Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie on the Power of ‘Bombshell’
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie make for a powerful trio on-screen. With their latest film “Bombshell,” the award-winning actors recognize the potential for the film to make real social change off-screen.

“The response to the film has been incredible. I was hoping that it would be impactful in that way,” Robbie told Variety at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “I really wasn’t expecting it to hit home so closely with a lot of men, which has been amazing, really amazing.”

“Bombshell” brings to life the ripped-from-the-headlines tale of how former Fox News anchors Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson (Kidman) took on former Fox News head Roger Ailes and the toxic atmosphere he’d created at the network.

“We’ve spoken about it a lot because sexual harassment isn’t an issue for women to solve. It’s something we all have to solve together,” Robbie continued.

Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, and Margot Robbie in Scandale (2019)
‘Bombshell’ Film Review: Margot Robbie and Charlize Theron Shine in Roger Ailes Downfall Saga
Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, and Margot Robbie in Scandale (2019)
The working title for “Bombshell” was “Fair and Balanced,” and it still feels as though that would be the better option. Jay Roach’s compelling but uneven takedown of former Fox News and Fox Television Stations czar Roger Ailes is less a fiery expression of political outrage than a work of entertainment aiming to be all things to all people.

The movie is introduced as “a dramatization inspired by actual events,” a blend of freely imagined fiction and carefully recreated reality.

The first hint that there will be liberties comes when erstwhile Fox News host Megyn Kelly opens the film as our fourth-wall-breaking tour guide. Strutting through Fox headquarters in a patriotic stretch dress, she shows us the offices where the Murdoch family holds court. We visit cramped cubicles in which Sean Hannity (Spencer Garrett), Geraldo Rivera (Tony Plana) and Greta Van Susteren (Anne Ramsay) denounce “fake news.” And we glimpse the feared second floor,...

A Fantastic New Batch of Images from Ironclad Shows Off All the Cast
Warner Bros. have just sent us this new fantastic gallery of images from their new movie. Ironclad. We were lucky enough to interview James Purfoy for the movie yesterday and that should be going up on the site in the coming days.

Ironclad is out in the UK on March 4th; it is a bloody medieval action film starring Brian Cox (Bourne Supremacy), Paul Giamatti (Barney’s Version and Shoot Em Up), James Purefoy (Resident Evil), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates), Charles Dance (Gosford Park), Jason Flemyng (Kick Ass and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and Iron Man 2’s Kate Mara to name a couple.

Synopsis: Travelling back to the dark, brutal past of 13-century England, Ironclad plunges us headlong into one of the most violent, pivotal moments in English medieval history – when a few good men fought against insurmountable odds to defend their country from a megalomaniac, blood-drunk king.
