The spokesman said other significant conditions with Kitaen included: mild coronary atherosclerosis; mirtazapine, mirtazapine metabolite, alprazolam, acetaminophen, pregabalin, and hydrocodone.

Earlier: Tawny Kitaen, an actress whose stunning presence in two Whitesnake videos helped propel that band’s multiplatinum albums to No. 1 in the late ’80s, died Friday in Newport Beach at age 59. No cause of death has been determined, according to numerous reports.

Whitesnake’s hits “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love?” from the album Whitesnake helped make that band the toast of the late 1980s, thanks in no small part to Kitaen’s allure. “Here I Go Again” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. Watch the clip below.

Liv Tyler describes seeing Kiss in concert as a child, learning to speak Elvish for her role as Arwen in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and having lunch with Marlon Brando in the latest installment of “The First Time.”

Tyler remembers being brought to a Kiss concert in Portland, Maine at the age of four or five, which very well could have been the Creatures of the Night/10th Anniversary Tour in 1983. Tyler’s mother, Bebe Buell, introduced her to Gene Simmons pre-Kiss makeup. “He was very nice and very sweet,...

Luke Perry
Flashback: Luke Perry Went to Zombie High in a Banned Twisted Sister Video, Pre-‘90210’ (Watch)
Luke Perry
Five years before Luke Perry joined the class of “90210,” the young actor had another school-themed role: he was a jean-jacket clad, MTV-shirt wearing extra in the video for Twisted Sister’s 1985 single “Be Chrool to Your Scuel.” The song was from 1985’s “Come Out and Play” album, the less-successful followup to the 1984 album “Stay Hungry,” featuring the breakout hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”

MTV refused to air the “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” video, objecting to scenes of zombie violence, despite playing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. However, singer Dee Snider believes the ban was due to his outspokenness against the lobbying group Parents Music Resource Center.

In the clip, an unknown Perry — who morphs into a zombie along with the other “student” extras — interacted with ‘80s star power: Alice Cooper sings and acts with Snider, while cast as the teacher was Bobcat Goldthwait,...

Dane Cook
Dane Cook talks 'Troublemaker,' Louis C.K., and all the haters
Dane Cook
The mid-2000s were some pretty damn good years for Dane Cook. In '06, the Comedy Central alum's Retaliation became the bestselling comedy album in 28 years, going platinum; Rolling Stone named him Hot Comic of the Year. Cook was the comic messiah of frat boys. Then in late '07—the same year Cook became the second comedian ever to sell out at Madison Square Garden—the tides began to turn against him, as they often do. Of course, Cook always had detractors—but at some point, the loathing reached critical mass, tipping the scales of public consensus. Dane Cook-fatigue set in.

New Release: Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway
Release Date: Oct. 4, 2011

Price: DVD $19.98, Blu-ray $24.98

Studio: Image Entertainment

Comedian Paul Reubens' alter-ego takes the stage in The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway.

For its DVD and Blu-ray edition, The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway was shot at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City in January, 2011, after the conclusion of its run on the Great White Way. The timing of the discs are a celebration, of sorts, of the 25th anniversary of Paul Reuben’s (Pee-Wee’s “alter-ego”) groundbreaking Saturday morning television show Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.

Directed by 11-time Emmy nominee Marty Callner (who also helmed the original 1981 The Pee-Wee Herman Show), The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway is based both on Reubens’ original stage show, The Pee-Wee Herman Show, and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.

The children’s show, which received nearly unanimous praise from the critics during its run, features a bunch of familiar characters (do Jambi the Genie,...

MTV’s best days are in the past
HollywoodNews.com: Stephen Pitalo, music video historian and writer of the blog The Golden Age Of Music Video, says the best days of MTV are, unfortunately, behind us.

“The early days of MTV gave the pop music world such a big tent for talent,” Pitalo said, reflecting on the 30th anniversary of MTV’s launch in August. “When acts as diverse as Twisted Sister, Michael Jackson, Wham and the Stray Cats were on the radio, it was due to their exposure on MTV. That diversity of music styles just doesn’t exist today on the pop charts.”

“The early clips were all pretty low budget,” said Pitalo, who has interviewed prominent directors Steve Barron, Julien Temple and Marty Callner, as well as lesser known directors who saw their clips experience mass exposure. “In the seventies, music labels in London were producing what they called ‘international clips,’ which they’d send...

DVD Review: ‘Will Ferrell: You’re Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush’
Chicago – When I first heard about Will Ferrell’s one-man Broadway show in which he would deliver a nearly-90-minute monologue as outgoing President George W. Bush, I was both excited at the potential and nervous as to how on Earth the talented comedian could keep it interesting for its full running time. Wouldn’t it play like an extended “Saturday Night Live” sketch? “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush” not only justifies its running time but is smart, clever, and well-written enough that I wished it was twice as long.

DVD Rating: 4.0/5.0

In his first-ever HBO special, Ferrell brings his Tony-nominated portrayal of George W. Bush to audiences who couldn’t make it to New York City earlier this year. Timed to coincide with Bush handing over the reins of the country to Barack Obama, “You’re Welcome America” is a searing, satirical look...

Emmy Nominations Reveal Few Surprises
It's a good day for funny people, especially if your name is Tina Fey or Seth MacFarlane.

Fey's series, 30 Rock, was handed 22 Emmy nominations this morning, which stands as a record for a comedy series. She and Alec Baldwin were also nominated for acting awards. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.

MacFarlane's Family Guy was also nominated for best comedy series, the first time an animated show has cracked that category since The Flintstones in 1961. Two years ago MacFarlane decided to pull his show from contention in the animated series category to have it considered for best comedy.

Mad Men, the drama about the advertising world in the sixties, picked up 16 nominations in the drama categories, including a best actor nod for Jon Hamm. Hamm is also nominated as...
