Stephen A. Smith has become the latest target of “The Daily Show,” with the late night program releasing a new biofilm mocking the sports television personality for his various on-air takes.
The nearly 7-minute video, titled “Stephen A. Smith: Greatest of All Take-Havers,” starts with a look at his childhood, with Smith saying he was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens with the “greatest mom in the world.”
“That’s right, every other mom in the world is a scrub. I don’t care if your mother, Theresa, or that hot mom from The Brady Bunch,” Craig Kilborn says in a voice narration. “Those moms should be riding the bench behind Janet Smith.”
It proceeds to jump forward Smith’s enrollment at the Fashion Institute of Technology, which Kilborn said “might not have greatest tradition of sports” but “definitely had a playoff.”

Of all the annoying text chains to be a part of, Seth Meyers is pretty sure that being on one with Elon Musk is probably pretty bad. In fact, on Thursday night, the NBC late night host imagined exactly how it probably goes.
Following Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s messy breakup via social media on Thursday, members of the administration have been forced to take sides. During his “A Closer Look” segment, Meyers offered sympathy for House Speaker Mike Johnson losing a friend in Musk, reminding viewers that as recently as December, Johnson bragged about being in a group text with Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
“Can you imagine how much it sucks to be on a text chain with Elon Musk?” Meyers marveled, before making up a possible conversation.
“Johnson: ‘Doge should cut Medicaid.’ Vivek: ‘We should also look at social security.’ Musk: ‘We’re renaming it to Updoge.

President Donald Trump’s second administration is already starting to lose key figures less than six months into the term, but White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is going to stick around for as long as her neck can support the weight of her cross necklace.
Just as Trump’s first White House featured a revolving door of politicians, insiders and favored business associates accepting and then leaving high-level positions on a seemingly weekly basis, so, too, is the President’s second attempt at keeping a stable of obedient cronies showing leaks in the ship. On Sunday night, controversial tech magnate Elon Musk confirmed his departure from the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, which lost its first co-head Vivek Ramaswamy before it even existed. Musk's exit comes just months after calling himself Trump’s “first buddy” as he accompanied the president on the campaign trail.

Following former president Joe Biden’s diagnosis of an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer, political figures like Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and more are sharing their well wishes to the veteran politician.
“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis,” the former vice president shared on X. “We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. They have been virtually inseparable since the closing weeks of the 2024 campaign, but their closeness has precipitated a question that looms over the relationship: when will Donald Trump and Elon Musk part ways?
Two men famed for their egos, temperamental attitudes, spotlight-hogging, and lust for unlimited power surely can’t maintain a lasting political alliance, many observers have argued. And the first Trump administration was remarkable for its rate of turnover, cycling through advisors and officials at such a rate that some are best known for the brevity of their tenure.

Donald Trump is — at least publicly — attempting to reign in Elon Musk and the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) amid growing pushback from the public, Congress, and members of the president’s Cabinet.
On Thursday, Trump reportedly told his Cabinet members during a White House meeting that they would be in charge of the hiring and firing decisions within their agencies. The decision is a stark departure from how the administration has operated its first two months in office, giving Musk virtually unchecked authority to cut large swaths of federal departments and agencies.

Octavia Spencer channeled her Oscar-winning role from “The Help” to send a blunt message to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (Doge). In the words of Minny Jackson: Eat my shit.
“Bake sale for Washington to All Doge employees and supporters,” Spencer wrote while sharing a photo from “The Help” of Minny holding up her notorious poop pie. “I need good vanilla from Mexico and some Canadian maple syrup. #limitedEdition pies. Corn and chocolate. Need lots of donations for the special ingredient. Eat looooooooots of corn. One time sale. Fill out the cards below. Who would you send a pie to?”
Spencer ended the post with “#MinnyJacksonCallToAction.” In “The Help,” Spencer’s Minny gets revenge on the manipulative socialite Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard) by baking her a chocolate pie made with Minny’s poop. The scene in the film culminates with Minny triumphantly telling Hilly: “Eat my shit!

The headquarters of the U.S. military has responded to a protest by some news organizations over the planned eviction of mainstream media outlets from its shared office space within the Pentagon by expanding the eviction list.
On Friday, Pentagon spokesperson John Ullyot distributed a memo to affected news outlets notifying them of the expanded eviction list, which also named the news organizations and publications that will move into the affected office space.
Initially, four news organizations — NBC News, National Public Radio (NPR), the New York Times and Politico — were affected by a new initiative called the Annual Media Rotation Program (Ampr), which involved the sharing of limited office space in a section of the Pentagon called Correspondents’ Corridor where members of the media have operated for decades.

Moving forward, the federal agency tasked with investigating transportation-related accidents and disasters said news organizations and reporters will have to follow the agency’s official account on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, where “all Ntsb updates about news conferences or other investigative information” will be posted moving forward.
The Ntsb did not say why it was choosing to post information about public safety matters exclusively on X, a private social media platform owned by technology mogul Elon Musk, who has curried favor with President Donald Trump in recent weeks. The Department of Defense is evicting a number of traditional news outlets from their long-time offices at the Pentagon and will allow right-of-center TV networks and publications to move into that shared space later this month.
The changes affect the Correspondents’ Corridor, a set of offices loaned to print, television and radio publications over the years with the goal of giving established news outlets greater access to the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. military, and its officials.
Starting February 14, the Pentagon says a number of those organizations — specifically, the New York Times, NBC News, National Public Radio (NPR) and Politico — will no longer occupy offices at the Pentagon. The Department of Government Efficiency’s first order of business was itself: It’s now down to one leader.
Vivek Ramaswamy is no longer part of the commission that President Donald Trump championed, officials confirmed hours after the Republican took office Monday, and that leaves billionaire Elon Musk to run the cost-cutting operation alone.
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur who sought the GOP nomination for president in 2024, has signaled plans to run for governor of Ohio next year. A native of Cincinnati, Ramaswamy, 39, had shown interest in Vice President Jd Vance’s recently vacated Senate seat before Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine chose Lt. Gov. Jon Husted as Vance’s successor.
“Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in helping us create Doge,” Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for the commission, said in a statement. “He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of Doge, based on the structure that we announced today.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) passed over entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy for the Ohio Senate vacated by Vice President-elect J.D. Vance. DeWine selected Lt. Gov. Jon Husted (R) to fill the seat on Saturday.
In November, Ramaswamy announced he is working alongside X CEO Elon Musk on Donald Trump‘s newly created Department of Government Efficiency (Doge).
DeWine met with the entrepreneur last weekend at the Governor’s mansion in Columbus to discuss the Senate vacancy. Trump encouraged Ramaswamy to accept the appointment if the governor offered it.
DeWine told News 5 Cleveland that, in addition to meeting with Ramaswamy, he had “met with a lot of people,” adding that his team has “a lot of good people.”
Vance resigned last week before his swearing-in as vice president on Monday.

Cameron Diaz’s return to acting after 11 years in Netflix’s “Back in Action” means she’s also on her first movie press tour in more than a decade. Joining co-star Jamie Foxx for a video interview with Complex, the “Charlie’s Angels” favorite threw some shade at president-elect Donald Trump by saying it’s actually Elon Musk who is our new president. Trump and Musk are friends, with the SpaceX founder and X owner donating millions to Trump’s presidential campaign last year.
At one point during their interview, Foxx asked Diaz about online conspiracies. She answered by giving her views on aliens and recounting one theory that claims humans will all be living on Mars in the future.

Seth Meyers went on an epic Boy Meets World rant on his show Late Night with Seth Meyers, and didn't hold back that Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) made a mistake by proposing to Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) during their high school graduation. One of the main storylines of the show was his relationship with Topanga, showing them growing closer together and eventually getting married.

Earlier this year, the US House of Representatives passed the Ticket Act, a proposed bill with the goal of increasing pricing transparency in the ticket industry and banning speculative ticketing practices. Just a few days ago, it was set to pass in the US Senate as part of a continuing resolution spending bill, but due to recent actions from President-Elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the Ticket Act is now in limbo.
Though the bipartisan deal had been endorsed by Republican leadership, Trump demanded it be scrapped on Wednesday with the support of his advisors Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as they pushed for more spending cuts. Jimmy Kimmel had a lot to say about Elon Musk‘s meeting with Republican lawmakers on Thursday, December 5, comparing it to when a kid gets to visit the cockpit of a plane. On Thursday, billionaires Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy met with Congress to discuss plans for their Donald Trump-backed Department of Government Efficiency Group (Doge). Later that night, Kimmel shared his thoughts on the meeting in his opening monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, the Lenny and Squiggy of Trump Town, met with Republicans in Washington today to discuss their new Department of Government Efficiency,” Kimmel said. “We don’t know all of what went on in the meeting. We can assume that there were a lot of missed high fives.” The late-night host continued, “But other than that, all we know is that one of the Congress people they met with was Marjorie Taylor Green,...

Donald Trump has to wait another month and a half until he can start issuing executive orders as president. But Doge, his newly announced and nebulously defined Department of Government Efficiency, spearheaded by businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, is already up and running — at least as a social media account.
On the Musk-owned platform X (formerly Twitter), Doge bears the gray verification checkmark of an official government entity, even though Trump isn’t in the White House and the department itself has not been established in any formal capacity.

Trumpian rich boys Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have become quite chummy since being gifted positions as powerful unelected bureaucrats influencing the finances of the federal government — but things weren’t always this friendly.
According to recordings and social media posts obtained by CNN’s K-File, Ramswamy once described Musk, the Tesla billionaire who is now his co-director at the unofficial Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), as a puppet of the Chinese government.

They may not agree on much, but when it comes to Pentagon spending, Sen. Bernie Sanders and billionaire Elon Musk are aligned.
Sanders, who usually makes enemies of billionaires like Musk, posted on X Sunday, “Elon Musk is right. The Pentagon, with a budget of $886 billion, just failed its 7th audit in a row. It’s lost track of billions. Last year, only 13 senators voted against the Military Industrial Complex and a defense budget full of waste and fraud. That must change.”

Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary took one look at a certain Shark Tank pitch and hit the brakes hard. They were convinced it was a flop in the making. But Lori Greiner? She saw gold where others saw a dud. That “dud” turned into her greatest win in Shark Tank history, raking in an excellent $926M in sales.

While Cuban and O’Leary were out, Lori was all-in—and the rest is business legend. Funny how one moment of doubt can lead to one of the show’s biggest mic-drop moments!

Since announcing plans to cease posting on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this month, “The Young and the Restless” star Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) has followed up on his promise by going even further — officially deactivating his account altogether.
With his exit from X, Braeden is now posting exclusively on Instagram (including Facebook and Threads) and Bluesky, the new platform of choice for those defecting from X (formerly Twitter) following the U.S. presidential election and the Elon Musk-infused slant of the platform.
In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, Braeden shared a screenshot of the “Your account is deactivated” message he received from the platform upon completing the task.
“Not going to support this Maga Crap!!” said Braeden in response to questions from followers on why he came to his conclusion.
“Bye Felicia” commented Braeden in a similar post shared on Bluesky.

Elon Musk has taken to posting the identities of relatively unknown government officials and federal workers whose jobs he wants to eliminate, and his followers are taking it upon themselves to harass and threaten those they can find.

Dana Carvey agrees his Elon Musk impression isn’t great.
While chatting on his “Superfly” podcast with co-host David Space, the pair briefly fell on the topic of Elon Musk. Carvey busted out a quick impression – just weeks after playing the Tesla and X owner on SNL – before admitting his Musk could use some work.
“I can’t do Elon Musk very well but I can do something that sounds not like anything,” Carvey said. “He has an incredible accent.”
Carvey appeared on “SNL” a week after Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election and played a “Dark Maga” version of Musk who hopped around the stage and admitted that he ran the government now.

Jeff Bezos pushed back on Elon Musk’s claim that the Amazon founder predicted a Trump loss in the 2024 election and that shareholders should sell their Tesla and SpaceX stock.

Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show on Monday, taking stock of Donald Trump‘s bizarre series of cabinet picks.
As the comedian discussed the loopholes Trump’s administration could take to bypass the Senate confirmation and install his cabinet, Stewart pointed out the absurdity of his selections, predicting Hulk Hogan could be next.
“For example, Trump’s — let’s be generous — provocative and unorthodox cabinet picks,” said Stewart in his opening monologue. “I don’t think Hulk Hogan’s been nominated yet. I think he’s going to be the secretary of ‘Take Your Vitamins!'”
After speaking at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally last month, Hogan said he hopes to join the president-elect’s Hhs secretary pick Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

By reshaping the Supreme Court in his first term, President-elect Donald Trump effectively laid the groundwork for a second-term agenda aimed at dismantling the federal government. Now, with his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), we’re speeding toward a constitutional crisis, driven by Trump’s impulsive, tweet-like approach to governance.
Trump declared last week that Doge “will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” adding it could be the “‘Manhattan Project’ of our time.” And the...

There was a lot of love in Madison Square Garden tonight between Donald Trump and Joe Rogan.
Just over two weeks after the 45th and soon-to-be 47th Potus sat down with the ex-Fear Factor host for a three hour interview on Rogan’s blockbuster podcast, the bromance took it up a notch Saturday at UFC 309 with a long hug between the two men and some clearly very kind words.
As expected, Trump showed up at Msg tonight to add some Commander-in-chief razzle dazzle to his old pal Dana White’s latest fight night.
The two-time impeached Trump had an entourage that included new-ish buddy Elon Musk, potential Hhs Secretary Rfk Jr., director of National Intelligence nominee Tulsi Gabbard, Kid Rock, Donald Trump Jr. and a clearly uncomfortable Speaker Mike Johnson. Increasingly scandalized Trump cabinet nominees Matt Gaetz and Peter Hegseth were nowhere to be seen.

Donald Trump, along with several of his controversial cabinet picks, made a surprise appearance at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
While attending fights in the octagon is nothing new for Trump, having gone to several in the past, Saturday’s visit marked his first appearance since becoming president-elect.
Just before 10 p.m. Et, Trump walked out into the New York City arena, alongside UFC CEO Dana White, who has been a close ally to the president-elect throughout his 2024 election campaign, which ultimately saw him defeat Kamala Harris earlier this month.
Following behind were Elon Musk, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his son Donald Trump Jr. and singer Kid Rock.
Earlier this week, Trump named Kennedy as his pick to run the Department of Health and Human Services. Musk, along with Vivek Ramaswamy, was also announced to lead Trump’s newly-created Department of Government Efficiency.

Gabrielle Union is the latest Hollywood figure to leave X (formerly known as Twitter).
In a post shared on Friday, Union wrote, “There are pivotal moments in life when we must declare that enough is enough and for me, today is that day. Platforms like X were founded on authentic connections, true engagement and creative expression, all anchored in respect for user privacy and trust. Yet, with the recent and upcoming changes to the terms of service — and the return of volatile figures — I find myself at a crossroads, facing a direction I can no longer fully support. I am committed to engaging in spaces that truly value inclusivity, respect and integrity in the digital world. Sometimes, that means recognizing the last straw and knowing when to step away.”
Union went on to thank those who she “connected with” on the social media platform. “Thank you for the laughs, the insights and the endless support.

Jimmy Fallon wasn’t alone in mocking sitting President Joe Biden’s meeting with incoming President Donald Trump. But he did zero in on the distracting fire that framed the moment more than most.
“That fire was lit to represent how this meeting was hell for the both of them,” Fallon joked on Wednesday night. He then sarcastically called the location a “great idea.”
“When you have a huge open flame, you want to bring in one guy who’s all hairspray and one guy who’s all wax,” he continued. Fallon then asked to see the photo again as his studio audience giggled. “They look like the two guys in the sauna who have no problem rocking an open robe.”
Fallon also took some swings at Trump’s announced picks for his cabinet, zeroing in on “Fox & Friends” host Pete Hegseth, who has been tapped to be Secretary of Defense.

Updated, with Gaetz resigning his congressional seat: Donald Trump has nominated Rep.. Matt Gaetz (R-fl) to serve as attorney general, a surprise pick that will please the president-elect’s Maga allies but may prove to be a flashpoint in the confirmation process.
There already are doubts that Gaetz will have the Senate votes, even with the Republicans set to control the chamber.
The selection of Gaetz, a key ally and partisan flamethrower, also is raising alarm among Democrats over the independence of the Justice Department, as Trump has vowed to enact retribution on political enemies.
More than anything, Gaetz has been in lockstep with Trump over his view of the DOJ.
Trump said in a statement, “Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System. Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department.
