Captain Marvel's new uniform pays homage to her military background and leadership role as the leader of the Avengers. The updated costume combines elements from her previous personas and her alien heritage, making it field-ready for heroic adventures. The addition of golden bracelets to her costume is a nod to the past heroes who held the title of Captain Marvel and their connection to Kree powers.
As a character, Captain Marvel has gone through many radical changes since Carol Danvers was introduced in 1968 — and she's gone through even more looks. Now, a new variant cover for the upcoming Captain Marvel #1 gives an up-close view of her latest uniform.

Marvel recently unveiled a gorgeous new connecting variant cover for Wolverine #37 and X-Men #26, from artist David Nakayama, which is not only a beautiful homage to Jim Lee's iconic X-Men Pool Party pinup art, but also firmly cements Tony Stark as a member of the X-Family, as he gets ready to wed the iconic Emma Frost.

This year's Hellfire Gala may have already come to a close, but new X-Men art boasts the totality of Psylocke's as yet unseen attire. The mutant assassin turned Krakoan War Captain had relatively little to do during this year's function, especially as most of the Gala's drama was meant to spark the events of A.X.E.: Judgment Day. Perhaps its only fitting that the outset and the resolution of Judgment Day are both tied to the Hellfire Gala, since Psylocke's outfit reveal comes by way of a variant cover for the final story of the event. Kieron Gillen, Guiu Villanova, Andres Mossa, Vc's Clayton Cowles, and Tom Brevoort unite to conclude the massive event in A.X.E.: Judgment Day Omega, and David Nakayama's variant cover is set to remind audiences of the night that inadvertently sparked the whole shebang.

These days, it sure does seem like variant covers are the way to go. In my opinion, they can often feature artwork even more gorgeous than the standard covers, or even offer an alternate take on iconic characters we can’t see anywhere else. When it comes to the exhibits presented today, both of those statements may wind up proving true.
As you may have heard, one of Marvel’s first major story arcs kicking off early next year is that of Iron Man 2020, which will see Arno Stark inherit the armor from his brother, Tony. What happens to the original Shellhead remains to be seen, but my gut tells me it won’t be pretty.
In celebration of this tale, the House of Ideas allowed for various illustrators to reimagine how some of their most popular characters appear on a number of variant covers to drop over the next few months.

In recent years, the House of Ideas has had a lot of fun with Deadpool by placing the character in a variety of outlandish situations. Granted, the unexpected has long been within Wade Wilson’s wheelhouse, but when we’re treated to out of continuity stories that see him killing the rest of the Marvel Universe – or those in continuity showing him murdering analogs for Batman’s parents – odds are those are what we’ll remember for years to come.
As it turns out, the next project that’s bound to turn more than a few heads is that of Secret Agent Deadpool, which’ll put somewhat of a James Bond-esque spin on the Merc with a Mouth. Set to released as a six-issue bi-weekly series, it’ll be written by Chris Hastings, with interior artwork by by Salva Espin. As for covers, those will be provided by David Nakayama.
