I'm not breaking new ground when I say that Adam Scott is excellent on "Severance." This isn't a hot take; it's decidedly room-temperature. Technically, Scott plays two characters on Dan Erickson's twisted take on a "workplace comedy," even though they are the same person: Mark Scout, a miserable man who lost his wife Gemma (Dichen Lachman) in a tragic car accident, and to deal with his overwhelming grief, who takes a job at Lumon Industries that offers a procedure called "severance" that splits his consciousness into two distinct parts. When he leaves work, he's stuck being plain old Mark Scout, but at work, on the "severed" floor, he's Mark S., a willing acolyte of Lumon who has no idea that he ever had a wife, let alone lost one.

The story of Off the Record begins with a premise that feels both timeless and distinctly contemporary. We meet Astor Grey, a singer-songwriter navigating the hopeful, often thankless, landscape of the Los Angeles music scene. Her ambition is palpable, a quiet fire fueling her performances in small venues.
The film sets its hook when one such performance, captured on video, finds its way to the screen of Brandyn Verge, a rock star whose fame has seen brighter days. His interest is immediate, a digital message sliding into her life with the promise of something more. What follows is the blueprint of a modern fairy tale: the undiscovered talent given a shot at stardom by an established name.
Their meeting blossoms into an instant romance intertwined with a professional opportunity, a chance for Astor to record her debut album. The initial moments capture the intoxicating rush of a dream taking flight,...

The NBC jury has reached a verdict, your honor, and it is bad news for Night Court fans. The reboot of the classic Reinhold Weege sitcom was firmly on the bubble for the network after drawing a more modest audience than its first two seasons under Dan Rubin. In the end, Melissa Rauch will not be returning to the bench as Judge Abby Stone for Season 4, as the series has been cancelled per Deadline. The news comes just days after Season 3 served out the final two episodes of its 18-episode sentence with a bombshell reveal that changed everything for Judge Stone.
Night Court kicked off on a white-hot note when it debuted in 2023. According to Nielsen ratings at the time, the reboot had been NBC's biggest comedy premiere since 2017, only being surpassed by the reboot of Will & Grace. Since then, the series settled into a groove, bringing zany courtroom...

After eighteen humor-filled episodes that left viewers eager for more, Night Court Season 3 ended less than twenty-four hours ago with such an epic cliffhanger. This is a huge understatement, of course, but making movies is hard. They’re gigantic, coordinated efforts between the on-screen talent, creatives, producers, studios, camera operators, and on-set assistants. The list goes on and on. Just getting a movie made is a massive accomplishment. Anyone who manages to do that should be forever proud of that fact. But with some movies, that’s where the pride ends. Unfortunately, Off the Record is one of those movies.

Since his first appearance in an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger, Taylor Sheridan has proved there’s not much he can’t do in the world of TV. Best known for being a writer, producer and director of some of TV’s biggest shows, including Yellowstone, Lioness and Landman, Sheridan made his start as a TV actor in several hit shows of the late 90s and early 2000s.
One such show was Veronica Mars, the CW teen drama about a high school detective. While not his first credited role, Sheridan played his first recurring role as criminal Danny Boyd. Later taking on bigger TV roles, including David Hale in Sons of Anarchy, Sheridan’s role as Boyd was a turning point in his early career.

First aired in 2004, Veronica Mars quickly set itself apart from other teen dramas of the era.

This article may contain spoilers for Night Court season 3.Season 3 of Night Court has gotten off to a rough start, which has arguably impacted some of the early storylines surrounding the characters in Night Court season 3. For example, Judge Abby Stone's (Melissa Rauch) determination to seek the truth regarding whether she and her boyfriend Jake (Ryan Hansen) are half-siblings and the question of whether John Larroquette's public defender Dan Fielding is Jake's father were wrapped up too quickly during the first two episodes.
The absence of prosecutor India de Beaufort's Olivia Moore in Night Court season 3 is also evident, considering her comedic timing and repertoire with the protagonists during the first two seasons. However, Rauch's The Big Bang Theory co-star, Mayim Bialik, will guest star in Night Court season 3, episode 5, "Mayim Worst Enemy," likely giving the show a much-needed boost of star power to elevate its ratings.

Night Court season 3 premiered November 19 and drops new episodes Tuesdays on NBC. The series has featured a handful of cast shake-ups throughout its run, starting with Nyambi Nyambi, whose character took over as court clerk after Kapil Talwalkar's exit. Night Court's most recent change occurred when Olivia Moore announced her departure, leaving the show without a district attorney. However, rather than introducing a new face, the latest batch of installments sees Wendie Malick's Julianne Walters take on a series regular role.
Julianne is described as a "sophisticated, savvy woman and accomplished attorney who also knows how to make a shank out of a spoon." The role is surprising given that Julianne was previously sent to prison, but her chaotic nature makes for a more entertaining dynamic within the Manhattan Municipal Courtroom. Malick shares that she enjoys playing misunderstood characters, and teases that Julianne's presence will keep things interesting for everyone.

The Night Court revival series only features one main cast member as a series regular, with John Larroquette starring as Dan Fielding. It's been a bittersweet experience for the actor, as several of his co-stars of the original series have since passed away.
In the Season 2 finale of the sequel series, the show referenced Christine Sullivan, the character played by the late Markie Post in the original Night Court. Gigi Rice was introduced as Christine's sister, appearing at the wedding of a returning Roz (Marsha Warfield). In an interview with TV Insider, Larroquette spoke about the tribute to Post and hinted that there may be other tributes to come, as long as they never feel forced. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Night Court Season 3 Episode 1, “The Judge’s Boyfriend’s Dad.”] The truth has a funny way of coming out. After Abby (Melissa Rauch) spent the entire Night Court Season 3 premiere trying to shield Dan Fielding (John Larroquette) and new boyfriend Jake (Ryan Hansen) from catching wind of the possibility that they could be father and son, the episode ended with them finding out anyway. The premiere kicked off with Abby having a nightmare about Dan and Jake finding out this secret and responding with anger, leaving her panicked when she woke up. Abby visited Ryan’s mother, Susan (Julia Duffy), in the hospital to get answers about the identity of Jake’s father, but the drugged-up Susan could provide little answers. Jake’s mannerisms started to slightly mimic Dan’s, making Abby even more worried. Dan, meanwhile, was none the wiser as he was busy dealing with the new courtroom prosecutor,...

Dropping new episodes on Tuesdays, Night Court season 3 premieres November 19 at 8:30 p.m. Et/Pt on NBC. The multi-camera sitcom ended on a massive cliffhanger, leaving fans reeling long after the season 2 finale blinked off their screens. "The Best Dan" sees Melissa Rauch's character, Abby, decide to take the next step in her relationship with Jake (Ryan Hansen) at Roz's (Marsha Warfield) wedding. However, she makes a startling discovery when she speaks with Jake's mom.
Susan reveals that she dated a lawyer who worked in the Manhattan courtroom about a year before her son was born. Abby appears to be in shock, suddenly noticing an uncanny resemblance between Dan and her boyfriend. The episode ends with Flobert coming to the same realization and telling Abby that Jake may be Dan's biological son (and that he's out of cake pops).

“Night Court” kicked off Season 3 with an expansion of the parenting mystery set up in the Season 2 finale, which star and EP Melissa Rauch said presents a “major bump in the road” for Abby and Jake’s budding romance.
After leaving off with the unsettling realization that Dan (John Larroquette) might be the biological father of her boyfriend, Jake (Ryan Hansen), Abby (Rauch) goes on a mission to discover the truth — and the stakes are heightened when she realizes Jake’s mom (Julia Duffy) might’ve also dated her father.
“As we were working toward the season finale last year, we knew we wanted to go out on something that would be a story generator that would propel us into Season 3,” Rauch told TheWrap. “[Ryan Hansen] was just supposed to come in for one episode last season playing our Hr rep...

Night Court season 3 premieres November 19 on NBC and drops new episodes weekly on Tuesdays. Its return has been highly anticipated following the massive cliffhanger at the end of the season 2 finale. "The Best Dan" sees Abby (Melissa Rauch) and Jake (Ryan Hansen) attempt to keep their relationship casual, despite having serious feelings for one another. It becomes evident at Roz's (Marsha Warfield) wedding that they both want to embrace what's between them, regardless of the risk.
However, the real plot twist occurs when Jake opens up about his absent father, and Abby discovers a possible connection between his mom and Dan. A rather indicative shot shows Jake and Dan parallel one another, immediately making Abby wonder if her boyfriend's father has been in front of them all along. The credits roll seconds after Flobert gasps alongside the judge and says what she's thinking aloud for the audience.
