Lee Mack and Chris McCausland star in festive comedy Bad Tidings. Here’s the trailer for the upcoming Sky TV production.
Comedians Chris McCausland and Lee Mack are building up quite a portfolio of work together. They previously collaborated on an episode of the latter’s hit sitcom Not Going Out last year, in which McCausland played a passenger travelling in the same carriage as Lee’s family. They also presented at the BAFTAs together, and McCausland appears alongside Mack on game show Would I Lie To You.
They are now starring together in festive film Bad Tidings for Sky. The synopsis reads as follows:
This year’s Sky Original Christmas special revolves around grumpy home-security expert Neil (Mack) and his neighbour Scott (McCausland), who insists on keeping his Christmas lights illuminated all-year-round. And mixing up their bins, criticising Neil’s ‘project’ car and generally winding him up. Basically, Scott’s a git.

Dolorous Edd may not be a main character, but he adds humor in a bleak world full of brutality and terror. Rickon Stark was completely ignored in the show, running in a straight line to Jon Snow without any character development. Howland Reed, important for knowing Jon Snow's secret, deserved more screen time to guide the younger Starks.
Game of Thrones and its sequel, House of the Dragon, are both known for their ensemble casts. There are no true main characters in the franchise, as so many characters share screen time that it can be difficult to name a single standout character. Even in the A Song of Ice and Fire books that inspired both shows, numerous characters appear and have prominent roles.

Lockwood & Co. coming to Netflix just six weeks after the streaming service cancelled its last solid adaptation of a British fantasy YA book series in The Bastard Son & The Devil Itself, feels a bit like getting a new puppy after your last one was run over. You’re happy it’s here, obviously, but there’s a tug of wariness about getting too attached.
It’s very easy to get attached to this eight-episode ghost story about three teens running a supernatural detective agency. The cast is charming, the characters are likeable and their world – in which a nightly curfew and platoons of rapier-bearing teens protects London from spectral attack – is solidly conceived.

U.K. director Mike Leigh directs films in a wide range of moods but his working-class dramas are what made his name. All or Nothing is an emotionally punishing story of everyday life on a lower rung of a stagnant economy, where nobody has dreams and pessimism is the order of the day. The bitterness and anger are most evident in the abusive attitudes and verbal brutality from one generation to the next, even with the caring, sensitive Penny (Lesley Manville) and the inoffensive Phil (Timothy Spall). Leigh’s players craft heartbreaking characters whose individual miseries can’t be dismissed. We invest heavily in the hope of a positive outcome even as everything we see says, ‘no.’ Yet the film’s honesty doesn’t want us to give up on these people.

Now that the dust from the Battle of Winterfell has settled, where does Game of Thrones plan to go next? Well, from the looks of photos from the next episode, everyone seems to be mourning the casualties and Cersei (Lena Headey) is patiently waiting for the war to come to her with a face that says, “Bring it on.” Meanwhile, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) has a look on her face that says, “It’s already been broughten!”
Based on the photos released by HBO today, the fourth episode of the eighth and final season have many mourning the deaths from the Battle of Winterfell — mainly from the Stark siblings, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). Meanwhile, Cersei and Dany seem like they are pretty satisfied with themselves and are ready to throw down.
Last week was an all-out war as the Night King brought fury upon Winterfell.

Wow!!!…..The Long Night is an episode that will be front and centre in fans’ minds for a long time to come, but now that we’ve had time for the adrenaline flow to cease and the tears to dry, let’s take a look back at what made this episode so special.
Leading in, the stage was set for the epic showdown between the living world’s finest and the armies of the dead that the show first teased nearly a decade ago. The layout followed in the footsteps some of the show’s best outings, such as Season 2’s Blackwater and Season 4’s Watchers on the Wall, by focusing solely on one location and the world-changing events that take place there. Despite a lengthy buildup and lofty expectations, The Long Night more than lived up to its hype,...

Episode 2 of the eighth and final season was essentially a setup for tonight’s battle — and our patience was rewarded with an all-out brawl with some twists, turns and unfortunate casualties that have left our jaws on the floor. This only makes us crave more as only three episodes remain after tonight.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the “Game of Thrones” Season 8 premiere.]
Well, that was fun. “Game of Thrones,” long known for taking its viewers by surprise, returned for its final season premiere Sunday night with a shocking twist: jokes! The one-hour episode was surprisingly lighthearted, and full of witty moments, which will no doubt anger the more bloodthirsty fans who want sword-fighting and dragon-fire now.
Considering how the most recent season ended with everyone on the move, it makes sense that this episode — written by Dave Hill and directed by David Nutter — takes time to once again set up the chessboard. Plus, with so many puzzle pieces to service all coming together after seasons of teasing these meetups, it’s necessary to address the history that has passed and how they know each other. However, it makes for a static episode where scene after scene is glorified exposition peppered with wry jabs.

If you live in hope that Tormund Giantsbane and Brienne of Tarth will rekindle their “love affair” with Game of Thrones season 8, we have good news: Kristofer Hivju has been spotted in Belfast, the show’s home base, as filming on the eighth and final season gets underway.

Out today is the Blu-ray edition of Game of Thrones: The Complete Sixth Season from HBO Home Entertainment.
We previously reviewed the Digital HD version of the season here but there are new elements to consider with the box set.
The vast majority of Digital HD releases do not come with the bonus features, extra, and Easter Eggs we have come to know and love about the disc format. As a result, the Digital HD version is a nice add-on for on-the-go viewing, but the complete immersive experience, the special features add interviews, behind-the-scenes information, commentary, and deleted scenes to enhance your appreciation of the material. This season set, though, does come with some, but all, the extras found on the Blu-ray box set.
