Sofia Carson is an award-winning actor, singer, and producer who has forged a singular and esteemed path in film, television, music and philanthropy. Globally acclaimed for her role in the Netflix phenomenon "Purple Hearts," Sofia also served as Executive Producer and co-wrote and performed the film's original soundtrack. In her music career, Sofia is a multi-platinum, award-winning songwriter, and singer. Her song "Applause", written by the legendary Diane Warren, was nominated for an Academy Award at the 2023 Oscar's. Last year, she joined legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli on his latest album Duets - 30th Anniversary. Sofia performs the iconic "Moon River," the Academy Award and Grammy Award winning classic originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's. As a UNICEF Ambassador, Sofia has dedicated her voice to engaging youth across the world to relentlessly pursue an equitable world for every child through the undeniable power of education. She has traveled to visit UNICEF programming in Brazil and Tanzania, where she advocated for the protection of women and girls' rights. In 2022, Carson spoke at Capitol Hill with UNICEF in support of the Keeping Girls in School Act. In 2023, she spoke at the United Nations alongside his excellency Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the International Day to Protect Education from Attack and she was honored by the United Nations Correspondents Association as Global Advocate of the Year.
