[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “Marvel’s Runaways” Episode 4, “Fifteen.”]
While a few of her “Runaways” peers are exploring newfound super powers, Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer) has had her own equally surprising discovery. Her scientist parents keep a veritable menagerie in their basement, but Gert wasn’t prepared to stumble upon one particular creature: a dinosaur.
While “Runaways” revealed the anachronistic reptile last week, it wasn’t until Episode 4 that Gert understands she has a connection with it. Just as the raptor is about to attack — or be attacked by – her adopted sister Molly (Allegra Acosta), Gert yells, “Stop!” and lo and behold, the dinosaur halts. As of this point, it’s not revealed why the dinosaur listens to her, but Gert’s parents Stacey and Dale (Brigid Brannagh and Kevin Weisman) engineered her – yes, the dinosaur is female – for their protection.

In bringing “Marvel’s Runaways” to Hulu, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage were asked to do something they almost never hear: Slow it down.
“In network television, you can’t have enough story in your pilot,” Schwartz told IndieWire’s Turn It On podcast. “So you’ll get the note, ‘Can you take Act Four and make that the end of your teaser?'”
Savage, who was a TV executive before she became a producer and writer, said the idea is to enact the premise as quickly as possible. But they got the opposite note at Hulu: “Can you take your teaser and make it the end of Act Four?”
Said Schwartz: “That turned out to be a great note and a great challenge. It became about character and not about plot.”
Schwartz admits that he and Savage have been accused of blowing through story too quicky, going back to “The O.C.,...

On Saturday, a Saturday Night Live writer Nick Kocher announced on Twitter that he accidentally grabbed the wrong tuxedo on his way to the Emmys —and he made a desperate plea to the internet to help him get his tux back.
“So I flew to Los Angeles yesterday and I grabbed my garment bag,” Kocher gloomily said in a video he posted on Twitter captioned “What Did I Do?”
“And it turns out it wasn’t my garment bag and now I have somebody else’s tuxedo and they have mine,” he continued.
“Kill me,” he added.

Rapper Tyler the Creator claimed that Zayn Malik flaked out on recording a song with him — twice.
“Fun fact,” Tyler said on Twitter. “I wrote ‘see you again’ for zayn but that bitch flaked on studio time twice, so i kept the ref for myself, worked out actually.”
Tyler, 26, released “See You Again,” which features Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis, in July on his critically acclaimed fourth album, Flower Boy.
Although Tyler had been heavily criticized because some of his earlier releases used anti-gay slurs, Flower Boy contained some verses which suggested he had been with men in the past.

When it comes to the Emmys, gender representation has always been a bit of a struggle behind the scenes. In non-acting categories, especially when it comes to technical awards, there’s a lack of female representation that’s persisted throughout the industry. But this year, there are bright spots to be found.
This is not a complete representation of all of the year’s nominees — there were many other female nominees whose work was noteworthy — but here is a selection of the strides women made in 2017, often in categories largely dominated by men.
Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance
“BoJack Horseman” (Netflix): Kristen Schaal as Sarah Lynn in “That’s Too Much, Man!” “F Is For Family” (Netflix): Mo Collins as Ginny, Jimmy Fitzsimmons, Lex, Ben, and Cutie Pie in the episode “Pray Away” “The Simpsons” (Fox): Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson in “Looking for Mr. Goodbart”

Sure, home is a set at a Midtown Manhattan studio, made of leftover material from the set of David Letterman’s old show. Some of it’s been repurposed into The Diddy Door, a walkway reserved for Sean Combs.
“It’s oddly emotional for me to walk in and take a deep breath, because I always think about how for four years on public access, I did not have access to the trunk of my own car because it was full of our set,” Gethard said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “We’d have to show up, set it up, every week, knock it down every week, put it back in the trunk. The idea that we have a set now that’s a semi-permanent thing is just so mind blowing. It feels like an odd little victory.”

Demi Lovato has appeared on Glee and The X Factor.
She’s comfortable in her own skin! Demi Lavoto showed off her curves in a sultry Instagram pic on Thursday, June 22.
In the snap, the “Cool for the Summer” songstress, 24, enjoyed some R&R in Cannes, France, and was dressed in a cream jumpsuit that could barely contain her curvy assets. The hit singer-songwriter paired the look with oversized glasses and wind-tousled hair.
“Objects in this picture may seem bigger than they actually are……,” the star captioned the pic, joking about her breasts.

Last Year’s Winner: “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”
Still Eligible: Yes.
Hot Streak: “The Daily Show” or a show run by one of its former correspondents has won this category 14 years running.
Fun Fact: …but “The Daily Show” itself, despite a record 10 wins in the variety category, wasn’t nominated in 2016.
The Emmys are more competitive than ever, and the Variety Talk category is no exception. Last year’s winner, “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” should feel secure in its odds for a nomination after another strong year, but few others can rest easy.
Of last year’s other nominees, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” are all in similar boats: They all have a solid history with the Academy and remain strong in the ratings. “The Late, Late Show with James Corden” has only grown in popularity since breaking in last year,...

Last Year’s Winner: “Key & Peele”
Still Eligible: No.
Hot Streak: This is only the third year of the category’s existence, but “Saturday Night Live” has been nominated in either Variety Sketch or the category’s previous, all-encompassing iteration, Variety Series, every year since 2008.
Fun Fact: “Saturday Night Live” has not won in either category since 1993.
Eighteen shows enter, six emerge. One-third of the variety sketch series on the 2017 Emmy ballot will make their way into the race, meaning many of the candidates can already taste victory…which also means the competition is going to be fierce.
The safest bets include “Saturday Night Live,” which is riding a hot streak and a hot season into the 2017 race; “Portlandia,” which has scored nods in two consecutive years and is generally beloved by the Academy; and “Drunk History,” a surprise inclusion when the sketch series category was first created that cemented...
