'Dance Academy' scribe Sam Strauss preps story of royal mistress 'Sheila'

Screenwriter Samantha Strauss makes her feature debut this month with Dance Academy, based on the show she created with producer Joanna Werner in 2010..

Earlier feature scripts went nowhere, the writer tells If. "I.d written a film before that had a young female protagonist and that was incredibly difficult to get up. We were told at the time that it.s not a market for Australia."

But the support of StudioCanal and the show's German partner Zdf made a Dance Academy feature possible, and Strauss is thrilled with the result.

Revlover loads up film and TV slate
Leading Tvc production house Revolver and former Screen Australia and Goalpost Pictures executive Martha Coleman have launched film and TV production banner Revlover.

The new company is developing a big slate of projects with entities such as Goalpost, Foxtel, eOne and Transmission Films.

Christopher Sharp, former director of development at Screen Queensland and development executive at Screen Australia, is Revlover.s head of development.

Founded in the 1990s and owned by Steve Rogers and Michael Ritchie, Revolver represents Justin Kurzel, The Glue Society.s Matt Devine and Gary Freedman, Rogers, Simon McQuoid, Tim Godsall and a number of other directors with whom Coleman is keen to work.

Superman:Requiem is a fan film written, directed, and produced by Gene Fallaize and is starring Martin Richardson as Clark Kent/Superman, Julian McDowell as Perry White, Audrey Kaipio as Cat Grant, Robert Hartley Wainwright as the film's villain, Alex Luthor the estranged son of Lex Luthor and Stacy Sobieski as Ali Noels - who is this film's version of Lois Lane. Why they are changing Lois - I have no clue and do not agree with it. This film is about Superman losing his powers and has to somehow find a way to get them back to save the world from an evil villain whilst learning many things about himself throughout his journey. The film takes place during the "Donner-verse." The story loosely follows the events after the first two Reeve's films and is set exactly three years after Superman Returns. Last Friday we reported that actor Martin Richardson would be playing Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming fan-film 'Superman: Requiem', and today we have a brand new poster which gives us our first good look at the costume being used, as well as who our leading lady and villain will be. Stacy Sobieski (Pictured above-left) will be play a new character called Ali Noels, a reporter at the Daily Planet that Clark has feelings for. Robert Hartley Wainwright (Pictured above-right) will be playing the films villain, Alex Luthor, estranged son to Lex Luthor.
