In an astounding moment of tension with no release, the sound was cut at a Journey concert on Friday night right before the drop of “Don’t Stop Believin’,” as the band was forced to cancel the remainder of the show due to an electrical fire.
Videos of the moment have been uploaded online, showing frontman Arnel Pineda singing the song’s iconic opening lines to an excited crowd at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo hosted at Houston’s Nrg Stadium. Everything appeared to be going as planned until the first “It goes on and on and on and on,” when the crowd sang “on and on,” and the band… did not.
Instead, their sound went out and they appeared confused, with keyboardist Jonathan Cain shrugging to his bandmates and Pineda still singing into the mic as if it was on. The crowd kept singing though, up through the...

It’s always exciting to see major actors try their hand at horror. Both John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush have never shied away from it, and always find interesting roles when they do take part. That’s no different here as The Rule of Jenny Pen provides the two thespians an absolute smorgasbord to play with. They get to play nemesis and are really able to milk each of their interactions. There’s a tension present whenever these two are in the same room and it’s because they know how to play off the small moments so well. I didn’t love the film itself (check out my review Here) but I was floored by the performances from these two talented actors.
Talking to two absolute acting titans like John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush can be a bit intimidating. Thankfully, they’re two of the nicest people out there and truly love acting,...

It's hard to imagine this now, considering the stranglehold that superhero films and television series have had on Hollywood over the past decade and a half, but in the early 2000s, developing a show about a superhero -- even a top-tier one like Superman -- was not guaranteed to be a slam dunk. It's a testament to the charming, borderline addictive nature of "Smallville" that it not only existed on the fledgling CW network, but thrived there for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2011.
In telling the story of Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) teen and young adult years growing up in Smallville, the frothy superhero drama introduced audiences to a crop of upcoming actors who made their mark both on "Smallville" and beyond. While some are still acting to this day, others have taken interesting career -- and personal life -- turns over the years that may surprise fans of the show. Here's the main cast of "Smallville,...

Netflix has announced that the upcoming second season of The Sandman will be its last.
Showrunner Allan Heinberg shared the following statement along with the first official season 2 poster art.
“The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream’s story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season. We are extremely grateful to Netflix for bringing the team all back together and giving us the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation in a way that we hope will surprise and delight the comics’ loyal readers as well as fans of our show.”
This news comes shortly after the publication of a New York Magazine piece outlining - in disturbing detail - new allegations of sexual assault made against The Sandman creator and series EP Neil Gaiman.

“Move Ya Body: The Birth of House” tells the story of how house music was born in the late 1970s. A history reconstructed by director Elegance Bratton (“The Inspection”) through the memories of the trailblazers who birthed it at underground clubs in racially segregated and violent Chicago, this is the story of how Black, brown and queer kids came up with a unique rhythm that people still dance to today. After watching this entertaining and nostalgic documentary, audiences’ most likely recourse may be to find the nearest club and spend the rest of their night dancing.
The first few minutes of “Move Ya Body: The Birth of House” dynamically set the stage for this revolution: Voiceover describes music whose beat “can be heard blocks away,” while the images show Chicago’s denizens rioting against the police and dancing all night. Bratton introduces his main protagonist, Vince Lawrence, who claims nervousness about the endeavor.

Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” will end with its upcoming second season.
“The Sandman” Season 2 has been a long time coming. The first season debuted in August 2022, and it wasn’t renewed at Netflix until November of that year. At that time, Netflix was also hesitant to label it as a second season at all, choosing instead to say it was “a continuation of ‘The Sandman’ world,” and wouldn’t commit to an episode count. Variety has confirmed the second season of “The Sandman” was intended to be the last prior to filming in 2023.

The 1987 sci-fi action classic RoboCop is one of those rare perfect movies. Everything about it works just right. The satire. The violence. The characters. The design of RoboCop himself. And it’s difficult to follow up perfection. Which is evident in RoboCop 2, a movie that tried to carry on the story… But ended up feeling tonally inconsistent and a bit scattered. It’s a fun movie, but not on the level of its predecessor. And now, we’re going to dig into just what happened to RoboCop 2.
Orion Pictures had a big hit on their hands with RoboCop, which they released on July 17, 1987. Made on a budget of just under fourteen million dollars, the film earned more than fifty-three million dollars at the box office. Back in 2011, when the final episode of Smallville aired, fans said goodbye to one of the most beloved Superman stars of all time, Tom Welling. His iconic portrayal of the boyish yet charming Clark Kent continues to be loved by the fans, cementing Welling’s enduring legacy and redefining Superman for an entire generation.

However, after stepping away from the mantle, Welling has not been as consistent with the film industry and prefers to live his private life. Naturally, Welling’s appearance has changed over the years but in recent photos the actor looks almost unrecognizable.

Ethel Cain’s debut studio album, Preacher’s Daughter, was a mix of crisply produced Americana and dreamy slowcore that served a morbid backstory about gendered violence and familial trauma. Despite the album’s heavy subject matter, the singer-songwriter’s bracing melodies and detailed lyrics offered catharsis rather than despondence.
Cain’s new EP, Perverts, approaches catharsis differently. Rather than spotlighting the singer’s voice as the narrator of her protagonist’s tribulations, harsh noise and ominous atmospheres are front and center here. In essence, Cain has transposed the darkness of her themes to her sound, letting drones and power electronics obscure her lyrics and evoke a nauseous dread.
Perverts is layered with contorted voices that sound like intercepted radio frequencies from hell. Filled with an undulating, rumbling drone and faint mutterings, the title track opens the EP with a muffled rendition of the Christian hymn “Nearer, My God, to...

Violence in popular RPG video games often serves as a key gameplay mechanic as it makes the game much more immersive. However, violence in video games has been criticized over the years as it can have some negative impact on the players. The Fallout franchise, for example, is built around the idea of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where combat is necessary.

When discussing RPGs with great narrative and engaging mechanics, Fallout is often one of the first titles that comes to mind. With its unique approach to player freedom and narrative choices, it introduced a post-apocalyptic world where players could shape their journey through the decisions they made.

Nintendo may be well known for their work in the video game market, but this company does more than just make amazing games. They've also made their share of anime from time to time based on the video games their fans know and love.
Everything from Super Mario Bros. to Animal Crossing has received its own adaptation, many of which many fans have glossed over. Those fans should give Nintendo's other works a chance, especially if they are fans of those video games too. Nintendo may be a pro at making video games, but they're not half bad at making anime either.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem is a 1996 adventure fantasy anime based on the Super Famicom game of the same name. The adaptation consisted of two Ova episodes, each about thirty minutes long.

The attempt to combine an Mmo with a retro post-apocalypse setting was not unique to Fallout 76. Interplay, Fallout‘s original owner, had tried it years earlier. In reality, this came after Bethesda had acquired the series’ rights, but the two businesses reached a deal that would eventually result in a lawsuit, an out-of-court settlement, and Fallout Online‘s cancellation.

However, the idea dates back much further. Brian Fargo, the founder of Interplay, had been considering Fallout since the late 1990s, but Bethesda bought it in 2007. Black Isle Studios founder Feargus Urquhart, who is currently CEO of Obsidian, turned down his pitch. It didn’t want Fallout to be an Mmo and co-creator Tim Cain shared the sentiment as well. However, he was a bit concerned when the franchise took a different turn.

Quick Links Juggernaut and Professor X Have a Deep Rivalry Juggernaut Has Mystical Origins The MCU Can Make Juggernaut More Compelling
With the Infinity Saga having come and gone and the Multiverse Saga approaching its end in Avengers: Secret Wars, the X-Men and their rogues' gallery will most likely be a major focus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in coming years. The McU's take on the Mutants will inevitably be compared to those who appeared in 20th Century Fox's long-running X-Men film series. Some portrayals, like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, will be tough acts to follow, but the MCU also has the chance to improve characters who were let down by their previous live-action appearances. One such character is Juggernaut, who has appeared in a total of three films so far. He made his big-screen debut in X-Men: The Last Stand, in which he was portrayed by British actor Vinnie Jones.

Mufasa: The Lion King serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the Lion King franchise, mixing strands of nostalgia and innovation. This part, directed by Barry Jenkins (renowned for his nuanced storytelling) and written by Jeff Nathanson, attempts to deconstruct the mythology around one of cinema’s most legendary individuals.
Set in the Pride Lands, the film delves into themes of identity, legacy, and the muddy seas of royal claim. Mufasa is portrayed as a plucky underdog rather than a predestined king, drawing parallels with historical individuals who challenged entrenched power. This portrayal addresses societal concerns such as nepotism and the complexities of familial devotion.
Mufasa and Taka’s sibling rivalry (later Scar) echoes the Cain and Abel narrative, suggesting that envy can lead to tragic consequences. However, the framing method, which features Rafiki repeating Mufasa’s story, adds a metatextual layer by honoring storytelling traditions that span generations.

Batgirl is arguably Batman’s most loyal soldier in his war on crime, but Cassandra Cain stands on the verge of a dangerous transformation. Agreeing to work with her mother against a deadly assassin organization, this uneasy alliance will push Cass’s morals to the breaking point as each compromise under Shiva’s influence threatens to drag her further down a slippery slope, where one move too far could lead to her fall from Bat-Family grace.
Cass will be forced into complex situations where she must choose: oppose her mother’s actions, ignore them, or even become complicit.
Set to release on December 4, 2024, Batgirl #2 by Tate Brombal, Takeshi Miyazawa, Mike Spicer, and Rob Levin picks up where issue #1 left off, with Cassandra Cain and her mother, Lady Shiva, on the run from the Unburied—a deadly group of assassins bent on killing both of them.

Warning: Spoilers for Batgirl #1!DC just brought an abandoned Batgirl codename back in an exciting way, in the debut issue of the character's new solo series. Cassandra Cain can be viewed as Batman's greatest success and as Batgirl, Batman's one true successor. However, fans often forget that she wasn't always Batgirl. Very briefly, she went under the name Orphan, but because the name never caught on with readers, Cass reverted to Batgirl.
Batgirl #1 written by Tate Brombal, with art by Takeshi Miyazawa takes a moment to pay homage to Cass' time as Orphan and what that part of her identity means to her.
Whether readers remember that part of the character's early history as a DC hero or not, it's still something that happened and, thus, plays a pivotal part into who Batgirl is today. In other words, if Batgirl can respect her past as Orphan, so should fans.

Even among Marvel's most powerful characters, few can match the strength of Juggernaut or the Red Hulk. The heights of that strength have led a few fans to wonder exactly what would happen if the two beings fought, and while they never have, there's a bit of evidence to suggest who would win.
Unfortunately, Red Hulk and Cain Marko's Juggernaut have never fought in the comics, though Red Hulk has fought the Colossus' Juggernaut. That they have never actually fought on the page calls into question if Juggernaut could actually defeat the legendary Red Hulk in a fight, and there's evidence for both sides. On the one hand, Cain Marko has some truly absurd feats of strength, and he's gone up against people of similar power, like Bruce Banner's Hulk.

Ethel Cain has unveiled “Punish,” the first single from her upcoming album, Perverts, which is set for release on January 8th, 2025.
The sparse, haunting, piano track is nearly seven minutes long, and the accompanying black-and-white music video offers eerie vignettes consistent with the Southern Gothic aesthetic established in 2022’s Preacher’s Daughter. As the song continues, the sound gradually builds, incorporating charged guitars and increasing the volume until the energy is all-encompassing.
“Shame is sharp, and my skin gives so easy/ Only God knows, only God would believe/ That I was an angel, but they made me leave,” she sings.
In a statement about the song, she mused, “I wonder how deep shame can run, and how unforgivable an act could be that I may still justify it in some bent way to make carrying it more bearable. Would I tell myself it’s not my fault and I couldn’t help myself?...

Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley encountered some wild villains during his Beverly Hills Cop misadventures, but some way rank higher than others. The Beverly Hills Cop movies are basically Eddie Murphy showing off his movie star prowess, with the original 1984 film only cementing his growing fame. Murphy also hated the Beverly Hills Cop sequels (though his stance on the second film has softened greatly) so much it took him 30 years to work up the enthusiasm for a fourth outing.
While Netflix's belated Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F was far from flawless, it underlined that Murphy's star power remains intact. Time will tell if Beverly Hills Cop 5 will happen, but given the positive response to part four, there's a good possibility. Murphy's Axel is so overpowering in the films that the villains often fail to register, which has been a problem. In short, most of his antagonists have been a bit lame,...

In Detective Comics #1084, Cassandra Cain's mother, the assassin Lady Shiva, offers a unique perspective on how the current Batgirl can honor Batman in his absence, at a time when he is believed to have been killed. Lady Shiva's deep understanding of Batman's wishes for Cassandra prove, in a roundabout way, that she shouldn't be underestimated as an antagonist even as she uses her powers of perception and keen psychological insight in this case to comfort her daughter. Detective Comics #1084 marks Batman's return to Gotham, though not before exploring how Batgirl coped in his absence, and using his alleged death to give DC readers a fascinating moment between Cain and her mother, Shiva.

The legal battle between Journey keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Jonathan Cain and lead guitarist Neal Schon is still going, with the former filing a new lawsuit against the latter for alleged lavish spending at the band’s expense. What makes the ongoing legal issues especially awkward is that both Cain and Schon are active members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act, currently sharing the stage together on a summer North American tour with Def Leppard.
According to Bloomberg, Cain’s lawsuit, publicly filed on Tuesday (July 30th), alleges that Schon maxed out an American Express credit card with a $1 million limit and blew past a $1,500-per-night hotel allowance, while also chartering private jets and hiring a friend as a security guard. The keyboardist also accuses the guitarist of preventing the band from paying its debts.

Gh Spoilers: Will Nina’s Budding Feelings For Drew Be Returned — And Won’t Willow’s Feelings Matter?
General Hospital spoilers reveal Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) thought she was keeping a pretty tight lid on her feelings for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
In fact, she hadn’t even confessed them to herself before noticing how happy it made her to see Drew horsing around with her grandson, Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), in the Metro Court Hotel pool.
General Hospital Spoilers — Nina Reeves And Drew Cain Romancing
Once again, she has only shared her revised interpretation of Drew’s personality and character with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) — who doesn’t really seem like she wants to know any of this.
That’s a stark difference from Maxie’s normally nosey self, especially when it comes to all things romance.
That being said, what Nina and Drew have been engaging in is far from what most people would categorize as romance.
Still, we saw how vehemently Drew responded to Nina...

Gareth Edwards' new film in the "Jurassic Park/World" series hasn't yet been given an official title, but — according to a report in Variety — may likely be called "Jurassic City." It will be the seventh film to be based on Michael Crichton's 1990 adventure novel.
The new film will be written by longtime blockbuster scribe David Koepp, and is being described as "a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island." The Island is presumably Isla Nublar, the fictional Costa Rican island where Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" (1993) took place.
It may be generous to call the story "completely fresh," as "characters trapped on an island with dinosaurs" is also the plot of "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," "Jurassic Park III," and "Jurassic World." Only "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" and "Jurassic World: Dominion" don't take place entirely on a remote,...

Storyline aside, the strangeness encapsulating Outer Range Season 2 (and the previous season) is mind-bending.
While some questions from the previous season are answered, even more are left on the table, along with a suggestion of trouble surrounding the timeline of events.
Outer Range dives headlong into the concept of time travel, a science fiction genre that often derails movies and shows that embrace it.
While time travel will always be an exciting and intriguing topic to the audience, it also means that a resolute ending point in the season finale is nothing more than a pipe dream.
The Status of the Mysterious Hole
The hinge point from which Outer Range's bizarrely shaped door swings is the gigantic, dark hole in the middle of the Abbott family's western pasture.
Though there are indications that the hole is not the catalyst for time travel, at least not by physically throwing someone in it,...

Ethel Cain wants her concerts to be pure fun. After fans complained about negative behavior from fellow concertgoers at Cain’s shows, the “Strangers” singer urged her fans to treat each other with respect.
“I very much hate hearing that anyone attending our shows walked away with a negative experience because of bad behavior in the pit,” Cain wrote on her Instagram Story ahead of a show in London. “Barreling to the front, slapping people’s hands away when I reach for them, verbally insulting people, it’s all just not very nice.

Not all is well in Wyoming, and Outer Range Season 2 Episode 6 kicks things off with the surety that Autumn is Amy, and Rhett is finally figuring more into the picture.
If there’s been an overarching issue with the Outer Range series so far, it's been covering all of the various characters and subplots it has going on.
Rhett and Marie have been a part of the whole, yet it feels like they are almost entirely irrelevant to the plot.
We also get more of a glimpse into Rebecca and Amy’s doings, another two that feel almost irrelevant.
If not for their presence in terms of the aura they set over the entire Abbott family, they could easily be forgotten.
On the bright side, it looks like Joy took Royal’s advice, telling her wife Martha all about her four years in the 1880s.
It pays off, as Martha...

The Cylons, androids created by man, are the villains of "Battlestar Galactica," but they wear human guises. This reflects how the show's human heroes are all deeply flawed people and humanity's foibles (from arrogance to self-destructive) continue to haunt them even as their technology soars past the modern day.

Villains Inc. marries supervillain chaos and the workplace comedy. The charmingly chaotic movie follows three henchpeople -- Beatrix, Harold and Cain -- who find themselves struggling to get by after the death of their boss. How are they supposed to get through the day, let alone try to take over the world? Pinky and the Brain have nothing on this trio of put-upon criminals.
Yet the reason the film works is the entertaining characters drawn by a cast of improv and sketch comedy veterans. Studio C's Mallory Everton stars as Beatrix, who refuses to take her new circumstances sitting down. Colin Mochrie fans from the hit comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway? will enjoy just how off the handle Harold can be. In an interview with Cbr, both actors spoke about how they found their characters and the fun behind the scenes of Villains Inc., which is in movie theaters now.

Nathan Zellner and David Zellner’s Sasquatch Sunset is stomping into circa 850 theaters this weekend after debuting in 9 with a solid opening for a film many could find weird. A tribe of Sasquatch, possibly the last of their kind, live and love in the woods of northern California, where it was shot.
“We are taking Bigfoot to America. We have high hopes that the broader market will embrace the movie,” says Kyle Davies of distributor Bleecker Street, calling it “a very different” kind of movie and “a bit of an unknown.”
“It’s a wildcard.”
Marketing was mainly through social activations. “I wouldn’t call it traditional marketing. It doesn’t really fit in that box,” Davies adds. The Sasquatch standees in theaters are fun. And Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is displaying a baby Sasquatch sitting in a glass case with umbilical cord and placenta.
This is “a polarizing film.

This Fallout article contains spoilers.
For years, Fallout fans have wondered who started the nuclear war that eventually led to the end of the world as we know it. Well, Amazon’s Fallout series offers an answer to that question, and some fans may not be happy with what it has to say.

The main reason for such an evil act is simple: greed. After all, if there’s no war, Vault-Tec’s most valuable product, a vault meant to protect citizens from nukes and the fallout thereafter, would go to waste.
