Now entering the final stages of pre-production, The Wrap is reporting that Peter Berg’s Boston marathon drama Patriots’ Day has carried out what is surely the last casting spree before filming gets underway, this time adding Michael Beach, Alex Wolff and Themo Melikidze to its jam-packed ensemble.

According to the outlet, it is the latter two actors that will be playing the role of the radicalized terrorists (Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev) who brought the city of Boston to a standstill in April of 2013. Beach, on the other hand – best known for his recurring role of Pike in The 100 – is on board to portray Deval Patrick, the “governor of Massachusetts when terrorists struck the annual event in 2013.”

Patriots Day is scheduled for a December 21 release in the Us.

One day before her new series “The Path” debuts on Hulu, Michelle Monaghan has signed on to play Mark Wahlberg‘s wife in Peter Berg‘s Boston Marathon bombing drama “Patriots Day,” it was announced Tuesday by CBS Films and Lionsgate. The supporting cast includes Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and Golden Globe winner John Goodman, as well as Jimmy O. Yang, James Colby and “The Sopranos” actor Vincent Curatola. Wahlberg is producing the film with Scott Stuber, Hutch Parker, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson, Dorothy Aufiero and Michael Radutzky. CBS Films and Lionsgate are co-financing the movie, with the former handling production and marketing.

Michelle Monaghan has joined the cast of Peter Berg's Boston Marathon bombing drama "Patriots Day" at CBS Films. Production kicked off today.

The story chronicles the events surrounding the 2013 incident. Monaghan will play Carol Saunders, the wife of lead character Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg). John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Jimmy O. Yang, Vince Curatola and James Colby also star.

Matt Charman penned the script while Wahlberg, Hutch Parker, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson, Dorothy Aufiero and Michael Radutzky are producing the film which opens December 21st.

Broad Green Pictures has moved up the release of Bryan Cranston-led drug drama "The Infiltrator" by seven weeks to July 15th. Cranston portrays an undercover U.S. Customs agent who became a pivotal player for drug lords in the 1980s after cleaning their dirty cash.

John Singleton is poised to be the next filmmaker to make the leap to television, as FX has picked up the pilot for Snowfall, a show co-created by Singleton. The press release had this summary of the series.

Los Angeles 1981. A storm is coming and its name is cocaine. Snowfall is a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows three characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint, young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler turned gangster in search of his American dream; and Logan Miller, a prominent family’s “black sheep” desperate to escape his father’s shadow.

I’ve always enjoyed a good mob story, and by “good” I mean a story that shows how destructive these so-called crime families are and how absolutely drained they leave a person of all hope and purpose. The Mafia is not a good thing and I like to see its members learn they’ve made a mistake getting involved in such a thing. I can’t say for sure if we’re going to see any such revelations, but for sure Elementary is going to tell some kind of mob story. Whether or not it’s my idea of good will be something that will have to wait until the episode actually airs, but at least we know the series is plucking some of the best names in the mob game.

Film actor Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas, Romeo + Juliet) will guest-star on an upcoming Season 2 episode of the hit CBS series, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Sorvino will appear alongside Vincent Curatola (The Sopranos, The Good Wife) as “the heads of two warring families” in an hour that explores “the state of the Mafia in New York City in 2013,” previews executive producer Rob Doherty.

This weekend, the "Sopranos" star had a street named after him in his hometown of Park Ridge, where he spent much of his childhood.

James Gandolfini has been laid to rest. On Thursday, the late actor's family, friends and costars attended his funeral at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York City. The ceremony was led by Rev. Dr. James A.
