Beth Hornby is a Canadian screen actor presently based in Toronto, Ontario, with roots in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She made her acting debut in 2018 after a notable career in journalism and sports communications. Since transitioning to the screen, Beth has appeared in a wide range of productions including Star Trek, The Handmaid's Tale, Dark Side of the Ring, Five Days at Memorial, and The Jane Mysteries.
Beth earned a full NCAA scholarship to the University of Minnesota, where she competed on the women's rowing team. At the height of her athletic career, she was named Rowing Canada's Female Sculler of the Year and selected for the All-Big Ten First Team.
Her professional journey in media began as a writer and editor covering amateur sports for NBC and CBC. As the website editor for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Beth created and hosted the official video and audio podcasts of the Games, interviewing athletes, delegates, and other remarkable individuals. This on-camera experience inspired her to return to university to study broadcast journalism and deepen her work in video storytelling.
Today, Beth continues to support various film festivals and sports organizations, advocating for women's unique perspectives to be heard and celebrated.
