‘Suits LA’: What to Expect From the Spinoff (and Remember From ‘Suits’)
Image
Wait, is Suits really back? You bet your goddamn ass it is.

After the USA Network legal drama exploded on Netflix and racked up 57.7 billion minutes watched in 2023, creator Aaron Korsh is expanding the Suits universe with a second spinoff — this time, set on the West Coast. Suits LA, which premieres Sunday on NBC, will feature a new set of lawyers attempting to recapture the hallmarks of the original series: impossibly sharp intellect, edgy and witty dialogue and, yes, impeccably tailored suits and high fashion.

Given that the new spinoff offers very little carry-over in terms of characters, viewers could theoretically tune into the L.A.-based spinoff without having watched any of its predecessors. But they would be seriously depriving themselves of the addictive, cozy comforts of the original series. Whether you watched the mothership during its initial run on cable from 2011 to 2019, or during the “summer of Suits...

All 9 Suits Season Finales, Ranked Worst To Best
Image
From Harvey Specter trying to fix a mistake from the past to one last con to save the firm, Suits had a lot of great series finales. TV shows – especially the ones with several episodes per season and that run for many years – are known for saving the best for last and ending each season with major twists and cliffhangers. It was no different for Suits, a show that often had two main storylines per season that somewhat converged toward the end.

Although everyone has their list of best Suits seasons, it is fair to say that each season had at least a couple of great moments. In fact, even the weakest seasons of the show would have a strong finale, which is why many of Suits’ best episodes are actually season finales. Between betrayals and weddings, Suits knew how to close a season, although some finales were better than others.

What Is Former Southern Charm Star Olivia Flowers Doing Today?
Image
Olivia Flowers made her Southern Charm debut in Season 8, where she was Austen Kroll's love interest. However, by the following season, the couple were over, and a bombshell was thrown Olivia's way when she learned her best friend and co-star Taylor Ann Green had hooked up with Austen.

Season 9 followed the aftermath of Taylor and Austen's betrayal and Olivia's decision to no longer be friends with Taylor. Olivia did move on with castmate Rod Razavi, but that was short-lived.

With Season 10 premiering in December, fans were shocked to learn that Olivia was fired, since Austen's love triangle was a main storyline in Season 9. Fans wanted to see more of the California-native and so did she. So, what's Olivia been up to since getting the boot from Southern Charm?

Suits is having a huge revival after its original premiere date.

The legal drama TV series, which came to an end back in 2019, surged in popularity in recent months after hitting streaming services.

Here’s a synopsis: Big-time Manhattan corporate lawyer Harvey Specter and his team, which includes Donna Paulsen, Louis Litt, and Alex Williams, are launched into a play for power when a new partner joins the firm. With his two best associates gone and Jessica back in Chicago, Specter and the team try to adjust to a new normal without them. The team faces down betrayals, fiery relationships, and secrets that eventually come to light. Old and new rivalries surface among members of the team as they learn to deal with their new member.

What To Expect On Southern Charm Season 10
Image
In 2014, Bravo premiered the first-ever season of Southern Charm, which followed the personal lives of socialites living in Charleston, South Carolina. The show is now back for its tenth season and promises to bring even more drama than its previous one.

Season 9 left off with Austen Kroll in the middle of a scandalous love triangle with rumors that he slept with best friend Shep Rose's ex, Taylor Ann Green, which caused the end of her and Olivia Flowers' friendship. There was also the feud that lasted all season long between newbie Jarrett "Jt" Thomas and Austen that ended in an explosive physical altercation.

The Season 10 trailer not only sees new feuds, but three new faces. Additionally, viewers will not see some cast mates returning. But will Season 10 deliver the same intense drama?

Ex-Southern Charm Star Olivia Flowers Is Engaged
Image
Former Southern Charm star Olivia Flowers is engaged to Alex Williams.

When Olivia was last in the news cycle, it was for less pleasant reasons her firing from Bravo's Southern Charm.

Olivia became part of the Southern Charm cast for Season 8, and she was considered a "fan favorite" on the show.

Back in July, Olivia confirmed that she wasn't returning for Southern Charm Season 10, and she made it clear that it was "not [her] choice" i.e., she was axed.

Olivia spilled the tea on Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay's Scheananigans With Scheana Shay podcast, telling her fellow Bravolebrity how it all went down.

She said she "got the call" from the network, and relayed how the axe fell:

"'I got the call,' Flowers shared. 'The production company was just like, 'You don't really seem to be in Charleston that much. We're noticing on your Instagram you're in Texas,...

‘Doctor Who’ Episode Featuring Disgraced BBC News Anchor Huw Edwards Removed From iPlayer
Image
A Doctor Who episode co-starring Huw Edwards has been removed from BBC iPlayer after the news anchor pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children.

Fans are also calling for the 62-year-old’s scene in James Bond film Skyfall to be cut as Edwards, once the BBC’s highest-paid news presenter, was arrested in November — a development only shared with the public this week — and charged last month. On Wednesday, he made his pleas during a brief hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court in the U.K. capital.

The offenses are alleged to have taken place between 2020 and 2022. Edwards admitted to having 41 indecent images of children, sent to him by a convicted pedophile called Alex Williams on WhatsApp. This included seven category A images, the most severe classification, two of which showed a child between seven and nine, the court heard.

In the Doctor Who episode, which aired in 2006, David Tennant...

What Happened To Olivia Flowers After Southern Charm Season 9?
Image
Olivia found love offscreen with Alex Williams, a non-reality TV star. Olivia has transitioned into an influencer with a strong social media following. Olivia faced tragedy on Southern Charm but is open to returning to the show.

Olivia Flowers went through one of the most difficult situations imaginable while filming Southern Charm season 9, and here's what the reality TV star has been up to ever since. Olivia joined the cast of Southern Charm season 8 as a love interest to long-time cast member Austen Kroll, and she became an instant fan favorite. She dated Austen off and on throughout the season, but the two were never exclusive, which was a point of contention in the relationship.

Though Olivia's "situationship" with Austen didn't work out, Olivia had plenty of other beaus, both off and on the show. The Southern Charm season 9 star dated Rod Razavi, who was new to the show, but that didn't work out either.

‘Southern Charm’: Olivia Flowers Confirms Exit Ahead of Season 10, Says She Was ‘Blindsided’

It’s official: Olivia Flowers will not be returning in the next season of Southern Charm. After months of rumors that the reality star would not be back for Season 10, Flowers confirmed the news herself in a conversation with Scheana Shay on her podcast Scheananigans with Scheana Shay. The episode was released on Friday, July 12. “I’m not on this new season,” Flowers said. “So I have a lot more free time.” “I was super bummed,” she continued. “I got the call like, a few weeks before filming. What Did Robert Zane Do in Suits Season 8?
Image
Robert Zane's reduced role in Suits' final season despite significant character development in Season 8. Suits' focus on tying up loose storylines and giving characters happy endings, but some, like Robert Zane, are shortchanged. Robert Zane's actions in Season 8, including taking the legal fall for Harvey, highlight his importance to the show despite limited appearances.

As the American legal TV drama Suits continues to enjoy newfound success on Netflix, viewers may notice the glaring absence of fan-favorite Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) in the ninth and final season. In part due to his substantial character arc in Season 8, in which he makes bold power moves and strategic legal plays on behalf of the Zane Specter Litt law firm, Zane only appears in three of the final 10 episodes of the show and is hardly given an afterthought.

Suits' rushed final season does its best to tie up all the loose storylines and give the characters happy endings.

Suits Season 9 Recap: The Show’s Ending, Explained
Image
If there’s one thing the characters of Suits know how to do, it’s fight. For eight seasons, Harvey Specter, Donna Paulsen, Louis Litt, Mike Ross, Rachel Zane, and Jessica Pearson could spar better than any heavyweight boxer. Episode after episode, they go to war with their words. Their sneaky tactics help them win cases in the courtroom, but they also cause rifts in the office.

While verbal altercations are common between co-workers, they wouldn’t hesitate to go to battle with anyone who’d challenge one of their own or the firm as a whole. And they don’t have qualms about crossing some light ethical or legal boundaries when needed. Season 9 is no different: Harvey, Donna, Louis, Alex Williams, and Samantha Wheeler spend a lot of time in the final 10 episodes determining how to fight back to keep their firm intact with all their names on the door.

Suits Revival Movie Gets Exciting Update From Star Patrick Adams
Image
Suits enjoyed a revival on Netflix, sparking interest in a potential reunion movie for the original cast. The show dominated streaming in 2023, becoming Netflix's most-watched acquired series in a single week with 57.7 billion minutes watched. Suits, a legal drama with a cult following, continues to thrive in popularity years after its cancelation, paving the way for new projects.

The upside to Netflix is that sometimes a show can be rediscovered and gain a completely new following. That was the case with Suits, a show that had a successful nine-season run on the USA Network but saw a remarkable resurgence once it was added to Netflix (and to a lesser extent Peacock). The newfound popularity of the show led to NBCUniversal developing a spin-off series called Suits: L.A., which is in contention for a spot on NBC's network schedule, and now Patrick Adams, who starred on Suits as Mike Ross for seven seasons,...

Netflix Finally Reveals Streaming Premiere Date for Suits' Final Season

Netflix subscribers will soon be able to stream Suits in its entirety. A premiere date for the ninth and final season of the beloved legal drama has been announced.

Per Tudum.com, Suits Season 9 will begin streaming on Netflix in the U.S. on July 1. The first eight seasons of Suits are currently available to stream on the platform, while the entire series has been available in the rest of the world. Previously, NBCUniversal's Peacock was the exclusive streaming home of Suits Season 9. However, it was the show's arrival on Netflix last year that led to a renewed interest in the Aaron Korsh-created legal drama, which originally ran on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019.

‘Suits’ Cast Talk Potential Movie – Will Meghan Markle Be Back?
Image
Could the original Suits cast reunite for a spin-off movie? The show’s stars say there is a strong possibility, but it would require the blessing of the show’s creator, Aaron Korsh. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight from the show’s reunion panel at the Atx TV Festival in Austin, Texas, on Sunday (June 2), Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Amanda Schull, and Dulé Hill shared their thoughts on a potential film adaptation of the beloved legal drama. “Honestly, I think it wouldn’t surprise me if they did a model where you end up having some type of film,” said Hill, who played Alex Williams in the show’s final three seasons. He added that he could see a potential project or movie on Peacock for the show. “Oh my gosh, we’d have so much fun,” added Rafferty, who starred as Donna Paulsen across all nine seasons of the popular USA Network drama.

‘Suits’ Star Patrick J. Adams Says Cast and Creator Are Interested in a Reunion Movie: ‘I Think It Is Possible’
Image
Could “Suits” be a movie? It’s not out of the question, said star Patrick J. Adams during Sunday’s reunion panel at the Atx TV Festival.

Following a retrospective panel with Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer and executive Jeff Wachtel, a fan asked if the cast or creators would ever be interested in a reunion movie. While creator Aaron Korsh couldn’t be there — and is working on the spinoff — he’s interested in it, according to Adams.

“I am a person of no power or authority, but obviously, there’s a ‘Suits: LA‘ show that is being made. That is the focus of Aaron, I think he would agree,” Adams, who played Mike Ross on the legal drama, said. “But it’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together. So it depends on a million things if that can happen,...

Suits' Missing Season Coming To Netflix Very Soon
Image
Suits season 9 will finally be available on Netflix starting July 1st. The legal dramedy's popularity on Netflix led to an upcoming spinoff. With the addition of season 9, the complete series will now be available to stream on Netflix.

The missing season of Suits will soon be available on Netflix. The success of Suits on the streaming charts began to get special notice early in the summer of 2023, as the Aaron Korsh-created legal dramedy had the No. 1 spot for the week of June 19-25. Nielsen's streaming viewership numbers revealed that the legal drama was watched for 2.3 billion minutes during the aforementioned period, which marked the first full week of Suits being available on Netflix. More records have been broken since, though one season has been missing until now.

7 Ways Suits Season 10 Can Still Work (Even Without Meghan Markle)
Image
Suits season 10 could reunite Harvey, Donna, and Mike in Seattle, exploring their new lives and the dynamics of their reunion. The show could continue following the remaining name partners of the law firm, highlighting the changes and challenges they face without Harvey. Another option for Suits season 10 is to focus on Louis Litt getting his own protégé, giving him a chance to develop a mentorship similar to Harvey and Mike's.

There are several ways that Suits season 10 could still happen, even without Meghan Markle's Rachel. Originally running on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019, the legal drama follows New York's best closer, Harvey Specter, as he hires a fake but competent lawyer, Mike Ross, as his new associate. During its initial cable broadcast, Suits only experienced middling success. However, four years after it wrapped up, its arrival on Netflix has resulted in its renaissance, becoming the platform's most-watched acquired property.

Katherine Heigl, Dulé Hill, Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht, Amanda Schull, and Sarah Rafferty in Suits, avocats sur mesure (2011)
Suits Continues to Dominate Nielsen Streaming Chart; Jack Ryan & The Summer I Turned Pretty Soar
Katherine Heigl, Dulé Hill, Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht, Amanda Schull, and Sarah Rafferty in Suits, avocats sur mesure (2011)
It's hard to believe that a show that ended almost four years ago is delivering this much buzz.

But it shows that some of the most binge-able shows can get a renaissance years after they've ended.

Suits amassed another 3.7 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock.

A split for the streaming platforms has not been revealed, but the first eight seasons of Suits became available on June 17 on Netflix.

Make of that what you will. Peacock hasn't revealed if having exclusivity over Suits Season 9 has paved the way for a rise in sign-ups.

Suits is killing it for an acquired title, coming in well ahead of streaming original The Lincoln Lawyer (1.28 billion minutes viewed).

The news certainly bodes well for a revival, movie, or reboot, but it's hard to determine whether any of the cast would be interested.

Meghan Markle, who was missing from the last two seasons, probably wouldn't...

Exclusive: XYZ Films has picked up director Steven Lamorte’s violent slasher parody, The Mean One, and plans to release the film for free online in the U.S. on December 15th.

In horror The Mean One, David Howard Thornton (who plays Art The Clown in Terrifier 2) is a hairy, green-skinned grump in a Santa suit, living on a mountain high above the festive small town of Frazier Park, despising the holiday season. Young Cindy You-Know-Who (Krystle Martin), whose parents were butchered by The Mean One twenty Christmases earlier, is returning to town to seek closure. Above is a first-look image from the feature.

Directed by Lamorte from a script by Flip and Finn Kobler, David Howard Thornton stars with Krystle Martin, Chase Mullins, John Bigham, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler, and Amy Schumacher.

Pic is a co-production between A Sleight of Hand Productions, Amy Rose Productions, and Kali Pictures.

Review: Isiah Medina's "Inventing the Future" Charts the Origins of the 21st Century
Alex Williams
Last week, Isiah Medina made Inventing The Future, the follow-up to his debut feature 88:88, available to stream through his personal website, free of charge. It’s a towering film: a radical piece of intellectual montage, a utopian political tract, and an exploration of the ontology of digital image-making. Using the book of the same name by Nick Srnicek and Alex Williams as its basis, Inventing The Future outlines a vision of a “post-capitalist” society in which most labor is automated, a universal basic income is established, industry is nationalized and the economy is decarbonized. These societal transformations, Medina argues, will reduce tedious labor, eliminate financial pressures, and provide citizens with an increased amount of free time which may be devoted to leisure activities, pursuing creative endeavors, and engaging in other rewarding ventures. Before delving into these ideas for the future of Leftist politics, Medina reflects on the failures of the past.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys for Life (2020)
With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options—not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves–each week we highlight the noteworthy titles that have recently hit platforms. Check out this week’s selections below and an archive of past round-ups here.

Bad Boys For Life (Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah)

Much has been made in retrospect how quaint the original ‘95 Bad Boys plays in comparison to its ‘03 follow-up. It rode on the rapport of its leads through only a handful of gunfights and fisticuffs, culminating in an airport climax Bay had to front his own money to finish. The second installment contains not one but two extended car chases with trucks emptying obstacles onto our heroes, and an entire slum being obliterated by a Hummer with little regard for human life–all across a gratuitous two and a half hours. In short, eight years apart, the...

Ars Longa, Vita Brevis: The Year in De-Aging
“Yet repurposing remains possible in spite of these limits because there is often a significant untapped reservoir of potentials lying dormant within a technology. The difficult point to understand is that, in the words of one historian, ‘Technology is neither good nor bad; nor is it neutral.’ Any given technology is political but flexible, as it always exists in excess of the purposes for which it may have been designed.” —Nick Srnicek and Alex Williams, Inventing the Future: Postcapitalism and a World Without Work (2015)Above: Death Stranding. An interrogation of de-aging, or computer-generated imagery that alters the age (or its appearance) of an actor, should start with the fact that the technology modifies the physical body. The term “de-aging” is perhaps most similar to “anti-aging,” which is to say that each hinges upon an impulse to remove or undo its traces. The discomfort projected upon aging is challenged by...

Peggy Siegal Served Hollywood for Decades, But There’s No Spinning Jeffrey Epstein
In a 2016 New York Times profile of A-list event wrangler Peggy Siegal, Alex Williams wrote, “On her way to meet an old friend, John Travolta, at her party for his new FX mini-series, ‘The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story,’ at Monkey Bar, it seemed clear that Ms. Siegal is in no hurry to leave the social pinnacle she spent a lifetime clawing to reach.” Now, after three decades, her association with accused sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein has pushed the 72-year-old social hostess off that peak: Variety reports that Annapurna, Netflix, and FX have pulled their accounts.

Siegal has singular skills when it comes to mixing and matching the lists of New York’s elite movers and shakers across all social sectors — literary, media, art, finance, and entertainment. She works hard to set up lunches, dinners, screenings, and parties attended by some 800 New York-area Academy members.
