Image
The cancelations continue ahead of the holiday weekend.

Amazon has axed a trio of scripted series from its Prime Video service: The Horror of Dolores Roach, Harlan Coben’s Shelter, and With Love are all ending.

The Horror of Dolores Roach and Harlan Coben’s Shelter ran for one season, while With Love is ending after two seasons.

They are the latest cancelations at the streamer over the last few months following shows such as The Peripheral and A League of Their Own, which had both been renewed before those decisions were reversed.

Video Exclusive: ‘With Love’ Stars Isis King & Todd Grinnell Share How Their Careers Got Started
Image
Prime Video’s With Love stars actors Isis King and Todd Grinnell as Sol Perez and Dr. Miles Murphy who develop a relationship.

In the new exclusive uInterview video, the two actors go into detail on how their acting careers got started.

Her climb to fame was not an easy one, as opportunities for transgender actors were extremely limited, but she continued on despite the adversities that stood in her way.

“Unbeknownst to me, there were not really going to be any opportunities for me for many years after that because trans representation was so small,” he said, “and...

“We started season one as we did in the relationship like we’re getting to know each other and it was all kind of new and there was a lot of learning and growing,” he told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “And so in season two we really see the evolution of the relationship and we get into more, I think, even more honesty between Miles and Sol. ‘With Love’ Creator Gloria Calderón Kellett Talks The Show’s Spirit Of Diversity & Representation & Season 2 Theme — Contenders TV
Image
With Love creator and showrunner Gloria Calderón Kellett says that the spirit of diversity and representation that drives the romantic dramedy’s interpersonal, interfamily and intergenerational love stories was both necessary and overdue.

Contenders TV — Deadline’s Complete Coverage

“Turns out it wasn’t that hard.” Calderón Kellett said with ironic understatement during Deadline’s Contenders TV panel with the Amazon Prime Video series’ cast members Emeraude Toubia, Mark Indelicato, Isis King and Rome Flynn. “This series really came out of the pandemic and feeling sad and missing family, missing big gatherings, and my Instagram was a barrage of violence against black and brown and queer nation people. And so I wanted to give something a salve to these communities specifically, where we could see ourselves trauma-free, experiencing love and joy and thriving.”

“That’s what the show is about: It’s about love,” Calderón Kellett added, noting that mainstream...

‘With Love’ Review: Gloria Calderón Kellett’s Latest Joyous, Delightful Family Album
Image
After closing the book on her splendid revival of “One Day At a Time,” creator Gloria Calderón Kellett is back with another series focused on new hilarious family. “With Love” holds commonalities with “One Day,” predominately in that both are about an intergenerational Latino family, but the Amazon Prime Video series finds even richer and deeper avenues to explore.

Each episode takes place on a different holiday across one year in the lives of the Diaz clan. Lily and her brother Jorge are approaching relationships from opposite sides. Starting on Christmas Eve, Lily has broken up with her boyfriend (and then failed to get him back), while Jorge is embarking on a new romance with the level-headed Henry (Vincent Rodriguez III). As each holiday approaches, we see the pair embark on a fresh set of challenges that, coupled with other events their relatives are going through, help inform their emerging identities.

‘With Love’ Juggles Multiple Relationships Through Multiple Holidays and Drops One Significant Ball: TV Review
Image
Any show juggling multiple relationship dynamics gives itself the gift of possibility and the challenge of balancing it all at once. While it gets to tell several stories instead of relying on just one, some characters can easily fall through the cracks, or else become far less compelling when weighed against the others. Such is the case for “With Love,” a new Amazon Prime Video rom-com series from Gloria Calderón Kellett (“One Day at a Time”) that shines bright in some narratives and falls disappointingly flat in others.

Over five episodes, each unfolding over the course of a different holiday, “With Love” follows four interlocking couples as they fall in, out of, and back in love. Connecting them all are members of the Diaz family, a sprawling but tightly knit group with a lot of love, and more than a few codependent dynamics. The season details almost a full year of their lives,...

Image

What most people don't realize is that Isis King was still at the beginning of her transition when she was thrust into the spotlight on America's Next Top Model in 2005. At the time, she had to try to navigate through the world as a public figure without money. While it may have been tough, she told Popsugar she persevered by reminding herself that "people are counting on you, so you can't give up, you can't give in, and you just have to keep making it, because it's going to continue to inspire people." Isis is both an icon and a role model, and to many, seeing her on their screens was the first time they felt represented.

"It made me realize that just living my life and my truth was helping other people in such a big way, so I had to make the right decisions,...

To mark the importance of such recognition moving forward, Ana’s Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing – Aimm – partnered with Billy Porter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daniel Dae Kim, Isis King, Jamie Chung and Nicole Scherzinger to create a PSA challenging the entertainment industry to increase diverse and accurate cultural representation in programming and advertising. An extension of Aimm’s #SeeALL movement, television viewers are being driven to participate through a dedicated social campaign.

Aired during the “Countdown to the Emmys” preshow on ABC, the spot encourages the entertainment industry to unite in this fight for change.
