The 2023 Latin American Music Awards are taking place Thursday night.

Ahead of the ceremony, the night will kick off with a preshow and red carpet special, Noche de Estrellas, at 7 p.m. Et.

Mexican actor David Zepeda and Venezuelan TV presenter Chiqui Delgado will serve as red-carpet hosts alongside Enamorándonos personalities Rafael Araneda and Ana Patricia Gámez. They will be joined by fashion and beauty experts Jomari Goyso and Yayis Villareal, who will cover all style moments and carpet looks.

Noche de Estrellas also will feature performances by Blessd, Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavarez as well as the announcement of two of the night’s winners.

The Latin AMAs will air for the first time this year on its new home, Univision, after TelevisaUnivision acquired the rights from dick clark productions in September. The show will also broadcast simultaneously on UniMás and Galavisión.

The celebration of Univision’s first-ever Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) will kick off with a dynamic pre-show and carpet, the “Noche de Estrellas,” on Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. Et/6 p.m. Ct.

The eighth edition of the annual award show will feature Mexican actor David Zepeda, popular in soap operas in his native country, and Venezuelan TV presenter Chiqui Delgado as they take over the red carpet as hosts alongside “Enamorándonos” personalities Rafael Araneda and Ana Patricia Gámez. They will also be joined by fashion and beauty experts Jomari Goyso and Yayis Villareal, who will cover all style moments and carpet looks.

The Latin AMAs take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with more than 30 performers taking to the stage. Nominations are led by Bad Bunny with 11 nods, followed by Becky G and Daddy Yankee, who each have nine nominations.

Among the Big 4 and the CW, Young Sheldon was Thursday’s most-watched program and matched ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in the adults 18-49 demographic on a night that also saw CBS’ drama rookie Clarice dip a tenth from its debut a week ago but keep its viewership.

Univision was No. 1 in the demo with Premio Lo Nuestro drawing a 0.8 rating and 2.53 million viewers. The annual Latin music featured performances by Selena Gomez and Daddy Yankee and saw Bad Buddy walk away with the most wins (seven). It aired live from Miami and was hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado, José Ron and Yuri as hosts of the three-hour show.

CBS, ABC and Fox tied for second behind Univsion in the demo. CBS won overall in viewers, with Young Sheldon steady with last week to pace the network’s comedy block which was back to originals, with B Positive also even. Mom, back for the first episode since announcing this will be its last season, and The Unicorn were both down a tenth.

That provided the lead-in to Clarice, with the 10 Pm thriller series based on Thomas Harris’ novels down a tenth in the demo from its 0.5 start but steady with last’s week’s audience of 4 million in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day fast affiliates. Like last week, it kept 100% of its Unicorn demo lead-in.

In addition to Wheel of Fortune, which rose a tenth week over week, ABC’s game-show lineup included fresh episodes of The Chase and The Hustler, both steady.

On NBC, The Mayor, which grew a tenth, and an encore of Young Rock led into a new Law & Order: Svu, which topped the 9 p.m. hour in the demo as it returned from a break. Dateline followed and jumped two tenths with the first installment of its three-part investigative miniseries The Widower.

Fox’s night included fresh helpings of Hell’s Kitchen and comedies Call Me Kat and Last Man Standing, all steady with last week. On the CW, Walker and Legacies were both even.

Et has obtained court documents showing that the 14-year-old star's older sister Shanelle applied for guardianship of Ariel, alleging that the sitcom actress was a victim of both physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her mother, Chrisoula "Crystal" Workman.

The documents claim that Ariel "has been the victim of ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name calling, personal insults about minor and minor's height, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc.) for an extended period of time by the minor's mother, Chrisoula Workman."

The papers also allege that Ariel's father, Glenn Workman, is "estranged and incapable of properly caring for a minor."
