Craft services will need more bananas on the rider when production for Season 2 of Vince Vaughn’s dark comedy series Bad Monkey begins because John Malkovich is joining the cast. Malkovich joins Bad Monkey as Spencer, the head of a prominent South Florida criminal organization, and a series regular.

The first season of Bad Monkey is based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel, while the second is an original story.

The Fashion Trust U.S. Awards, which are in its third year, are put on by the non-profit Fashion Trust U.S., which is dedicated to supporting emerging designers. Winners of the awards receive cash prizes up to $200,000, as well as access to mentorship from industry leaders.

Shrinking Season 2 returns viewers to the world of the beloved Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center and the life of one Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel) and his colleagues Paul Rhoades (Harrison Ford) and Gaby Evans (Jessica Williams). All three characters employ music both in their practices and in their personal daily lives. Jimmy’s daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell) also has a very specific taste in music.

Season 1 of Shrinking kicked off with Billy Joel’s “Prelude/Angry Young Man” and Arcade Fire’s “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid).” Later on in the season, Nine Days’ “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)”, Phoebe Bridger’s “Funeral” and The 1975’s “Me” also had had moments in the spotlight.

There is a sequel novel to “Bad Monkey” titled “Razor Girl,” but according to an individual with knowledge of the production, Season 2 will not be based on that book. Bill Lawrence developed “Bad Monkey” for television with Vince Vaughn starring in the lead role.

Apple TV+ has given a Season 2 renewal to breakout comedy Bad Monkey, from developer, executive producer and showrunner Bill Lawrence, star/executive producer Vince Vaughn and Warner Bros. Television where Lawrence is based.

The pickup comes more than a month after the Season 1 finale of Bad Monkey was released. I hear the delay was largely due to logistics related to relocation. In a rare good news for California production amid the recent exodus, Bad Monkey will be moving from Miami and the Florida Keys to the Los Angeles area in Season 2, sources tell Deadline. I hear the move was important to LA-based Vaughn, and the crew also faced a lot of weather-related challenges while filming Season 1. To do it, the series was awarded a $20M tax credit from California.

It was a star-studded outing at Tory Burch‘s fashion show held during New York Fashion Week.

Elizabeth Olsen, Mindy Kaling, and Joey King were among the celebs sitting in the front row at the event on Monday night (September 9) at Skylight at the Refinery in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Some of the other celebs in attendance included Michelle Williams, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lola Tung, Maude Apatow, Kiki Layne, and VP Kamala Harris‘ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff, among others.

“The synchronicity of movement and form. This collection began with the essence of sport: power and grace, precision and freedom,” fashion designer Tory Burch said in a statement about the collection.

Joey and Michelle previously worked together on the movie Oz The Great and Powerful and Joey recently worked with Michelle‘s husband Thomas Kail on the Hulu series We Were the Lucky Ones. The couple attended Joey‘s Mallorca wedding one year ago!

While Los Angeles suffers from a late summer heat wave, New York is also turning up the temperature thanks to the current star-packed parade happening at fashion shows across the city.

New York Fashion Week — happening now through Sept. 11 — is hosting shows from some of the industry’s top designers, and actors, artists, influencers, sports stars and even a First Lady (Dr. Jill Biden) have been on the scene to catch the debut of designs from the front row.

Dakota Johnson, Naomi Campbell, and Olivia Culpo stepped out for the launch party for the new Bvlgari Tubogas jewelry collection on Wednesday night (September 4) held at the Skylight at The Refinery in New York City.

I'm loving Apple TV+'s Bad Monkey, but I'm a little annoyed at myself for not seeing the third episode's big twist coming from a mile away. The end of Bad Monkey season 1, episode 3, "Nobody Said He Was Alvin Einstein," took me off-guard, as I'm assuming was the intention. However, in retrospect, all the signs were there for me to work it out for myself ahead of time, and yet I didn't. Regardless, it's a brilliant reveal.

Vince Vaughn heads to Florida as former police officer Andrew Yancy to solve a mysterious murder in Apple TV+'s new comedy, Bad Monkey. As a severed arm is caught by tourists, Yancy has to deal with the bizarre locals in order to find the truth, including the psychopathic Eve Stripling (Meredith Hagner) and recovering drug addict Caitlin Stripling-Cox (Charlotte Lawrence). They are also accompanied by a stellar cast of Michelle Monaghan (The Family Plan), L. Scott Caldwell (The Fugitive), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Alex Moffat (Saturday Night Live), Natalie Martinez (La Promesa del Returno), Ronald Peet (First Reformed), and Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang).

Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance during producer Andrew Watt and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith’s intimate show in the Hamptons on Tuesday night (August 20th).

While joining Watt and Smith on stage at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, McCartney exuberantly performed the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” and Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” Watch the fan-shot footage below.

During the show, Watt and Smith were accompanied by former Hall & Oates guitarist and Saturday Night Live bandleader G. E. Smith. Watt’s girlfriend Charlotte Lawrence was also on hand to duet with McCartney during “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Watt and McCartney have worked together before. Macca recently appeared on “Bite My Head Off” from the Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, which Watt produced.

This fall, McCartney will head out on the road for a tour across South America and the UK/Europe.

“Without being a dork, he was so influential for me as a storyteller. I started reading his books when I was a teenager,” Bill Lawrence, the developer and executive producer behind the Apple TV+ original, told TheWrap.

Lawrence has a long history with Florida, the setting behind Hiaasen’s quip-filled and twisted literary thrillers. His parents currently live there, and his aunts and uncles are all fishing guides along the St. Johns River. In the first episode alone, we’re introduced to a severed arm in a cooler, an acrimonious real-estate feud, a boho-chic chick with a questionable past, a heaping dose of witchcraft, and gorgeous views as far as the eye can see. Based on the cult classic novel Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen, the show splits its time between Miami, Key West, and the island of Andros in the Bahamas. The relaxed beach atmosphere, combined with an audaciously quirky cast of characters and ongoing cat-and-mouse detective game, makes for an irresistible end-of-summer escape.

Vince Vaughn first met Bill Lawrence more than 25 years ago, so when cop comedy “Bad Monkey” came around, the actor jumped at the opportunity to finally work together.

“We just laughed a lot,” Vaughn told Variety at the Apple TV+ show’s premiere on Monday night. About collaborating with the “Spin City” and “Ted Lasso” hitmaker, Vaughn added: “He’s got such good ideas. He welcomes ideas. It was easy.”

It’s hardly a surprise things worked out so well, since Lawrence has made a bit of a habit of working with friends and family. At this stage in his career, “it’s just so fun to work with the people you want to spend time with,” he said, as his daughter, singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence, walked past him on the sand-colored carpet outside the Hammer Museum in Westwood.

Lawrence was initially apprehensive about casting her in the show, though he knew she had the chops.
