    Michael Robert MacClancy, her first husband was a Squadron Leader with 226 Squadron, Royal Air Force. He was killed (with all others on board) whilst attempting a forced landing at RAF Hemswell in Lincolnshire following a bombing mission to Trongen in Germany. He was aged 22.
