completion, but not Motorheads. Vernon revealed that the streamer was seeing some good completion rates, which is always a positive sign. He explained:

"Motorheads has just really sort of resonated with us and struck us. What I’ve been excited to see on that...

‘Zombies 4′ Star Milo Manheim on His Future With the Disney Franchise and Plans to Return to the Stage: ‘Broadway…Is Calling My Name’
Image
Milo Manheim is looking to return to the stage.

The star of the Disney Channel’s “Zombies” films recently played Seymour in a “Little Shop of Horrors” off-Broadway revival and was also in a Los Angeles production of “American Idiot” last year.

“I absolutely hope to do more theater. The plan is, the goal if you will, is to go back and forth between film and theater for the rest of my life. I love them both so much,” Manheim told Variety at the L.A. premiere of “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.”

And if an opportunity to be on Broadway came along, he would take it. “Just Broadway in general is calling my name. I can hear it all the way here in L.A. But I’m sure I’ll be back on that New York stage at some point,” he added.

But Manheim is not planning...

Hulu's 'Prison Break' Reboot Cast Gets Spooky With 'The Conjuring' and 'Blade' Stars
Image
The Prison Break reboot is building its cast one eerie guest star at a time. Hulu’s upcoming pilot set in the world of the original Fox series has just added four more actors in major guest roles — and they’re bringing some serious genre cred with them. As reported by Variety, Ray McKinnon, Margo Martindale, Donal Logue, and Lili Taylor have joined the pilot in guest spots. The new series hails from Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James, and while the exact plot is still under wraps, it’s clear this version of Prison Break is putting together a crew that could rival Michael, Linc, Sucre and T-Bag.

McKinnon will play Joe Dahl, a private detective haunted by a long-cold case. Martindale takes on the role of Jessica Strand, the no-nonsense warden of one of the most dangerous prisons in the country. Logue appears as Holt Keane, a grieving...

Motorheads TV Review: Car racing and teen drama collide in the Ryan Phillippe-led coming-of-age series
Image
Plot: Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school.

Review: I am not a car guy, but I am a sucker for movies and series that feature racing. I am also a sucker for kids banding together and forging a team to push back against bullies and bad guys. Whether it be The Goonies, It, or even the Harry Potter films, when a series or film can deliver a teen-centric drama without pandering to the soapier tendencies of young adult fare, it can make for a very entertaining watch. So many shows pander to the audience...

Does Michael Scofield Die In Prison Break? His Fate Explained
Image
Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) has a special gift. During the five seasons "Prison Break" was on the air, he showed that there wasn't a single penitentiary on the planet he couldn't break in or out of. Granted, he didn't visit every prison in the world, but the show establishes that he knows how to get out of any sticky situation, so why should we believe that there are any cells that could keep him locked up? For viewers, Michael's escapades provided some edge-of-the-seat entertainment, even when the series started getting ridiculous and running out of steam.

Then again, prison wasn't the only problem Michael had to contend with on "Prison Break." At one point, he suffers from a brain tumor that puts his life in danger, requiring him to get an experimental treatment. However, his problems further intensify when he enters into business with some bad people and gets caught up in an explosion.

‘The Masked Singer’ spoilers: Who is Coral?
Image
Originally published Feb. 12, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. Pt; updated April 23, 2025 at 5:10 p.m. Pt

Coral made her debut on the Feb. 12 episode of The Masked Singer Season 13 as a member of Group A. The sultry sea creature's first song on Fox's reality TV show was “Mad World” and she had the four panelists guessing such famous names as Carly Rae Jepsen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Halsey.

For her second performance she sang "Accidentally in Love" and the judges name-dropped Dove Cameron, Hailee Steinfeld, and Lili Reinhart. Her third song, “Luck Be a Lady," snagged guesses like Victoria Justice, Rachel Zegler, and Camila Mendes. When the Lucky 6 merged and she belted out "Ain't It Fun," the confused panelists added Selena Gomez and Brittany Snow to the mix. In the quarter-finals, the panelists were still stumped after Coral's performance of "Sk8er Boi," guessing Hilary Duff, Ashley Tisdale, and Nina Dobrev.

But who is Coral?...

Cardenas and Bourne were both main cast members on Mayans M.C., so this will be something of a reunion as the Prison Break reboot pilot is being written and executive-produced by Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James. Cardenas will play Ghost, a “ruthlessly dangerous inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Bourne will play Junior, a “mentally unstable lone survivor of a decades-old prison break that devasted the town.” Bullock will play Darius ‘Red’ Lewis, an inmate. Flores will play Andrea, a “female cadet training to be a Corrections Officer.“

'Prison Break' Reboot Casts Lukas Gage, Emily Browning, Drake Rodger
Image
The Prison Break reboot at Hulu may not be giving us another season with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), but it is giving us quite the new cast to make up for it. According to a new report from Variety, the Elgin James-created reboot has cast three series regulars — and they all come from majorly successful shows.

Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger have been cast to lead the show for the pilot episode that has been ordered by the streamer. And while you may not know those names off the top of your head, you absolutely know their faces and have likely seen (and loved!) at least one thing they have done in recent years.

Set in the same world as the original Prison Break, but telling an entirely new story of its own, the show will focus on three characters to be played by the actors above.

Why The CW Canceled The Supernatural Spin-Off The Winchesters
Image
The CW's "Supernatural" ended after 15 record-breaking seasons, with the demon-hunting siblings Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) both ending up in Heaven after it was all said and done. Of course, it was only a matter of time until the network tried to capitalize on the success of the hit horror show, and the prequel series, "The Winchesters," was born -- only to be canceled after one season.

"The Winchesters" switches the action to the '70s and follows Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) and John Winchester (Drake Rodger) -- aka Sam and Dean's parents -- as they fight all manner of creatures and crush on each other. They are also joined by a Scooby Gang-esque group of monster hunters who help them out along the way, making for a fun, diverse, and action-packed viewing experience. Sadly, the gang's adventures weren't destined to last, no matter how much they enriched the "Supernatural" universe.

Landman Star Explains Why She’s “Thankful” The Show Undersold Her Character At The Beginning
Image
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Landman season 1, episode 10!Landman star Michelle Randolph explains why she's "thankful" the show undersold her character at the beginning, only to give her a deeper story later. Randolph portrayed Tommy's (Billy Bob Thornton) daughter Ainsley in the oil-focused drama, a 17-year-old whose introduction played into stereotypes of a spoiled young girl with a focus on fashion and boys. However, despite controversy surrounding Ainsley's portrayal in Landman, the show slowly offered her more character development. As she becomes enamored with star quarterback Ryder Simpson (Mitchell Slaggert), she reveals a more thoughtful side to herself as the series progresses.

Speaking with Deadline, Randolph explained how grateful she was that Ainsley started out less-developed during Landman's early episodes. She explained this was the case for both her character and Ali Larter's Angela, Tommy's wife, with both characters being introduced "at their most extreme." This allowed both of...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Landman season 1, episode 10!Landman delivers a gripping ending with a massive, 80-minute season finale. "The Crumbs of Hope" closes out the Paramount+ show in a satisfying way that leaves room for future stories. But this is just the setup to the finale, which sees every single story finally come to a head.

Jerry Jones' Unexpected Cameo in Taylor Sheridan's ‘Landman,’ Explained
Image
With one episode remaining in Landman's inaugural season, all eyes turn to see how Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) and Cami (Demi Moore) will handle the inevitable cartel confrontation when the finale airs on January 12, 2025. Of course, one episode prior, "WolfCamp," featured a wildly unexpected cameo appearance from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, a master media manipulator who understands how to control a public narrative.

Then again, on closer inspection, Jones' cameo is more pertinent to Landman's themes than may first appear. His grand monologue may fudge a few facts and streamline his background, but heeding Jones' advice may be more valuable than one might expect for a show about the highly profitable oil and gas industry. For more context, here's everything to know about Jerry Jones' Landman cameo.

Landman Episode 8's Ainsley Story Is Better Than Its Controversial Scenes, Despite Taylor Sheridan Show Star's Defense
Image
Ainsley Norris's story in Landman episode 8 was much better than any of her character's earlier controversial scenes, despite what Michelle Randolph has said about them. Ainsley has been a source of controversy since she first appeared in the premiere of Landman. Many viewers took issue with how sexualized she was in those early episodes, and the fact that she would openly discuss her sex life with her father, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton). On top of that, many of the male characters in Landman were obsessed with Ainsley, which wasn't helped by the fact that all she wanted to do was sunbathe and work out in skimpy clothing.

Luckily, by the ending of Landman episode 8, Ainsley had become a much more well-rounded and less provacative character. Tommy convinced Ainsley to lie to him about her sex life, like most daughters do with their fathers, and she's even gotten involved in volunteering at a local retirement community.

Landman's Controversial Ainsley Storyline Defended By Taylor Sheridan Show Star: "Not My Job To Tell People How To Interpret My Character"

Landman star Michelle Randolph defends the controversial Ainsley storyline in the Taylor Sheridan-created Paramount+ drama. Randolph's character, Ainsley Norris, is introduced in the premiere episode of Landman, which is based on the podcast by co-creator Christian Wallace. She's in a relationship with Dakota Loving (Drake Rodger), a young man that her father Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) doesn't approve of. But early on, Randolph's scenes drew a lot of attention online because of how Ainsley was depicted despite being only 17 years old.

In an interview with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns to discuss Landman, which streams Sundays on Paramount+, Randolph discusses the online response to Ainsley's controversial depiction and viral scenes. The actor explained that she put her effort into developing the character and filming. Beyond that, she says that it's not her job to decide what viewers should take away from the scenes.
