Good Charlotte are back with their first new album in seven years. The veteran pop-punk act has unleashed its eighth studio LP, Motel Du Cap, which is available to stream below.

The band still features founding members Joel Madden (lead vocals), Benji Madden, and Paul Thomas (bass), who formed Good Charlotte 30 years ago in 1995, along with longtime members Billy Martin (guitar) and Dean Butterworth (drums).

Ahead of the release of Motel Du Cap, Good Charlotte unveiled the singles “Rejects” and “Stepper,” two of 13 songs on the album. Four of the tracks feature guest vocalists, including “Life Is Great” (Wiz Khalifa), “Pink Guitar” (Zeph), “Deserve You” (Luke Borchelt), and “Vertigo” (Petti Hendrix).

The album was co-produced by former Bring Me the Horizon member Jordan Fish along with Zakk Cervini, known for his work with blink-182, Simple Plan, Yungblud, and more.

The acquisition was announced on Thursday. Kelly Clarkson has sold a stake in her catalog to HarborView equity partners, the company announced on Thursday, the latest high profile deal in the music acquisition world.

HarbourView said Thursday that the deal includes a portion of Clarkson’s biggest hits including “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and “Underneath the Tree.” The company didn’t specify in its announcement what type of rights it acquired, how much of a stake the company now owns or how much HarbourView paid. A rep for HarbourView didn’t immediately reply to request for comment.

“My music is such a huge part of my journey – not just professionally, but personally,” Clarkson said in a statement. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. ColorCreative, the management and production co-founded by actress and writer Issa Rae, is planning to significantly expand its business, backed by the investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners.

Rae is set to announce the strategic partnership at the Cannes Lions Festival Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the companies say that ColorCreative has global ambitions, and will use the investment to “expand its talent representation and production capabilities while also accelerating the creation and ownership of original content.” ColorCreative also says that it doubled its revenue from 2023 to 2024 despite the ongoing industry headwinds.

HarbourView Equity Partners has acquired the rights to the producer royalty income streams of Grammy-winning producer-songwriter Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the company confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

The acquisition marks another notable deal around Jerkins’ catalog, following the producer selling his publishing catalog to Recognition Music Group (formerly Hipgnosis Songs Fund) back in 2020. HarbourView declined to share financial details of the acquisition. Chapter Two, a Swedish music company specializing in music rights transactions, helped facilitate the deal, HarbourView said.

With the purchase, HarbourView is getting Jerkins’ recorded royalties on iconic hits like Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right but It’s Okay,” Destiny Child’s “Say My Name,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé, Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me,” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Jerkins is set to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame next month.

Midway through the set, Ty played a video featuring Big Tc singing from prison, accompanied live by an onstage choir.

On a stage decorated to resemble a prison yard — complete with chain link fences and barbed wire — the performers turned their back to the crowd and looked up towards the screen, which projected the video of Big Tc.

Selena Gomez announced a new album — and released a single — with fiancé Benny Blanco on Thursday.

I Said I Love You First will release March 21, Gomez wrote on Instagram. The first single, “Scared of Loving You,” is out now.

“We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon,” Gomez wrote.

Blanco also announced the album on his own social media, and followed up with a separate post featuring video clips of the couple’s album photo shoot, writing, “i cant [sic.] believe i get to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Blanco and Gomez announced their engagement in December, a year after publicly confirming their relationship.
