The idea for Grizzly (1976)was from a camping trip Flaxman had taken with his family. With that small story he and friend David Sheldon wrote the script for Grizzly with Christopher George, Andrew Prine and Richard Jaeckel in lead roles. The movie was directed by William Girdler. It was the highest-grossing film of 1976.
