It Follows – August 12

It Follows will be released on SteelBook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on August 12 exclusively from Lionsgate Limited.

The 2014 horror film is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, who’s currently working on a sequel titled They Follow.

It has been mastered in 4K by Second Sight Films and is presented with Dolby Vision Hdr.

The 1990s were a fantastic time for Nicolas Cage and a decade that featured some of his greatest film roles. 1951: Hawkins Falls, a primetime dramedy in 1950 returned as 15-minute five-days-a-week daytime soap opera on NBC titled Hawkins Falls: A Television Novel, created by Roy Winsor and Doug Johnson. Its large cast of "townspeople" included Frank Dane, Bernadine Flynn, Ros Twohey, Hope Summers and Barbara Berjer. Produced and directed by Ben Park, it ran four years.

Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers is actually the first movie in the Sleepaway Camp franchise that I’d ever seen. The VHS cover art lured me in as a kid by teasing possible appearances from iconic villains, with Freddy’s glove and Jason’s hockey mask poking out of a woman’s backpack. I was a bit too young to understand the concept of trademarks at that age, so you can imagine my disappointment when neither character made so much as a cameo. Since I hadn’t seen the first film and didn’t have any context for the franchise as a whole (or that twist), I just thought of the movie as low-budget trash.

With Christmas songs on the airwaves, presents being placed under trees, and holiday gatherings taking place, summer camp might be the furthest thing from your mind, but the folks at Scream Factory will have you reminiscing about crackling bonfires and blood-splattered fun in the sun, as they have revealed that they will release the first two Sleepaway Camp sequels on Collector’s Edition Blu-rays next year.

Due to the requests that came in when they released Sleepaway Camp on a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray in late May, Scream Factory has revealed that sometime next summer they will release Collector’s Edition Blu-rays of Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers and Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland, both of which were directed by Michael A. Simpson, written by Fritz Gordon, and starred Pamela Springsteen as Angela Baker.

There’s no word yet on what special features will be included on the releases, but...

It's not that hard to believe that it's been 25 years since the release of "Heathers," on March 31, 1989.

Really, the movie seems like an artifact from a different era, one paradoxically bolder than our own. It's hard to imagine a movie getting made today that makes fun of teen suicide, schoolhouse violence, and the public grieving process that follows both. "Heathers"'s gleefully gruesome satire made stars out of Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannen Doherty, launched the careers of screenwriter Daniel Waters and director Michael Lehmann, and created the mold for subversive schoolgirl comedies to come, from "Clueless" to "Mean Girls."

With news of a Sleepaway Camp reboot and the original movie being released on Blu-ray by Scream Factory in 2014, it looks like the Sleepaway Camp series is coming back in a big way. Next month, TheHorrorShow.TV will be offering a HD-remastered version of Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers on VOD and they’ve given us an exclusive look at the new artwork created by Christopher Lovell.

Finally, we have an Anger Management story for you that isn’t intensely negative. The FX comedy is missing its female lead right now, and there are only 3 episodes left in season 2. But Charlie Sheen’s on screen arch nemesis is acted by Brian Austin Green, who we have learned is now upgraded to series regular status.

Green is the object of Charlie’s loathing because he is Charlie’s ex-wife’s current boyfriend and beating him to a bloody pulp has also gotten Charlie into hot water. The character was introduced in the series’ first episode last year, reminded Deadline and recently came on back to the set for two more episodes this season, which were part of Anger Management‘s 90-episode back order.

The show really has had some wild and cool guest stars, including Sheen’s real life dad, Martin Sheen, and his real life ex Denise Richards.

Synapse Films recently announced that they will be releasing a director’s cut Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of 1989′s Intruder. Directed by Scott Spiegel and featuring Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell (among others), Intruder involves a killer on the loose in a grocery store.

As a teenager back in the UK I can honestly say that Intruder was one of my favorite horror flicks. I was hooked after seeing it splattered across the cover of Gorezone (#6 I believe). It was released there on vhs with Uncut Version emblazoned across the cover art, which I believe was a mistake as it was to be released with a couple of minutes chopped off.

Anyway, December 13th will see Synapse release this beauty, which is also known as Night Crew: The Final Checkout, onto Blu-ray just in time for Christmas. And will you just look at that glorious artwork!!

Back in March 1989, we were winding down after a crazy decade of questionable fashion, amazing music, and the end of a beloved President’s term.
