She further honed her craft by studying text composition with José Sanchís Sinisterra. Garrote graduated from the Escuela Municipal de Arte Dramático as an actress and playwright. Her professional journey began in 1994 when she met Rafael Spregelburd during theater classes with Ricardo Bartis. Together, they co-founded the theater group El Patrón Vázquez. Garrote continued to collaborate with Spregelburd, co-creating and starring in works such as Remanente de invierno (1995), Reconstrucción del hecho (1997), and La extravagancia (1997-1999).
