Kya Garwood is an Actor born in Yorkshire, England. From the age of 8 years, she had tap and ballet lessons at her local performance school. At the age of 18 moved to London and trained at the Anna Scher Theatre School in London, and attended college at the Kensington & Chelsea College for Performance Arts. As an unorthodox actor, Kya chose to hone in her craft skills working on features as a film Stand-In, which taught technical aspects rather than just performance. 2009 cast as a townsfolk in Stephen Daldry's West End production of An Inspector Calls. Played the lead in Frederick Stroppel's production of Package Deal at The Cockpit and recently during the SAG strike went back on stage at the Omnibus Theatre London, in a one off play The Other Yarns. Her earlier TV appearance includes: Dream Team and Footballers Wives,[Sky] Dead Ringers and Holby [BBC]. Her film feature credits include; Paddington 2 and The Marvels, with lead credits in her first short film LUCY which had its world premiere at the 28th Edition Brussels Short Film Festival, in which the film has been officially selected. Kya has also just won the Best Actress award for her powerful performance at the Monaco Charity Film Festival.
