Shonen anime focus mainly on male characters and their progression from youth to adulthood. However, an increasing number of shonen anime over the last decade have featured female characters more prominently. Many of these female characters are well-written - even better than their male counterparts. Several of these girls and women stand out above the rest.
The best female shonen characters have great character progression throughout their series. They are as complex as any male character, and they arent worn-out stereotypes that too many female anime characters are known for. These female characters have dreams and flaws just like everyone else, which is what makes them such great characters.

The Solo Leveling animes sidelined characters are finally getting their moment in the spotlight thanks to a new guide from the creators of Solo Leveling: Arise, which details the best Hunters for the franchise's first game.
While Solo Leveling: Arise players are tasked with a variety of different opponents, official developer Netmarble has provided an official guide to Cbr to help players achieve general success. Perhaps surprisingly, given her lack of major screen time in the anime series, Hunter Lee Joo-hee is a top pick due to her Aoe (Area of Effect) healing skills. Her technique, Healing Wave, recovers Hp and mana while attacking, with its key effect being that "Joohee recovers her allies Hp in Divination Circle equal to the N% of her max Hp." Fellow Hunters Kim Chul and Anna Ruiz are also spotlighted for their own reasons below.

Bad English spoken by supposedly native English-speaking characters in anime is not a new issue and has been present in the industry for decades. Limited budgets, tight deadlines, and competition in the voice acting industry contribute to the challenges of accurately portraying English-speaking characters in anime. Bad English isn't always bad – it can lead to beloved character and hilarious moments.
Most viewers who watch anime in Japanese are likely to have heard bad English spoken by a supposedly native English-speaking character. For example, a British or American character who speaks with an unexplainably thick Japanese accent, or whose words feel rigid or nonsensical. These characters are presented as native English speakers but sound unnatural to English speakers. In the last few years, Do It Yourself and Blue Lock are two anime featuring native English characters whose English feels a little less than natural.
