After 48 seasons, “Inside the NFL” is getting a brand new home — and is being rebooted dramatically into a completely different kind of show.
Since its launch on HBO in 1977, “Inside the Nfls” has been an hour-long commentary, analysis and highlights show focused on America’s top professional football league. But starting Sep. 8, it will return as an extremely short form web series streaming exclusively on Elon Musk’s social media platform X.
NFL Films has committed to producing at least 10 short episodes a week through Super Bowl 2026, which takes place on Feb. 8. It will continue to be produced by NFL Films. ESPN NFL analyst and former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark will host.

Inside the NFL will return for the 2025-2026 season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned, but the long-running studio show is getting a wholesale reboot, changing formats, and moving to a new home: X, the tech platform controlled by Elon Musk.
Inside the NFL on X will debut its first episode on Sept. 8, with plans to release at least 10 short-form episodes each week leading up to next year’s Super Bowl on Feb. 8. NFL Films will continue to produce the series. Ryan Clark, the ESPN NFL analyst and former safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, will host the show, though NFL Films executives suggest that other names could join him as the season progresses.
The new version of Inside the NFL will take many of the segments from the studio show and turn into shorter-form fare, including “Mic’d Up Moments,” with exclusive first-to-air audio captured by the NFL Films team; “Big Game Edits,...

Sci-fi was a staple in my house growing up. We’re talking full “Star Trek: The Next Generation” nights — the only show I was allowed to stay up to watch until 11 p.m. But I’ve always had a soft spot for comedy too, so it makes total sense that as an adult, I gravitate toward shows that mash up the two.
There’s just something awesome about a show that contemplates what’s out beyond our world (or what could be hidden in it) and still makes you laugh. And with Apple TV+ dropping their newest show, “Murderbot,” it felt like the perfect time to round up my all-time favorite sci-fi comedies. So, here are the top seven sci-fi comedy TV shows you can stream right now.

Hugh Laurie is returning to television — not that he's really gone anywhere, but it does feel like the acclaimed House actor has been extremely selective about projects since his iconic medical procedural series took its final on-screen bow in 2012. According to new reports, the actor has hopped aboard George Kay's latest crime thriller, an AppleTV+ series called The Wanted Man. And he'll be starring in it alongside another award-winning sort: Thandiwe Newton.
In a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the series — which will consist of eight episodes in its first season — comes from the mind of creator/showrunner George Kay. The British writer is most known for Lupin, his popular Netflix series, as well as AppleTV+'s other crime thriller, Hijack. He also wrote the television miniseries The Long Shadow, which was highly acclaimed and well-received in the UK.

Former New England Patriots coach and six-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick sat down for a conversation on “CBS Sunday Morning” about his football career, his new book “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,” and his thoughts on quarterback Tom Brady. But when host Tony Dokoupil asked how he met his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, things got a little awkward.
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said off-camera at the producer’s table. In voiceover, Dokoupil explained to listeners: “It’s a topic neither of them is comfortable commenting on.”
Following the viral interview, NBC Sports reported that Hudson interrupted the interview multiple times, saying: “While we don’t know the total number of interruptions, it’s our understanding that CBS decided to include that one specific instance because it wasn’t a one-time thing.”

It's Thanksgiving week, and that usually means time off, vacations, and in the world of late-night TV, a hiatus or two. But only one show will be off this week ... and it just so happens to be one of the big ones.
Fall is always a busy time of year for television. New shows premiere and the holiday blockbuster season starts. So that means late-night TV lineups are full of big-name stars looking to promote their latest projects. Throw in everything going on post-election, and late-night TV has a lot on its pre-Thanksgiving plate.
However, don't expect to feast on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert or The Daily Show this week. The CBS show plans to air repeat episodes all week long, beginning on Monday night. The same goes for Comedy Central's late-night show
It hasn't been confirmed when Stephen Colbert will be back in the Ed Sullivan Theater with new episodes.

"I'm laughing because I'm terrified," says Ryan Clark, 'captain' of a luxury space cruise ship. You might feel the same way. This is the approach taken by Avenue 5 we're all trapped in this mess together, most (if not all) of us are either clueless or powerless, and things are getting worse, so it's best to just crack a joke. Clark is terrified, and captain is in quotations, because he's not an actual captain; he and the other 'crew' are just incompetent actors paid to look professional and put people at ease on a Carnival-style cruise line through the cosmos. But when the ship gets in actual danger, there's hardly anyone capable of saving it.

The 2024 season opener for “Monday Night Football” averaged 20.5 million viewers across ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPN+, ESPN Deportes and NFL+.
The San Francisco 49ers’ win against the New York Jets marked the program’s second-most-watched Week 1 match-up in the program’s 19 seasons on ESPN, beating the 19.8 million viewers who tuned in to watch the 2022 match-up between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.
Still, viewership for the Sept. 9 game came in lower than last year’s face-off between the Buffalo Bills and the Jets, which holds the record for the most-watched Week 1 game at 22.7 million viewers. Sheryl Lee Ralph and Lisa Ann Walter from Abbott Elementary got to call roll at the start of the Disney Upfront Tuesday, which allowed many of the stars from the studio’s movies and networks to sound off (in a video) before the presentation kicked off at the North Javits Center.
And what’s an ABC upfront without the voice of Walt Disney? Yup, he was (heard) there, too. Here’s what else happened at the afternoon shindig:
Emma Stone, whose Oscar acceptance speech for Poor Things was replayed during the opening montage, kicked off the event to remind everyone that the studio was founded more than 100 years ago. Her primary job, though? She was there to introduce Disney CEO Bob Iger. Disney CEO Bob Iger (Disney/Jennifer Pottheiser) Iger returned to the upfront stage, sans tie with his white shirt, for the first time in 30 years. He promised that...

Jason Kelce, who retired earlier this year after 13 years with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, told the crowd at Disney’s upfront how pumped he is to be joining “Monday Night Freakin’ Football!”
While he kept his shirt on, Kelce summoned the emotional intensity of his retirement announcement. When Abbot Elementary’s Quinta Brunson introduced him, Kelce hoisted her up off her feet, prompting the TV creator to joke that she felt like she’d just been on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride.
Kelce’s retirement was magnified by him becoming a player in the widely obsessed about romance between his brother, Travis, a member of the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs, and pop superstar Taylor Swift. Avenue 5 is a hilarious science-fiction comedy that stars Hugh Laurie as the out-of-his-depth Captain of an ill-fated luxury liner spacecraft. So why exactly is Laurie's character, Ryan Clark, out of his depth? Well, because he is not a captain at all. Clark is an actor hired by the billionaire owner of the Avenue 5 craft, Herman Judd (Josh Gad), to give the passengers the notion that they are in good hands. Clark has no formal training to speak of; he is entirely ignorant of any and all operations on the spaceship, much to comedic effect. He uses a British affectation to soothe the demanding passengers of his crew, and most of the comedy revolves around keeping this ruse alive. His haughty and egomaniacal underpinnings constantly bump up against his severe ineptitude, which devolves into a cantankerous contempt for those in his charge, much to the audience's amusement.

House M.D is a standout medical drama with unique cases, strong characterization, and a complex protagonist. Hugh Laurie's portrayal of Dr. House is iconic, embodying a realistic character with sarcastic genius and deep flaws. The series balances episodic storytelling with long-running character arcs, creating a compelling blend of medical mysteries and dramatic developments.
When you think of the best medical TV drama series, there are a few that may come to mind: ER, The Good Doctor, Scrubs, or even ABC's longest-running series, Grey's Anatomy. While those are all great medical dramas, the best one is arguably House. Running from 2004 to 2012, the Fox hit show followed the pill-popping, narcissistic Dr. Gregory House, played by Hugh Laurie, who is the head of the Diagnostics department at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.

The Pivot podcast host Ryan Clark has heard the discourse about what Jonathan Owens said about wife Simone Biles on an episode of his show, and he is not here for it.
In a video posted on social media, Clark recounted the conversation he had with football safety, noting that he was telling the story of how he met Biles with so much love in his eyes, and now his joke about being the catch for the gymnast is being blown out of proportion.
“Every time they looked at one another, you can tell how beautiful [their meet] was to them,” he said. “But everyone has now twisted that and taken that and made it something negative. But what people haven’t done is watch the entire show.”
He explained that Owens talked about how Biles changed his life and how as soon as they met, it was history. They were immediately connected.

“I’ve been doing this a long time where, look, I don’t want to do that forever,” Scott Van Pelt said in June of his perch at SportsCenter. “At some point you just gotta step aside and let somebody else have it.”
Well, now we know what that next step might look like for Van Pelt.
The longtime ESPN anchor will become the new host of Monday Night Countdown, the network’s popular NFL pregame show. He replaces Suzy Kolber, who had hosted the program since 2015 but was let go last month in a wave of layoffs.
Pundits are speculating that the move puts Van Pelt in line to host the Super Bowl when and if the network and corporate cousin ABC land it.
Per ESPN, Van Pelt will keep his day – er – night job.

On the show, House leads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsborough Teaching Hospital. In addition to fighting to save his patients and battling a pain medication addiction, Dr. House faces conflict with other doctors, including those on his own team. House's outside-the-box thinking causes him to take risks when treating his patients, and sometimes this includes flagrantly breaking hospital rules. But as a medical genius, he's right more often than not.
In its run from 2004-2012, House was nominated for 169 awards. With 14 wins, Laurie managed to add charm and humor to a character with no bedside manner. And while Laurie made Gregory House popular, the character also benefitted from being modeled after one of literature's greatest detectives, Sherlock Holmes. Creator David Shore is...
