BBC Radio 4's adaptation of Good Omens is temporarily available to stream for free to coincide with the return of the Prime Video series.

As of this writing, four of the six episodes of the audio drama are available to stream on BBC Sounds, with the other two being posted soon. The series stars Mark Heap as Aziraphale and Peter Serafinowicz as Crowley, an angel and a demon who conspire against their superiors to avert the apocalypse -- only to realize they've misplaced the Antichrist. Louise Brealy, Phil Davis, Mark Benton, Colin Morgan, Paterson Joseph, Josie Lawrence, Jim Norton, Adam Thomas Wright and Hollie Burgess co-star. Originally aired in 2004, the miniseries is adapted, sound-designed and co-directed by Dirk Maggs and based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, who both cameo in the program as well.

Actress-singer Shruti Haasan has added another feather to her cap as she lends her voice to the international audio drama ‘Sandman: Act lll’. This comes just days after Shruti released her english single ‘She is A Hero’ which was loved by audiences and critics alike for its strong messaging and music.

The third instalment of the New York Times best-selling, multi part original audio drama series has been released exclusively on Audible by DC. Shruti plays the character of a Landlady at the worlds end inn in the series.

This year’s New York Comic Con will be available to fans across the globe, not just those lucky enough to be in town for the event.

The 2020 panels featured will be made virtually available, with live and prerecorded content available to watch on the Nycc YouTube page. “Star Trek” and “The Stand” have been announced as the latest panels, joining a list of shows including “Animaniacs” and “Doctor Who” that have already been revealed.

This year’s schedule will offer fans the ability to engage in virtual Q&As, as well as communicate with other fans through live chat features on YouTube. Insight into new shows like Hulu’s “Helstrom,” trivia competitions revolving around fan-favorite series and a virtual marketplace will offer fans a virtual experience akin to the in-person event.

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” universe, BBC America’s “Doctor Who” and Hulu’s upcoming Marvel series “Helstrom” are among the first wave of panels announced for this year’s fully virtual New York Comic Con.

Each panel will take place between Oct. 8 and Oct. 11. on the event’s YouTube page, and various YouTube community features will be available for engaging in Q&As or chatting with other fans.

Some of the panels offer first looks and insight into upcoming series, such as “Helstrom” and the upcoming “Animaniacs” reboot. Others will center around long-time fan favorites. During the “Archer” panel, for example, the show’s cast will engage in a trivia contest, hosted by executive producer Casey Willis. A spotlight on “Doctor Who” is also included in the lineup, with actors Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill engaging in a discussion about the past two seasons of the show.

The Netflix adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” will be slightly different than the original comic book series. While discussing the incredibly popular graphic novel and audio adaptation on the DC FanDome panel with Dirk Maggs, G. Willow Wilson and Michael Sheen, Gaiman revealed the status for the hotly anticipated upcoming Netflix adaptation that was announced in 2019.

When pressed for details on the long-awaited series, Gaiman first stated the obvious; due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, everything has been on pause. However, the author revealed that he had been using that time to get the script as “close to perfect as we can.” A task he admits, was rather fun.

“Right now as the universal pause button is starting to come off, we’re starting to cast again,” Gaiman said. “I’m getting these inspiring and wonderful emails with production designs with places that I’d only ever seen in the comics before,...

Fans hoping for major DC news in lieu of an actual San Diego Comic-Con are definitely going to get just that at DC FanDome, a digital event designed to be watched at home like a real con.

Originally set up as one epic night of panels and reveals, DC announced that it will be splitting FanDome into two separate and distinct events: Hall of Heroes, which will be held in late August, and WatchVerse in mid-September.

The August date still holds most of the big-ticket items. It’s billed by DC as “an epic world designed personally by Jim Lee featuring special programming, panels and exclusive reveals from a wide variety of films, TV series, games, comics and more.” Functionally, it’s the Hall H of FanDome.

DC and Audible are gearing up to bring Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman to ears everywhere. Gaiman will serve as the creative director, executive producer, and narrator on the project, which will be available exclusively on Audible in summer 2020.

Dirk Maggs, who has worked on audio adaptations of Gaiman’s Neverwhere, Stardust, Good Omens, and Anansi Boys, will serve as executive producer, scriptwriter, and director for the project. In addition to his Gaiman adaptations, he has helmed the DC audio productions The Trial of Superman, Superman: To Doomsday & Beyond, and Batman: Knightfall.

Alien fans rejoice! William Gibson's original script for Alien 3 is being turned into an audiobook by Audible. Not only that, but Michael Biehn is returning to reprise his role as Corporal Hicks for the audio dramatization of the story. This is, all around, great news for fans of the franchise. Not only because we're currently in a bit of a dry spell on the movie front ever since Alien: Covenant was released, but this will allow us to experience what could have been in perhaps the most authentic way possible.

Alien 3 was stuck in development at Fox for some time following the success of James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens, which was the first sequel to Ridley Scott's original sci-fi classic. Alien: River Of Pain, the novel by Christopher Maggs, has been given a glossy audio drama adaptation by Dirk Maggs and the fine folks at Audible.

The story is set before and during the events of Aliens, offering further details about the Hadley’s Hope colony of Lv-426, what went wrong there, and how the decision was made to send Ripley, Burke, Bishop and the Colonial Marines to investigate.

A number of cast members from the film reprise their roles: William Hope as Lieutenant Gorman, Mac MacDonald as Colony Administrator Al Simpson, Stuart Milligan as the salvager that found Ripley drifting in deep space, and Alibe Parsons as Gateway Station’s med tech.

HeyUGuys were on hand to witness the beaming of Audible’s new audio drama Alien: River of Pain into space at an exclusive first-listen event. It was held at the stunning Royal Observatory in Greenwich’s planetarium ahead of the audio drama’s release on 26th April, which is officially Alien Day.

In many ways the location is perfect for such an event as the Royal Observatory Greenwich is one of the most important historic scientific sites in the world. Since its founding in 1675, Greenwich has been at the centre of the measurement of time and space, and you can actually still stand on the historic Prime Meridian line there. In many ways it was completely surreal to be there to witness an occasion that was part Carl Sagan’s Contact and part showbiz extravaganza at its finest.

On a grey afternoon in Greenwich, I trundled through a park and struggled up an incline to reach London’s Royal Observatory. I was lured into this physical exertion by the promise of canapés, drinks and sneak peek at Alien: River Of Pain, a new Audible drama that will bridge the gap between Ridley Scott’s Alien and James Cameron’s Aliens.

After taking a second to catch my breath and immortalise the iconic London skyline with a half-arsed smartphone photo, I said my awkward hellos, stashed my belongings in a cloakroom and made my way into the event. As promised, bubbly was flowing and tiny nibbles were being circulated.

Staff carried snacks atop rectangular glass cases, which contained little black rocks. Space-y looking rocks.

Audible Studios will release “The X-Files: Cold Cases,” an Audible Original production that will star the voice talents of Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny and a full cast, the studio announced Monday. Besides Agents Scully and Mulder, fans will also get to revisit old friends Walter Skinner (Mitch PIleggi), the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis), and the Lone Gunmen Melvin Frohike, Richard “Ringo” Langly and John Fitzgerald Byers (Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Bruce Harwood).

A year after Fox revived The X-Files, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are once again stepping into the roles of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder for a new audiobook. X-Files: Cold Cases, an original production by Audible, presents brand-new stories for the pair, providing a backstory to the characters' lives between the movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe and last year's miniseries. It will come out on July 18th.

I’ve read quite a lot of reports from the press launch of Doctor Who’s tenth series earlier in the week. I’ve read about the massive spoiler that’s coming up at the end of the first episode, The Pilot (one that everyone managed to keep themselves, until The Sun decided to spoil it for everybody in exchange for a few clicks). I’ve read about the wish to downplay the fact that one of the characters in the show is attracted to people of her own gender. I’ve seen fair chunks of clickbait that then repeat these stories over and over.

Series one and two of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith's consistently inventive, continually surprising anthology strand Inside No. 9 have recently landed on Netflix UK, which will hopefully bring it to the attention of those who didn't catch it on the first run. Amos first signalled her fandom of Gaiman's Sandman series as far back as her 1992 debut solo album Little Earthquakes with the Tear In Your Hand lyric "If you need me, me and Neil'll be hanging out with the Dream King".

Amid the cosy repeats, big movies and inescapable cranberry-stuffed cookery shows on TV this month are a few original gems. Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton’s Inside No. 9 festive special The Devil Of Christmas (Tuesday the 27th of December, 10pm, BBC Two) is top of our must-watch list. Hot on its heels is Yonderland’s family friendly Yonder Yuletide (Saturday the 24th of December, 6.30pm, Sky One). Another for families on Sky is the Christmas Day Jasper Fforde adaptation The Last Dragonslayer, while Channel 4 has the non-festive-but-essential-for-fans-of smart-sci-fi Humans series two finale (Sunday the 18th of December, 9pm).

Neverwhere prequel How The Marquis Got His Coat Back and Stardust are the next Neil Gaiman dramas coming to BBC Radio 4...

That BBC Radio 4 is following up its successful 2013 Neverwhere adaptation with a one-off audio dramatisation of a Neverwhere prequel short story has been something of an open secret* these past months.

How The Marquis Got His Coat Back produced and directed by Dirk Maggs and Heather Larmour, featuring voice performances from Adrian Lester, Paterson Joseph, Don Warrington, Bernard Cribbins and more, will be broadcast in November.

BBC Radio 4 evidently hasn't finished raiding Gaiman's archives either. A two-part dramatisation of his 1999 novel Stardust, which was made into a 2007 film directed by Matthew Vaughan, will come to the airwaves this Christmas.

Deadline is reporting that Us movie and TV producer Mark Gordon has joined forces with The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence on two new television projects, one of which is to be a new version of Neil Gaiman and Lenny Henry's Neverwhere.

Attention sci-fi fans looking grumpily ahead at the next few weeks' shorts-and-spherical-object-packed TV schedules: radio is your sanctuary.

Specifically, BBC Radio Four and its second season of dystopian and science-fiction drama is your sanctuary. Tomorrow, Saturday the 14th of June, a run of eleven new dramatisations offering "clever, imaginative and disturbing takes on what the future might hold" begins under the umbrella title: Dangerous Visions.
