Mike Lobel is a Canadian picture editor, director, actor and musician. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to parents of Polish and Ashkenazi Jewish descent and grew up alongside his two siblings.

Lobel showed an early interest in music and began studying drums at the age of nine. Later, he attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts, where he majored in music and drama. During this time, he formed musical groups, including "Civilian" and "Boys Who Say No," and began exploring acting.

Lobel's first film role was in an adaptation of Oliver Twist, entitled Twist (2003), which was directed by Jacob Tierney and starring Nick Stahl. However, Lobel's most notable role to date is that of "Jay Hogart," a manipulative school bully on MTV's Degrassi: La nouvelle génération (2001).

In 2009, Lobel starred in the film Suck (2009) as "Sam," the drummer of a touring rock and roll band besieged by vampires. He starred alongside rock & roll legends Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins and Iggy Pop. He also appeared on television shows like Sue Thomas, l'oeil du FBI (2002), The Best Years (2007), and the HBO Max series Detention Adventure (2019). He has also starred in films such as Innocence à vendre (2005), Booky Makes Her Mark (2006), and Degrassi Goes Hollywood (2009).

In addition to acting, Lobel co-founded the synth-pop band Future Peers in 2014 and has toured with the group across Canada, America, and Europe. He also began working as a picture editor in 2016, which led to his involvement in the production of HBO Max's Detention Adventure as an editor and director. Mike has also been an editor and director of several music videos and documentaries.

Lobel's work on Detention Adventure earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination in 2023.
