Rob Weston
Mentored by former 20th Century Fox, Managing Director, Tim Hampton (Aliens), multi award winning filmmaker, Rob Weston developed his first movie property in 2004. Entitled 'Where Love Reigns', the project attached a wealth of talent including, Martin Scorsese (The Wolf Of Wall Street), multiple Oscar winner Jack Cardiff (African Queen), Golden Globe nominee Michael Nyman (The Piano) and a cast which included Golden Globe winner Alan Rickman (Die Hard), Oscar nominee Armin Mueller Stahl (Shine) and Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis).

Weston has since gone onto produce multiple independent movies with budgets combined in excess of $100m USD.

Starting out in the horror genre, Weston through his production shingle, Straightwire Entertainment Group, quickly became known as the 'goto horror producer in the UK', having produced festival favorite Gnaw (2008), then the sequel to hit horror movie Zombie Diaries (2011), partnering with The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films, which Fangoria hailed as 'the best horror movie of the year'. Simultaneously, Weston, made thriller Don't Let Him In (2011), which released by Image Entertainment went onto become one of their top performing titles of the year. Then came The Thompsons (2012), the sequel to hit horror movie The Hamiltons for Lionsgate, which played festivals around the world including premiering at FrightFest. Total Film called it 'Twilight meets Tarantino'. Weston then made the multi award winning Spanish Language horror, Die Again (Aka Wake Up And Die) (2012).

In 2013, Straightwire Entertainment Group set up offices in Los Angeles, where Weston would partner with Rio Negro (Gloria) to remake Latin American classic Elsa And Fred, working alongside Oscar winning producer Ed Saxon (Silence Of The Lambs) and Oscar nominated director Michael Radford (Il Postino). The cast for the film included Oscar winners Christopher Plummer (Beginners), Shirley Maclaine (Terms Of Endearment) and Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River). Millennium Entertainment released the film after an award winning festival run. Weston simultaneously made the Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil) thriller The List for Palm D'or nominated, director Klaus Huttman and science fiction extravaganza The Last Scout for Epic Pictures.

Weston then went on to adapt the award-winning novel, Dark Places (2015), from best selling author Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl). The movie stars Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) alongside Chloe Moretz (Carrie), Nicholas Hoult (Jack The Giant Slayer) and Emmy award nominee Christina Hendricks (Mad Men). The movie was named on Indiewire's list of the '100 Most Anticipated Films of 2015' and went onto break records for DirectTV upon it's release, becoming the number 1 pay TV title at the time, before A24's theatrical run. Weston then ventured back to horror to make the Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is The New Black) starrer Antibirth. The acclaimed movie would premier at Sundance in 2016 and would also star Chloe Sevigny (American Horror Story) and Academy Award nominee Meg Tilly (Agnes Of God).

Weston then went onto make the multi award winning action thriller Redcon 1 for director Chee Keong Cheung (Bodyguard: A New Beginning) alongside Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Carlos Gallardo (El Mariachi).

In 2019 Weston produced the highly publicized Jason Mewes (Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back) directorial debut, Madness In The Method, starring Mewes, Kevin Smith (Clerks), Gina Carano (Deadpool) and Danny Trejo (Machete). The film is notable for being Stan Lee's last ever movie.

In 2021 Weston produced TIFF favorite, Raul Sanchez's drama, Crimson Point starring C Thomas Howell (Outsiders).

Most recently he wrote and produced the Niall Johnson (Keeping Mum) adventure fantasy, Legend Has It, starring Rupert Everett (Napoleon), Tamsin Greig (Black Books) and Emilia Fox (Silent Witness).
