The best laid plans for Donald Trump’s inauguration — the pomp and circumstance of the outdoor Capitol swearing-in ceremony followed by a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue — have been stymied by Mother Nature.

With the forecast of Arctic blast moving into Washington on Monday, bringing wind chills in the teens or even lower, Trump said earlier Friday that some of the biggest events will be moved inside.

When Trump and Jd Vance take the Oath of Office, that will be in the Capitol Rotunda, witnessed by a far smaller crowd, perhaps only about 1,000. The parade will be moved to Capital One Arena, about two miles away, and Trump has promised that he will join his supporters there after the Capitol Hill ceremonies.

That said, other indoor events on inauguration weekend will go as planned, with a bevy of parties, balls and cocktail receptions planned for Trump’s ardent supporters and allies,...

Move over, Rockefeller Center — there’s a new Christmas tree taking over the town.

This week, Fox News Media will host its own Christmas tree lightning ceremony for the fifth straight year, one that includes prominent Fox News personalities and a performance from singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw.

The Christmas tree at Fox Square includes 18,000 ornaments and 340,000 true white, warm white and red lights. The “All-American Christmas Tree” stands 50 feet tall and includes a six-foot topper with 4,800 embedded lights. The tree was produced by lightning and display company American Christmas, based in Mout Vernon, New York.

Donald Trump’s acceptance speech will be the highlight of the final night of the Republican National Convention, but the other speaker lineup will have the feel of a cage match.

Hulk Hogan has been added to the lineup. The entertainer and wrestler sued Gawker for invasion of privacy over the publication of an excerpt of a sex tape. In a meeting with religious leaders that was ostensibly about gun control, Joe Biden agreed with Reverend Franklin Graham (son of Billy Graham and leading beacon of morality and decency) that sure, there’s no legal reason that violent video games couldn’t have a slightly higher rate of tax on them, which would of course go to victims of gun crime (unlike, say, a tax on guns).

The questionable logic of making already violent people pay more for their violent video games, or restricting access to them altogether while allowing them to keep their cache of guns aside, presents a major of issue with the Reverend’s suggestion. Rev. Franklin Graham on Wednesday suggested that movies and video games depicting violence should be subject to extra taxation.

“How much violence as a nation are we willing to accept?” Graham asked Wednesday, according to the Rock Hill Herald. “We tax cigarettes, we can tax violence.”

Graham's comments came during a break from a disaster relief training session for his group Samaritan's Purse. He also suggested that more gun laws would not solve problems of violence inflicted by those weapons, instead claiming that current measures needed to be better enforced.

Last month, however, Graham did come out in favor of universal background checks for gun purchases. A measure to expand background checks later failed in the Senate.
