The Israeli television drama Fauda has received an exciting update for its fifth season. Filming is set to begin next month, and a tentative release date has been revealed.

Variety shared the news that Fauda Season 5 will start filming in late April and is eyeing an early 2026 launch date. Yes Studios is handling international distribution for the series; it will launch on Yes TV in Israel before a later worldwide release on Netflix. The show is currently in pre-production, and its Season 5 story will take place in Israel as well as "overseas, where the Fauda team takes on a private mission."

In a surprise move, Yes CEO Ilan Sigal has decided to renew the hit Israeli drama Fauda for a fifth season.

According to Variety, Fauda was originally intended to end after its fourth season, but after talks held between Sigal and Netflix, which has streamed Fauda internationally, an arrangement was agreed upon to continue the drama series that addresses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Sigal and the show's co-creator, Avi Issacharoff broke the news during an annual event held by the Yes company. The fourth season of Fauda was available to stream on Netflix earlier this year, but as yet there is no confirmed date for its return to the streaming platform.

Israeli drama “Fauda” is returning for a fifth season, Variety can confirm.

Ilan Sigal, CEO of Israeli network Yes, revealed the news earlier this week, according to the Jerusalem Post. The newspaper reported that Sigal appeared alongside the show’s co-creator, Avi Issacharoff, at Yes’s annual “Bar Series” event to share the news.

Netflix streams “Fauda” internationally. The fourth season of the show, which was also meant to be the last, released earlier this year.

According to Israeli publication Ynet, “Fauda” was picked up for a fifth season following protracted negotiations between the network and the creators. No details have been confirmed in terms of the season’s plot or when it might air.

Issacharoff, an Israeli journalist, developed the hit series alongside the show’s star Lior Raz almost 10 years ago. It first premiered in 2015, telling the story of Doron (played by Raz), a commander in the Israeli army.

“False Flag” director Oded Raz is set to direct “Jerusalem 67,” an epic period thriller retelling Israel’s unlikely victory during the Six Day War in 1967. The long-gestating project is getting ready to shoot on location in Jerusalem on Aug. 16 and is being produced by New York-based Joseph Schick, a U.S. lawyer who started developing it over a decade ago.

Yael Grobglas (“Supergirl”) is in advanced negotiations to play the lead role as a civilian haunted by a painful childhood who leaves her family to serve on the frontlines of war. Itzik Cohen, whose acting credits include “Fauda” and “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem” is in advanced negotiations to join the cast.

Fauda in its fourth season in a mix of action, political thriller and the (evident) touch of social conflict. Beyond the evident confrontation (this is not a product about politics), this is a very entertaining series that has rhythm and intelligence and has known how to captivate the viewer with its complex plot, it elaborate characters and above all, its frenetic rhythm and elaborate construction in the parallel stories that have known how to reach an audience seeking big thrills.

This is a great success and excellent entertainment. The action scenes are very elaborate.

This season is just as good as the past ones: more of the same, more than one expects have made Fauda a phenomenon worth watching.

HBO has released the first official trailer for “Oslo,” a film adaptation of the Tony-winning play of the same name starring Ruth Wilson and Andrew Scott. Playwright J.T. Rogers wrote and executive-produced the movie, which is directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher. “Oslo” centers around a Norwegian couple who find themselves in the middle of negotiations for the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords, a pivotal agreement between the Government of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (Plo).

The multi-generational costume melodrama was adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name, written by author Sarit Yishai-Levi. The series was produced by Dafna Prenner and Shai Eines from Artza Productions and is represented in international markets by Yes Studios.

David Permut's shingle, Permut Presentations, owns remake rights to the character-driven comedy about a group of overweight people who become sumo wrestlers. The original film, which was directed by Sharon Maymon and Erez Tadmor and starred Itzik Cohen, played at several film festivals in 2009 and 2010.

What are overweight people to do when diet and exercise are simply not working? The answer: become sumo wrestlers. That’s the premise behind A Matter of Size, a remake of a 2009 Israeli movie directed by Sharon Maymon and Erez Tadmor. This is the sort of film that will fool you. At first glace, it presents itself as an unlikely fish-out-of-water comedy: an overweight Israeli dishwasher, fed up with dieting, convinces his Japanese boss to help him start a Sumo club. You might be forgiven if you expect this film to devolve into a trite message about ‘just being yourself,’ but you’d also thankfully be wrong. This film is cleverer than that, and to its credit, takes a far more honest approach to being overweight than most comedies dare.

Despite the fact that A Matter of Size is a comedy with a primarily overweight cast, it avoids (for the most part) the pratfalls and hijinks typical otherwise typical to large actors. There are no dinnertime fart scenes in this film. Rather, the comedy is character-driven. Aharon...
