Laura Koons

Laura Koons was born at Webb Air Force Base Big Spring, Texas (Air Training Command). Her father is a retired USAF Captain Instructor Pilot (T-38) and a retired Delta Air Lines International Airline Captain (L-1011). Her mother is an Irish-American who chose to stay at home to raise both Laura and her younger brother in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Both parents were raised in Chicago, Illinois. Laura's family hails from a long line of brave Chicago Police Officers and Firefighters.

Laura has earned an AS in Criminal Justice, a BS/BA in Finance/Economics, and a MA in Teaching. She has held a variety of careers which has proved invaluable in creating believable intriguing screenplay characters. Laura continued to advance her screenwriting career by obtaining Alumnus status among ScreenwritingU's ProSeries Professional Screenwriting Program, as well as their Master Screenwriter Certificate Class.

Laura's passion for the film industry is apparent from script to screen. She's a multi-award winning Screenwriter, SAG-AFTRA Actress, SAG Signatory Producer, elected SAG-AFTRA Houston-Austin Local Board Member, elected SAG-AFTRA Convention Delegate, serves on the SAG Awards Committee, and is the Founder of Lost Lion Productions, LLC.
