Netflix continues to clean house as the streamer evaluates which shows they opt to continue making. Earlier, That 90s Show fell victim to cancellation. Now, according to Deadline, Netflix has decided not to renew the Jeff Goldblum high-concept series, Kaos. It had been confirmed by one of the show’s stars, Aurora Perrineau, in a now-deleted Instagram post.

In the deleted post, Perrineau said, “Well… this one hurts. I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try. When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all — every flaw, everything.”

Jeff Goldblum's new Netflix show has not turned out to be a hit for the streaming platform. Just a matter of weeks after the series premiered, Netflix has already pulled the plug.

Per Variety, Netflix has canceled Kaos after just one season. The news comes just over a month after the show first premiered on Aug. 29. In an Instagram post, which has since been deleted, series star Aurora Perrineau commented on the news, expressing her disappointment over the show ending while showing gratitude for being a part of the short-lived ride.

Charlie Covell’s comedic drama “Kaos” hits Netflix screens on Thursday, Aug. 29, and it’s giving Greek mythology buffs a new adventure to binge, reimagining the Greek gods in a contemporary setting.

The eight-episode series, directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo, will all drop at the same time on the streamer.

Here’s Netflix’s official synopsis: “Zeus has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. The official Netflix X account unveiled the official teaser trailer for Kaos, the dark comedy/fantasy series from creator Charlie Covell and writer Georgia Christou. Georgi Banks-Davies will direct five episodes of Kaos, while Runyararo Mapfumo will helm the remaining three. Kaos stars Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, the King of the Gods, Cliff Curtis playing the role of Poseidon, Janet McTeer portraying Hera, and House of the Dragon star Kurt Egyiawan playing Adrian. Charlie Covell might be known for the successful adaptation of the comic series The End of the F***ing World, but the British writer is currently working on a new show for Netflix, which is going to be released later this year. Kaos is an original work by Covell that is going to be a fantastic, mythology-inspired black comedy that will follow the adventures of Ancient Greek gods in a modern setting. The upcoming season of Sex Education will be without Rakhee Thakrar. The actress, who played teacher Emily Sands in the Netflix dramedy, confirmed to Daily Star Sunday that she will not be returning for Season 4.

“I’m not part of the new series. I can’t really talk about why,” she told the publication, adding “But I’m so proud of the show and grateful to have been part of something so important. There is nothing bad about Sex Education.”

Deadline has reached out to Netlix for comment.

Thakrar follows the recent exits of Tanya Reynolds, who portrayed Lily since the series’ launch, Patricia Allison (aka Ola) who played Lily’s romantic interest, and Bridgerton‘s Simone Ashley, who announced her departure earlier this year. Thakrar also is an original cast member on the series.

“It’s just the natural progression of these shows,” Reynolds told UK’s Radio Times in an interview last month.

Sex Education will be without another key cast member ahead of Season 4.

Tanya Reynolds, who has played Lily since the series launch, won’t be returning to the dramedy for the upcoming season.

“I’m not [returning], actually, which is sad, very sad,” Reynolds told the UK’s Radio Times. “It’s just the natural progression of these shows – when you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen.”

Reynolds follows the recent exit of Patricia Allison (aka Ola) who portrayed Lily’s romantic interest, and Bridgerton‘s Simone Ashley, who announced her departure earlier this year.

Netflix has ordered up another season of Moordale action.

The streamer confirmed a renewal for Sex Education Season 4 during its first Tudum fan event on Saturday.

Impressively, the renewal comes less than two weeks after Sex Education Season 3 dropped.

Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson) and Ncuti Gatwa (Eric) were at the event and spoke about their love for the series.

"It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way," reads the official description for the third season.

Moordale Secondary school is set to start a new term.

Netflix has renewed Sex Education for a fourth season. The streamer made the announcement at its fan event Netflix Tudum.

It comes only a week after the launch of season three.

The third season begins with a new year. Otis, played by Asa Butterfield, is having casual sex, Eric, played by Ncuti Gatwa, and Adam, played by Connor Swindells, are official, and Jean, played by Gillian Anderson has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope, played by Jemima Kirke, tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee, played by Aimee Lou Wood, discovers feminism, Jackson, played by Kedar Williams-Stirling, gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms.

The return of one of Netflix’s most popular and critically well-received comedies is just a few weeks away. On Tuesday, Netflix unveiled the trailer for “Sex Education” Season 3, which will premiere Friday, September 17. Created by Laurie Nunn, the hourlong series hasn’t released a new episode since January 2020 (due to pandemic-related production delays); the wait, as they say, makes the anticipation for the new season all the more intense.

The series’ Season 3 synopsis reads:

It’s a new year, Otis (Asa Butterfield) is having casual sex, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam (Connor Swindells) are official, and Jean (Gillian Anderson) has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) discovers feminism, Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling) gets a crush, and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes, and much more of Madam Groff.

The good days at Moordale High appear to be well and truly in the past.

Netflix has dropped the full-length trailer for Sex Education Season 3, and the new headmaster (played by Jemima Kirke) appears to be all about embracing change.

She's clearly been given the job of clearing up the school's image after it being declared "Sex School" following a string of very public controversies.

Hope sets out to change quite a bit about the school, including giving the students uniforms, painting over lockers, and among other wild things.

There's even a woman in one of the classes yelling at the students that sex is bad. Make of that what you will.

We also delve deeper into the complicated relationship between Otis and Maeve, who has clearly not been around each other since the whole deleted voicemail at the end of the second season.

Sex Education returns to Netflix later this year, and there will be some big changes.

Netflix unveiled a promotional video for Moordale High, which shows the students promoting the school under the order of the new headmistress.

Hope's plan is to get the school back on track, and it's clear that some of the students are struggling with a camera on them.

One of the most surprising moments shows Jackson putting his hand on Hope's shoulder, possibly teasing him having a crush on the new headmistress.

The purpose of the clip is to get people to "Choose Moordale!"

But, will the school be able to bounce back?

Netflix on Thursday announced the new season will bow September 17 and will consist of eight episodes, in line with the previous two seasons.

Isaacs will play Peter Groff, Mr. Groff’s (Alistair Petrie), more successful and not very modest older brother, who Mr. Groff has been staying with in the wake of his separation from Mrs. Groff.
