Jaschar Marktanner was born in Germany. While still in school, he was always drawn to writing stories and made movies in his head, but thought one could not just do that in real life. In 2010, he was an extra in a student short film by chance. Since then, he has appeared in roughly 50 films. In 2013, after trying for over two years, he made his first movie. In 2014, he resigned from acting. In 2015, he became a film critic.
