Invasion Review: Anxiety in the Tropics

Invasion, directed by Bobby Boermans and penned by Philip Delmaar, Errol Nayci and Lucas de Waard, thrusts viewers into a jarring collision of sunlit calm and sudden violence. The Caribbean islands of Curaçao and Aruba become battlegrounds when Veragua’s warship opens fire on resort beaches, scattering vacationers and igniting a rapid military response. Within moments, the film sweeps from bombarded coastline to a Dutch battleship charged with rescue operations.

At its center stands Andy (Tarikh Janssen), a marine recruit whose acrophobia threatens his career. Joined by Jack (Gijs Blom) and Noa (Ortál Vriend), he navigates high-stakes naval patrols, a fraught jungle rescue and a tense embassy extraction that tests loyalties. "Mr. Prime Minister, something has to be done... we're going covert." Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for an action movie called Invasion, also known as Invasie in Dutch. This is made by a filmmaker named Bobby Boermans from the Netherlands. It's a very jingostic film about the Dutch military trying to deal with an attack on one of its territories. Way too many films like this these days – almost if they're trying to condition people into thinking this is the only way to respond. When neighboring rogue country Veragua suddenly attacks Curaçao & Aruba, the Dutch government is taken totally by surprise. The conflict escalates rapidly. Studiocanal closes US deal for Caribbean-set action thriller ‘Invasion’

Studiocanal has sold Storytellers and Dutch FilmWorks action thriller Invasion to Well Go USA, which has acquired all North American rights to the film.

Studiocanal said it has also closed deals for the Bobby Boermans directed film in Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, without naming the companies involved.

The film is set in the aftermath of a surprise attack on the Caribbean islands of Curaçao and Aruba, autonomous countries in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, by a neighbouring dictatorship. As the conflict rapidly escalates, three young marines must step up and take action.

Well Go USA Takes North America For Dutch Action Thriller ‘Invasion’

Well Go USA has landed North American rights for Dutch action thriller Invasion about a daring military operation in the wake of a hostile attack on the Caribbean islands of Aruba and Curacao.

Studiocanal, which is handling international rights, said it was also in the process of closing deals to Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

The movie is a co-produced by Amsterdam-based Storytellers and Studiocanal company Dutch Film Works.

Director Bobby Boermans (Mocro Maffia, Goldon Hour) reunites with Storytellers having previously collaborated on the drama series High-Flyers teaming up with The Royal Dutch Airforce.

The drama unfolds in the wake of an unexpected attack on the Dutch overseas territories of Curaçao and Aruba by a neighbouring dictatorship.
