The casting for Lilo (Maia Kealoha), Nani (Sydney Agudong), and David (Kaipo Dudoit) is spot on. Chris Sanders, who originally voiced Stitch, is the voice of Stitch.

They are going to give Jumba (Zach Galifianakis) and Pleakley (Billy Magnussen) human disguises, which we figured they would. But we see Pleakley as CGI, too, and he looks spot on!

The CGI for this film is top-notch, and Lilo is adorable!

Oh, and Cobra Bubbles (Courtney B. Vance) is in the film. There were rumors that he would be changed, but they did not do that.

Disney is currently shooting its latest live-action adaptation, Lilo & Stitch, down in Ohau, Hawaii. While the cast includes names like Zach Galifianakis, newcomer Maia Kealoha, and Courtney B. Vance, a number of the animated original’s voice actors are also on the island filming smaller roles. That’s now confirmed to include Jason Scott Lee, who played David Kawena in 2002’s Lilo & Stitch.

Rumors that Lee would be making an appearance in the live-action remake have been around for a few months, but the actor himself finally confirmed it during an appearance on the latest episode of the Kyle Meredith With… podcast. What’s more, he actually spoiled his role, so consider this your warning if you want to keep Lee’s appearance a surprise.

The Lion King remake could end up the first installment in "a big, epic saga" on par with Star Wars, according to Disney executive Sean Bailey.

Bailey, who is president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, talked up the 2019 film's franchise-spawning potential in an interview with The New York Times. "There's a lot of room to run [with the Lion King series] if we can find the stories," he said. Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King used photorealistic CGI to retell the traditionally animated 1994 classic of the same name. A prequel movie titled Mufasa: The Lion King and helmed by Barry Jenkins is slated for release in July 2024.

Bailey is also overseeing several other projects inspired by Disney's existing library of animated features. Of these productions, the next to arrive in theaters is a live-action retelling of 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
