This new 2025 version of Marathon is actually a reboot of a classic 90s video game also called Marathon - one of the first shooter games Bungie ever made, released on Mac Os in 1995. This latest update is a "team-based extraction shooter." This cinematic short film isn't representing the exact gameplay - it's created by acclaimed Spanish animation filmmaker Alberto Mielgo, who won an Academy Award for 2022's The Windshield Wiper. This cinematic short features the voices of Erica Lindbeck as Glitch, Elias Toufexis as Void, Nika Futterman as Blackbird, Donnla Hughes as Oni, and Ben Starr as the Narrator. Very cool to see Bungie let Alberto play around and come up with something unique & fun with these characters. It definitely got my attention.

Already proving to be an instant hit for Netflix, taking the number-one spot in most countries on its debut, Kaos offers an innovative and chaotic reimagining of Greek mythology. Of course, it does not hurt to have the always-charismatic Jeff Goldblum in the role of Zeus. The series has certainly sparked interest in stories about ancient gods and heroes, leaving many fans wanting more. Thankfully, Netflix has another series on their platform, that also happens to be 100% fresh on Rt, and uses Greek mythology as its inspiration.

Blood of Zeus may be tonally different from Kaos, and in a different medium, animation versus live action, but the series boasts many exceptional elements that should appeal to fans of the recent Netflix hit. We will look a bit more at what Blood of Zeus is, and why you should consider checking it out yourself while riding the high of Greek-inspired fantasy.

Elias Toufexis as L'ak redefined the Breen species in Star Trek: Discovery with a soulful portrayal and backstory. L'ak, the Breen Scion, brought new depth to the Breen culture by revealing their imperial hierarchy in the 32nd century. Despite L'ak's tragic death, there are still possibilities for his return in flashbacks or as a hologram in future Star Trek series.

I think Star Trek: Discovery's L'ak, and the actor who portrayed him, Elias Toufexis, belongs on Star Trek's alien Mount Rushmore. There's no shortage of iconic aliens in Star Trek, and certainly, there are more than four actors who have delivered defining portrayals of non-human species in the final frontier. To name a few, Michael Dorn is the most prominent Klingon in Star Trek as Worf. Armin Shimerman is the face of the Ferengi as Quark. Of course, all Vulcans follow the mold set by the original, Leonard Nimoy.

Owing to its splendid world of Greek mythology, the Blood of Zeus captivated several viewers to the series. Not to mention, tons of fans patiently waited for Season 2’s release for over four years. From ancient lore to original storytelling, the series features the story of a young orphan who later learns the truth about his divine heritage.

Star Trek: Discovery introduced an android named Fred (J. Adam Brown) who bore an obvious resemblance to Lt. Commander Data (Brent Spiner), and I wish the show would have done more with him. Discovery's fifth and final season saw Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the USS Discovery embark on a fun intergalactic treasure hunt with connections to Star Trek: The Next Generation. One of my favorite elements of the Discovery season 5 premiere was the introduction of Fred, a Soong-type android resembling Tng's Data.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is a hot project with big names like Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti joining the cast. Felicia Day and Bonnie Gordon are eager and asking to be part of the exciting new Star Trek series. The series promises to explore the journey of young cadets as they strive to become Starfleet officers, facing challenges along the way.

Another Star Trek movie is heading back to theaters for its 40th anniversary. Paramount has announced the imminent theatrical re-release date for the 1984 film, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Per Empire, The Search for Spock will return to UK theaters in 4K on June 14. Paramount Ireland confirmed the theatrical re-release on X. "Trekkers, get ready! To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is returning to the big screen in 4K from 14 June," read the social media post. At the time of writing, The Search for Spock's 40th-anniversary re-release had only been announced for the UK, so it is unknown if a North American re-release is also being planned. In their original incarnation, the Breen appeared clad in metal helmets with snout-like protrusions and green laser-like eye bands. They were typically covered up in outfits featuring diagonal metal bands, and though characters on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" often made offhand comments about what the then-unseen aliens might be like, little was explained about their culture in the 20th century "Star Trek" shows. Enter "Discovery," which has a long track record of building upon and deepening existing in-universe lore.
