John Wick star, and somehow still the most underrated action icon fighting the good fight, Scott Adkins, has teased the intense action to come in his latest action thriller. As well as revealing our first look at the movie, which finds Adkins once again in a deadly situation that only his particular skills can get him out of, the actor and martial artist has also now confirmed the release date of the new action outing, which will drop his high kicks and powerful punches in World War II.

New details have now emerged about the project, with the war action thriller changing its title from Death March to Prisoner of War. Operation Blood Hunt is the film we wanted after Dog Soldiers showed us all that werewolves and soldiers could be a great combination. Leading indie distributor Well Go USA has picked up North American rights to “Death March,” an upcoming WWII action film starring and conceived by action star Scott Adkins.

In Adkins’ story, scripted by Marc Clebanoff, a British airman washes ashore after being ejected from his plane and becomes a prisoner in a Japanese-run Pow camp. While waiting to join the infamous Bataan death march, the airman is tortured by the camp commander and is forced to fight for his life against an array of skilled Japanese warriors. Adkins portrays the airman. Veteran actor Peter Shinkoda plays the camp commander.

Under the direction of Louis Mandylor, the film has recently wrapped production in the Subic Bay and Bataan region of the Philippines. Release plans have not yet been finalized.

Exclusive: Brendan Moriarty (Road to Freedom) is gearing up to direct In the Night, a human trafficking thriller starring Gary Cairns, Jay Giannone, Vincent De Paul, Clayton T. Smith and Aizhan Lighg, which is inspired by real accounts from CIA agents.

The film will dive into the dubious life of CIA agent Ian Boyd (Gary), who is tasked with taking down the leader of the largest human trafficking organization in China, in his last black-ops mission before retiring.

Cairns and Smith penned the screenplay, based on a story by J. Loren. Moriarty’s Franklin Square Pictures banner will finance and produce, with Moriarty producing alongside Cairns and Willie Barela, Henry Bronson and Doug Deluca exec producing, and Stephen L. UK-based genre specialist Jinga Films has added five titles to its slate ahead of next week’s virtual Cannes week (June 22-26).

They include Erik Bloomquist’s black comedy horror Ten Minutes To Midnight, a Us title about a punk rock DJ who is bitten by a vampire bat on the night of her final broadcast. Caroline Williams leads the cast alongside Nicole Kang, Nicholas Tucci, and Alice Kremelberg.

Bloomquist wrote the film with his brother Carson, with the pair producing with Adam Weppler for Mainframe Pictures.

Exclusive: Anchor Bay Canada has acquired Canadian home entertainment and North American digital rights to Blanc/Biehn Productions’ The Night Visitor and its sequel.

The films follow an unseen entity that enters the minds of its victims. The first instalment of the horror series, directed by Jennifer Blanc, will open this autumn.

Blanc also stars alongside Michael Biehn, Gary Cairns, Tara Buck and Vedette Lim.

The sequel, The Night Visitor: Heather’s Story, is directed by Brianne Davis and is scheduled to arrive in winter 2016.

Allex (Gary Cairns) has a drinking problem.  He goes to the bar and has a few then goes home to have a few more.  Whiskey, mostly.  Since the whiskey is probably more expensive at the bar, why not just save the money and get blackout drunk at home?  I guess that's not the point.  Anyway, Allex's problem has gone beyond forgetting how to spell his own name. He's gotten to the point where he won't even stop drinking even when a mad scientist (Brad Dourif) makes it so he's murdering strangers, friends, and co-workers during his blackouts.  That's pretty bad.  But, you know, his wife's died a couple months ago and she was very pretty and now he's got this enormous house in La to maintain all by himself.  Of course he turned to drink.

This title is expected to release in 2014 and the film stars Luke Albright (The Dyatlov Pass Incident). As well, The Devil's Double actor Mem Ferda will act as associate producer, on the film. Monumental follows two lifelong friends, Steve (Gary Cairns) and Clayne (Albright). Together, they travel the United States, while spreading the ashes of Steve's recently deceased mother. Actress/producer/director Jennifer Blanc-Biehn has signed a multi-picture deal with executive producer Lony Ruhmann that includes two sequels to her directorial debut, The Night Visitor, and another spooky sounding project titled Calls from Dead People with an eye toward developing all three films in 2014.

The Night Visitor is a found footage style mix of sci-fi and horror, and currently its follow-ups are known as The Night Visitor 2: Heather's Story and The Night Visitor 3.

“Lony was so moved collaborating with us on his story The Night Visitor,” says Blanc-Biehn, “he came up with more stories and is funding this deal into next year. We couldn’t be more pleased. Michael [Biehn] loved what the team was doing with The Night Visitor so much he added this to the Blanc/Biehn roster, which sparked Lony to offer the multi-picture deal and future collaborations.”

Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Among Friends, The Divide) is making her directorial debut with the sci-fi/horror film The Night Visitor which is currently shooting.
