Netflix's upcoming series Vladimir has built out more of its growing cast. The Netflix romantic thriller is based on the hit debut novel by Julia May Jonas which was published in 2022. Jonas is adapting her book for the streamer and will also serve as an executive producer. Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall were previously announced to star in the series.

Now, Varietyhas revealed that nine new actors have been cast in Vladimir. Series regulars include John Slattery (Mad Men) as John, Jessica Henwick (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery) as Cynthia, and Ellen Robertson (Mickey 17) as Sid.

Recurring guest roles have been cast with Kayli Carter (Private Life) as Lila, Miriam Silverman (Your Friends and Neighbors) as Florence, Mallori Johnson (Is God Is) as Edwina, Matt Walsh (Veep) as David, Tattiawna Jones (Murderbot) as Alexis, and Louise Lambert (Ginny & Georgia) as Dawn.

John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson have joined the cast of Netflix’s Vladimir as series regulars. The streamer also confirmed Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Matt Walsh, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert have been cast in recurring roles.

The new additions join Rachel Weisz, who’s on board to star and executive produce, and Leo Woodall as the titular character.

The eight-episode limited series is based on Julia May Jonas’ bestselling novel, with Jonas involved as the series’ creator, writer, and executive producer. Netflix’s casting announcement did not indicate a target release date.

Netflix’s limited series adaptation of the Julia May Jonas novel “Vladimir” is rounding out its main cast.

Nine new cast members have joined the series alongside previously announced leads Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall. Variety has learned that John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson have been cast as series regulars in the roles of John, Cynthia, and Sid respectively.

The new recurring cast members are: Kayli Carter as Lila, Miriam Silverman as Florence, Mallori Johnson as Edwina, Matt Walsh as David, Tattiawna Jones as Alexis, and Louise Lambert as Dawn.

In addition, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning team of Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini are set to direct three of the show’s eight episodes, including the pilot. They will also be executive producers on the series. Berman and Pulcini are repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and Paul Brennan at 3B Law.

Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson have signed with WME for representation in all areas, Variety has learned exclusively. The pair continue to be represented by United Agents in the UK and Linden Entertainment.

Clive and Robertson broke out with their performances as the “Britney” sketch comedy duo. They previously adapted “Britney” into a BBC Three pilot in 2023. “Britney” originated as a comedy stage show that Clive co-wrote about her experience of being diagnosed with a brain tumor at 23 years old.

Their most recent live show, “Friends and Nothing More,” had a sold-out run at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival before transferring to London’s Soho Theatre. Currently, they are writing a half-hour comedy that they are developing with Gloria Sanchez and Two Brothers. Both Clive and Robertson would also star in and executive produce that project.

Charly Clive will star opposite Steve Carell in his upcoming HBO comedy series from Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses.

The show was originally picked up back in May. Along with Carell and Clive, “Ted Lasso” alum Phil Dunster is also attached to star.

Exclusive: British actress Charly Clive (Pure) has landed the female lead opposite Steve Carell in HBO‘s untitled comedy series from Bill Lawrence, Matt Tarses and Warner Bros. TV. Clive was among a half-dozen 30-something actresses — including a couple of well-known names — who did a chemistry read with Carell for the hotly pursued role.

The single-camera comedy is set on a college campus, centering on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Clive). In addition to Carell, Clive joins previously cast Phil Dunster in the high-profile series.

The first of 10 half-hour episodes was written by Lawrence and Tarses. Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer Productions executive produce alongside Tarses and Carell. The series is produced by Doozer in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence’s Doozer banner and Tarses are under overall deals.

Hubbard moves to Linden after four years at Echo Lake Entertainment and previous to that he was in the Motion Picture Talent Department at UTA. He is currently executive producing Adam Rehmeier’s feature film Carolina Caroline starring Samara Weaving; executive producing Alok Vaid-Menon’s comedy special Biology!, who Hubbard represents and just secured a first look deal in Sony TV for them and executive producing Meredith Alloway’s directorial debut Forbidden Fruits with Mason Novick and Diablo Cody which is written by Alloway and Lily Houghton, both of whom Hubbard will continue to represent at Linden. BBC Three Comedy Pilots Includes Latest Female-Led Project From ‘Fleabag’ Producer Two Brothers Pics

BBC Three has revealed a slate of four Comedy Slices pilots, which include Dinosaur, the latest female-led project from Fleabag producer Two Brothers Pictures.

The 22-minute comedy is written by Elizabeth McGovern and Simon Curtis’ daughter, Matilda Curtis, and centers on Ashley Storrie-portrayed Nina, an autistic woman who has never sought any kind of diagnosis.

Nina’s always felt a little different from other people but she finds happiness in the world thanks to her passion for paleontology and her friendship with her bubbly younger sister Evie. However, when Evie asks Nina to be her maid of honor, Nina decides to step out of her comfort zone with a challenge: to find herself a date to bring to the wedding.

Dinosaur is executive produced by Harry Williams and Jack Williams, who will be hoping to repeat the Emmy-winning success of Fleabag. The show is one of three other female-led comedies unveiled by the BBC.
