Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday was a bonkers sequel that took the simple masked slasher movie franchise to new heights (or new depths?). The early 90s film that attempted to end the franchise was hated by critics and very divisive with fans. However, now you can get the full story of what the creative people were thinking as director Adam Marcus recalls being a bright-eyed, fresh-faced film student who was given the keys to the kingdom and didn’t exactly know what to do with the newly purchased property from New Line Cinema. The trailer for Hearts of Darkness: The Making of The Final Friday is now here.
Marcus has spoken directly with fans as he announced that the documentary is “almost 2 hours long.” The Blu-ray edition will feature “another 2 hours of goodness that we could not fit in a theatrical feature film! Oh yeah! We’ve got...

A documentary covering the 1993 Friday the 13th sequel Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (Watch It Here – OWN It Here) has been in the works for quite a while, and about eight months ago Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus took to social media to give a promising update on its progress, saying that it was about to go through the color timing and sound mixing stages of post-production. It has been longer than expected, but now Marcus has given another update, letting fans know that the color timing and sound mixing are finally happening this month.
Before the week began, Marcus wrote, “The doc just went through legal and has been approved. Which means we are officially Locked! This means the film is completed from an editing stage and we’ve taken all the steps to ensure that the film meets all the standards to be released.

Director William Friedkin (who passed away earlier this year) made a lot of great films, including Best Picture winner The French Connection and one of the best horror movies ever made, The Exorcist. One you don’t hear referenced very often is the serial killer thriller Rampage, which had trouble making its way out into the world and was a project where Friedkin felt he had missed the mark, as the finished film wasn’t close enough to his original vision for it. But now Kino Lorber is showing Rampage some of the respect it’s been lacking over the decades, as Blu-ray.com reports they’ll be giving the film a 4K Uhd release sometime in early 2024.
Scripted by Friedkin and based on a novel of the same name by William P. Wood, Rampage delves into the subject of legal insanity, so often the default defense in modern-time gruesome crime trials.

Critters is a 1986 American science fiction horror comedy film written and directed by Stephen Herek. It stars Dee Wallace, Scott Grimes, M. Emmet Walsh and Billy Zane.
The plot of the movie follows four small alien creatures, which were accidentally brought to Earth from their home planet by a space probe, as they wreak havoc on a rural Kansas town while being pursued by an intergalactic bounty hunter. Along the way, they meet up with Charlie (Grimes), his brother Brad (Billy Zane) and the local police chief (Walsh). The critters must evade capture and find a way back home before their appetite for destruction leaves the town in ruins.
The special effects used for the Critters range from puppetry to robotics. They have been described as “fuzzy rodents with razor-sharp teeth and an appetite for human flesh”. Although initially thought of as evil creatures that only wanted to cause mayhem and harm people,...

And today Wallace spoke a bit about what enticed her to return to the franchise all of these years later for director Bobby Miller's Critters Attack!.
"I was so happy when they sent me the reboot of Critters. My first question was is this going to be CGI? And they said no, [they] were going to use a lot of the original design of the puppets. It's all going to be puppets. And I went, 'oh, let me read the script.' I liked the script, and I liked my part in it - she's a real ball-buster - but my first concern was if this was going to be CGI. Because in a film like that,...

Five Easy Pieces
Written by Adrien Joyce (Carole Eastman)
Directed by Bob Rafelson
USA, 1970
Five Easy Pieces follows along an existential strain of American cinema that began with films like The Graduate (1967) and Easy Rider (1969), where, in the latter example, two men went looking for America and, as its tagline states, couldn’t find it anywhere, and continued through the vehement introspection that emerged from the tormented minds of Martin Scorsese’s anti-heroes, like Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver [1976]) and Jake La Motta (Raging Bull [1980]). Somewhere in between these two manifestations of anguish is Jack Nicholson’s Robert Eroica Dupea, the main character of Bob Rafelson’s 1970 feature. Disenchanted with life and the people who surround him, and utterly aimless in his restless, insatiable quest for self-contentment, Bobby is continually disheartened by the realization that his ideals of happiness and unhappiness don’t apply to everyone else, and may not even be applicable to himself.

She’s been fielding questions about her rumored relationship with Brooklyn Beckham for months, and last night (September 22) Chloe Moretz found herself in the hot seat yet again.
While chatting with Andy Cohen and Billy Bush on “Watch What Happens Live,” the “Hugo” hottie revealed that she doesn’t like to label her status with her gentleman caller.
A caller asked Moretz if she and Beckham are “more than friends,” to which Chloe replied, “That’s naughty! That was a naughty question!”
And after stalling a bit, she continued, “Um, I don’t know. He’s a very good guy. He’s a good person. I enjoy hanging out with him.”
Andy kept going, asking Moretz if she was reluctant to “put a label” such as “boyfriend” on their relationship. Chloe smiled as she answered, “Maybe.”
As for Brooklyn’s mom Victoria Beckham, Chloe is a huge fan- “She’s an amazing person.

Howard Stern was tasked with delivering the eulogy at Joan Rivers’ funeral on Sunday, and as the iconic comedian would have wanted, he was unfailingly irreverent.
Howard Stern's Eulogy For Joan Rivers
Stern began his eulogy with a joke about the 81-year-old Rivers’ vagina, deadpanning, “Joan Rivers’ only problem was that she had a dry vagina.” He then added, “Whitney Houston’s bathtub death would’ve been averted if her vagina was that dry because it would’ve sucked up all the water and she’d have floated.”
The shock jock’s joke duly shocked those in attendance to say goodbye to Rivers,’ whose own brand of humor was often raunchy and at times polarizing. It was a commonly held belief following the funeral that the proceedings were as Rivers would have wished – a celebration of life filled with laughs.

NBC announced this morning Matt Lauer will host Going For Gold — and yet, it’s not a Sochi Olympics walk-up. It’s a celebrity-studded walk-up to the network’s broadcast of the Golden Globe Awards, is an NBC News production, and will air Friday at 8 Pm. If it’s Sochi Olympics walk-up you’re looking for, NBC will broadcast Shaun White: Russia Calling on January 25 — an hour-long program examining how the two-time gold medal winner balances work and play while prepping for the Games. It is not produced by NBC News, instead by Shaun White Enterprises, with Shaun White exec producing, and promises, modestly, to be “a rare inside look into the challenges and sacrifices that are made in order to be the best in the world.” From NBC’s Going For Gold announcement: Golden Globe nominees Bradley Cooper and film director David O.
