Bachna Ae Haseeno came on the other side of your career when you made gentler non-action films, how do you look back on that phase of your career?

I look back at it with so much fun. I think there was just so much freedom, I was so carefree. I was working with friends, became friends with a lot of people, particularly there’s Bipasha, Deepika, Ranbir, who was already a friend.

So a lot of fun?

I think we had too much fun. It was a light film, it was a genre that I was really enjoying at that point in time. And every day was like, just going to have fun. It was like a party.

Katrina Kaif has now spoken about being dropped from Sidharth Anand’s Bachna Ae Haseeno. Back in 2008, when the film was released the director had spoken to this writer about this unfortunately but unavoidable elimination.

Siddharth had explained, “If we had kept Katrina’s portion Bachna Ae Haseeno would’ve been one of the longest films in the history of Hindi cinema – much beyond three hours.”

The director admitted it wasn’t easy breaking the news to Katrina. “Nobody had the heart to break the news to her. When she heard she was out, Katrina was really upset. What to do? In fact, Katrina’s track was one of our favourites, but she saw our point of view when she saw the film.”

Ranbir Kapoor played the main lead in this romantic comedy and was seen courting Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, and Deepika Padukone.

Beautiful faces, smiling faces, saddened faces, perturbed faces… The Kashmir that we see in debutant director Shoojit Sircar’s Yahaan is a valley of mystery and joy. Cinematographer Jakob Ishre has used blue-tinged lenses to highlight the mood of doom and beauty.

How do you look back on Shaurya?

I think Shaurya for me has been a life- defining film , it’s amazing that even after 17 years the film has a life of its own, and is interpreted in many ways by people who watch the film . I had a ball doing Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. My kids (Farhan and Zoya Akhtar) are involved with it. I’ve a very small part.

You had never been paired with Boman Irani before?

Boman plays this Christian Goanese guy. I play this Muslim woman. He plays a brash man. My character is more genteel. I love my look in this film. I kept telling the clothes designer Arjun Bhasin that after this film, he won’t be getting any more assignments. All of us are so atrociously dressed by design.

Mumbai, June 5 (Ians) The trailer of their upcoming series “Badtameez Dil”, which was unveiled on Monday, presents the journey of a girl who believes in old-school romance and a guy who is an ardent believer of modern-day love.

The trailer, which is 1 minute and 35 seconds in length, follows the opposing ideologies of its leads essayed by Ridhi Dogra and Barun Sobti. While Ridhi’s character sticks to conventional methods of love, Barun’s character has some twisted ideas about love as his characters says in the trailer, “Shaadi usse karo jisse dosti ho aur sex usse karo jo hot ho”.

About “Badtameez Dil”, Ridhi said: “Classic romance is such a feel-good emotion to capture on the screen and ‘Badtameez Dil’ has done that job perfectly! Mumbai, July 12 (Ians) Singers Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal's 2005 song "Naam ada likhna" from the 2005 film, "Yahaan", has been given a refreshing touch by new-age singers Madhubanti Bagchi and Shreyas Puranik.

The original song was composed by Shantanu Moitra for the Shoojit Sircar film, starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Minissha Lamba while the music for the new rendition has been re-produced by Harshit Chauhan.

The music video features couple Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood, who shot in the picturesque locations of Ladakh.

"This is our first music video together. There's no other way to say it, the song is beautiful, the lyrics are perfect and my co-star is amazing! Everything just fit perfectly. We couldn't have asked for anything better," said Varun.

Divya added: "The music was so good that it was an instant yes after we heard the track. Shooting in Ladakh was so much fun with Varun around."

Actress Smita Bansal, who marks her debut as a scriptwriter in theatre with "Hello Zindagi", is confident it will leave the audience with a smile.

New Delhi, Sep 19: Bollywood actresses Minissha Lamba and Sonal Chauhan will walk the ramp on day one of North East Design Fest here Thursday evening to support talented people from the region.

Actress and singer Priyanka Chopra’s father Dr Ashok Chopra sadly passed away today. The retired Army colonel and physician was suffering from cancer, and was undergoing treatment when he passed away at 12.30pm (Ist). He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai, around 17 days ago and was undergoing treatment for the cancer for the last few years, when his condition deteriorated and passed away suddenly.

Wasseypur’s gangs never had it so good. Seeing the glorious guttural outflow of gore blood bullets and profanities in Zilla Ghaziabad one could safely(?) assume, Wasseypur is safe. So is the other release this week. Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che is as far removed from its Friday competition as flying kites are from speeding bullets.

To be fair one can’t compare two films as disparate in intent, purpose tone and treatment as Kai Po Che and Zilla Ghaziabad…except for the fact that somewhere down the line as we approach the crux and the core, both films say the same thing.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been making waves in the film industry ever since his stellar performance in Kahaani and Gangs Of Wasseypur. The maverick actor who has been recently on a film signing spree will now be seen sporting a new look for his role in Sanjay Sharma's Black Currency. The film which seeks to expose the business of counterfeit notes features Nawaz playing a shrewd, manipulative tycoon.

However, unlike the conventional filmi tycoons that are portrayed as the suave, slick and stylish jetsetters, Nawaz will be seen as a petite yet sharp individual. The film which is scripted by Sharma draws inspiration from his own life when he was handed back a fake Rs. 500 note that was being deposited in a bank. Taking a cue from the incident and also integrating other cases of fake notes, Sharma had woven a script that has been three years in the making.

Awards season is in full swing and the Colour Screen Awards took place last week in B’town.

Soundarya Productions brings to you the trailer of Zila Ghaziabad. Presented by Bharat Shah the movie is produced by Vinod Bachchan and Showman International and directed by Anand Kumar. The film has a long list stars – Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Vivek Oberoi, Paresh Rawal, Chandrachur Singh, Minissha Lamba, Geeta Basra, Charmy Kaur, Rajpal Yadav, Shriya Saran and Geeta Basra among others.

The story is based on real life incidents in Ghaziabad of a war between Satbir Gurjar played by Vivek Oberoi and Mahender Fauji Baisla played by Arshad Warsi in the 1990s. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the rogue police officer Pritam Singh.

Zila Ghaziabad will release on 22nd February this year.

Mumbai, Oct 23: Minissha Lamba had a busy time for her shooting schedule. And once the shoot got wrapped up, she headed for vacationing to North India. She loved the trip to North a lot. She was in Ladakh, and went for meditating every day in a week, that was a quite new experience, since Minissha is a hyper-active girl. She felt like getting purified there.

New Delhi, Oct 17: Actress Minissha Lamba has been in the film industry for almost seven years but likes to play safe when it comes to choosing a script.

The 27-year-old has done some out of the box movies like "Yahaan", "Dus Kahaniyaan" and "Joker".

New Delhi, Oct 16: Actress Minissha Lamba, who is the brand ambassador of Japanese company Fujifilms, launched the latest XF1 camera range Tuesday here and said that she feels close to the brand for personal reason.

"The first time my parents went abroad, they bought a Fuji camera. It was a big deal in those days and to get something like this was a huge thing. It is a great opportunity to be associated with the same brand. Life comes full circle and it is good to have the feeling of closeness with the brand," Minissha told Ians.
