The multi-act Shakespearean drama that is the fate of U.S. TikTok took another turn this week when The Information reported that owner ByteDance was developing a U.S.-specific app — internally called M2 — that would presumably allow it to keep functioning in the United States. This app would be sold to TikTok’s American buyer — potentially — getting it around the legal issue of being a China-owned app (maybe).
If the new TikTok app launches in September, as the report had it, with possible new owner-operator Oracle or another entity, then the long national nightmare of what would happen to the Sticky, the Kehlani and the Million Dollar Baby in the wake of the 2024 congressional act to divest-or-ban will finally be over.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that pitfalls present themselves and President Trump keeps...

President Donald Trump has pledged to deport all the illegal immigrants residing in the country and lock down the U.S.-Mexico border. The White House even set a goal for Ice to arrest at least 3,000 migrants per day. However, in their attempt to sweep out the illegal immigrants, several citizens who have been legally residing in the country with permanent residence got caught up in the chaos.
This whole situation sparked protests on the streets of Los Angeles, leading Donald Trump to deploy 2000 National Guard members, and 700 Marines to help respond to the protests. Meanwhile, several celebrities, including the Florida rapper Doechii, and actresses like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria, went public, in support of protesters.

On a night filled with laughter, heartfelt tributes, and electrifying performances, the 2025 BET Awards proved that honoring Black excellence transcends the trophies themselves.
Dubbed "Culture’s Biggest Night," the event offered a dazzling celebration of creativity and achievement. Rather than focusing on the presentation of awards, the nearly five-hour telecast prioritized entertainment, featuring a packed lineup of powerhouse performances, comedy, and emotional tributes. Highlighting the evening were special honors for the BET Ultimate Icon Award recipients: Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg. Their remarkable contributions to music, film, and culture took center stage in a show dedicated to legacy and artistry.
Host Kevin Hart kicked off the ceremony with a 10-minute monologue, poking fun at podcasts, stage names, and Kanye West. "He says he's out front and he's waiting for someone to invite him in," the comedian joked before warning the audience, "Don't do it! We all saw the movie Sinners.

Rapper Cardi B publicly displayed her new relationship with football star Stefon Diggs in a new Instagram post.
The pair was photographed cuddling close on a yacht, about to share a kiss. This is the first time the rapper has posted Diggs on her Instagram since rumors of their relationship. She captioned the post, “Chapter 5 ……Hello, Chapter Six.”
Diggs was also photographed on the yacht with a baggie, which many online suggested contained illegal substances. His New England Patriots coach commented this week that he had spoken to Diggs about the incident.
The couple was first seen together at a Knicks game on May 12.
This is the first time the rapper has been spotted in a new relationship since her messy split with Migos member Offset. The two officially filed for divorce in July 2024, which the rapper said was a mutual decision caused by a gradual buildup of marital issues.

The R&b musician Kehlani was scheduled to perform at Cornell University and New York’s SummerStage, but saw both performances cancelled in connection with her vocal support of Palestine. These repercussions, the loss of opportunity or performance income, are an example of why some musicians may be hesitant to speak out. But those who do have inspired others to reconfigure their idea of loss. In an open letter, fellow musician Vic Mensa commended Kehlani for choosing “to center humanity and courage as boldly and uncompromisingly as you have” despite the backlash.

SummerStage has canceled Kehlani’s upcoming Central Park Pride concert over pressure from Mayor Eric Adams’ office, which claimed the event posed “security concerns” due to the singer’s pro-Palestine stance that led to Cornell University canceling a show of hers as well last week.
In a letter addressed to City Parks Foundation executive director Heather Lubov, New York’s First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro wrote that “we have security concerns about this event, given the controversy surrounding Kehlani’s scheduled performance at Cornell University (causing University officials to cancel the appearance), the security precautions needed for an event like this in Central Park, and the security demands throughout the City for other Pride events during this same period of time.”
Mastro also suggested in his letter that Kehlani’s show could’ve jeopardized the Parks Foundation’s other SummerStage events as well, writing that “if the Foundation does not...

New York City’s SummerStage canceled Kehlani’s scheduled performance in Central Park this June, citing “safety issues” raised by Mayor Eric Adams’ office. The news arrives after Cornell University nixed her planned concert at their campus over the singer’s public support of Palestinians amid Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas.

Cardi B knows her fans are growing increasingly impatient while waiting for her second studio album. She’s getting restless, too. During a recent Instagram Live, the rapper blamed the prolonged delay of the long-awaited record on the string of featured guests who haven’t turned their verses in yet.
“I really need these fucking features,” Cardi said. “I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like come on now, I need that. I need that right now.

Kehlani responded to Cornell University’s decision to cancel her planned concert at the college over the singer’s stance on the situation in Gaza.
Earlier this week, Cornell president Michael I. Kotlikoff nixed Kehlani’s May 7 concert during the university’s annual Slope Day celebration, citing Kehlani’s “espoused antisemitic, anti-Israel sentiments in performances, videos, and on social media.”
“The selection of Kehlani as this year’s headliner has injected division and discord into Slope Day,” Kotlikoff wrote to students. “For that reason, I am rescinding Kehlani’s invitation.

Cornell has canceled an upcoming Kehlani concert at the university over the singer’s past pro-Palestine statements, Cornell president Michael I. Kotlikoff wrote in a letter to the student body Wednesday.
Kehlani was originally slated to perform at Cornell’s annual Slope Day event May 7, but her selection had “injected division and discord” into the event, Kotlikoff wrote in the letter, claiming that students had reached out “angry, hurt, and confused that Slope Day would feature a performer who has espoused antisemitic, anti-Israel sentiments in performances, videos, and on social media.”
“While any artist has the right in our country to express hateful views, Slope Day is about uniting our community, not dividing it,” Kotlikoff wrote.

Kehlani, an artist who has publicly supported Palestinians, will no longer perform at a scheduled Cornell University concert next month. The institution’s president, Michael I. Creed 3 entire cast guide(Photo Credit –Facebook)
This time around, with Creed 3, Michael B. Jordan not only steps back into Adonis Creed’s gloves but also hops into the director’s chair (talk about multitasking!). The film brings back familiar faces, introduces intense new ones, and even sneaks in a few real-life boxing legends for some extra ringside sparkle. The biggest shake-up? No Rocky!
Yep, Sylvester Stallone sits this one out, and so does Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago. But don’t worry, Jonathan Majors joins the franchise as Damian, a former friend-turned-foe, bringing all the emotional drama and heavyweight tension you could ask for. While previous villains were mostly ripped pros, Majors is all about raw acting firepower, and it shows. From family ties to fierce rivalries, the cast of Creed 3 is stacked like a championship card. Let’s break down who’s who, and who’s actually playing themselves.

There’s no pretense around Anycia, the Southern belle whose alluring voice and unabashed authenticity have made her a rising star. Singer-songwriter Sza joined Kendrick Lamar on the Super Bowl stage during the Halftime show. The historic performance saw appearances from several other artists such as Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and the music producer Mustard as Lamar performed some of his best hits, including the Drake diss track Not Like Us.
Sza has been a frequent collaborator on Lamar’s tracks, featuring on two tracks on his latest album Gnx. She has also won five Grammy Awards for her songs. Her net worth is also in the millions, though it may not be as high as Lamar’s. The effect of her recent appearance on the Super Bowl stage on her net worth is quite shocking, however.

This year’s Grammy Awards saw some history being created while the ceremony had the aftertaste of the tragic LA wildfires. While most of the attendees were on the theme, artists still killed it on the red carpet with their stunning outfits and appearances at the prestigious ceremony.

Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan will be among the top winners at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday, according to the official Gold Derby odds.
The night’s top prize, Album of the Year, will finally go to Beyoncé, based on our latest projections. She has lost four times before, often controversially, to the point that her husband, Jay-Z, called out the Recording Academy onstage while accepting his Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at last year’s show. When her Lemonade lost to Adele‘s 25 in 2017, even Adele admitted in her acceptance speech that Beyoncé deserved the prize. But beware: Beyoncé was the frontrunner in our odds the last three times she lost, and this year she has especially tough competition from Billie Eilish (Hit Me Hard and Soft) and Roan (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess). See the full category odds below.

GloRilla and Kehlani have teamed up to bring you the holiday spirit. The duo released a collaborative single, “Xmas Time,” which sees them celebrating the festive period and all it means.
“I remember those days when the nights got cold,” the two musicians sing. “Leaning on each other made our hearts grow more/ Nothing compares to the love at Christmas time.”
The singers announced the track earlier this week, with GloRilla sharing the news on Instagram along with the caption, “Good luck with yo Mrs dis as merry as I’m getting.

Except the day before she was scheduled to appear onstage at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, Roan pulled out.
