Ulf Schenkmanis(1934-2004)

Ulf Schenkmanis was a Swedish radio and television-journalist, writer and producer. He commenced his career as a teacher. In the early 1960s he started at the Swedish Radio-TV as a free-lancer and made popular shows for young people. With time, he was to become a very appreciated host for the radio show "Trädgårdsdags" (1979-2004), a program about gardening for ordinary people, and for the TV-show "Livslust" (1991-2002), bringing up subjects of medicine and health, also with questions from the viewers. He published over 100 books as well, on gardening, medicine, travelling, golf, wine and genealogy. He was also Swedish Honorary consul for Latvia.
