I don't know if it's going to be exciting as it sounds, but this $8 mill movie (which already had one make in 1963) is being adapted from Alexander Belyayev's novel by Sergei Bodrov (Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan). Bavaria Film Partners, Trikita Entertainment and Lumiq Studios are teaming for an $8 million English-language film adaptation of Alexander Belyaev’s 1928 sci-fi novel "Amphibian Man" reports Screen Daily.

Using the latest underwater filming technology, the story will tell of a child who whose maverick scientist father performs a life-saving transplant on him - a set of shark gills.

The experiment is a success but it limits the young man's ability to interact with the world outside his ocean environment.

"Mongol" filmmaker Sergei Bodrov is penning the project which will be shot in Germany, Italy and Malta. However no cast or director is yet set.

Vladimir Chebotaryov and Gennadi Kazansky helmed a previous adaptation in 1962.

Alrighty, kids! Time to get out the old calendar and make some quick adjustments... Warner Brothers has spaced out its genre offerings, The Seventh Son and Beautiful Creatures, and we've got the word on when you'll be able to see each of them. Dig it!

Beautiful Creatures, starring Viola Davis, Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann, Jeremy Irons, Margo Martindale, Zoey Deutch and Kyle Gallner, will now open in theaters on February 15, 2013.

VancouverFilm.Net reports that principal photography continues on director Sergei Bodrov's Vancouver-lensed, Warners/Legendary fantasy action feature "Seventh Son", based on the book "The Spook’s Apprentice" by author Joseph Delaney.

As VancouverFilm first reported in its March 2012 film production update, the new movie started shooting March 19.

Last spring, we reported Jeff Bridges’ casting in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ big-screen adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s young adult series The Last Apprentice (aka The Wardstone Chronicles in the UK). Now, we have official news from Warner Bros. Pictures that production has begun on this project, titled The Seventh Son, which also stars Julianne Moore and Ben Barnes and have a first look at concept art for the film.

Since that time, virtually nothing has been heard about the fantasy action adventure that stars Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart) as an aging knight. With production currently underway, Lionsgate and Warner Bros. have finally offered a few more clues about the movie, releasing a detailed plot synopsis and a piece of concept art reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings.

And to celebrate (or whatever) Legendary has released some concept art for the film! It certainly gives it that Lord Of The Rings vibe doesn't it? As previously reported, Seventh Son stars Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, Oscar nominee Julianne Moore, and Ben Barnes. The film's international cast also includes Alicia Vikander, Antje Traue, Olivia Williams and Kit Harington. Legendary Pictures has revealed concept art from the upcoming supernatural thriller Seventh Son, starring Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.  It's not ominous, however, it does give us an idea of the film's scope.

Today sees the release of "The Hunger Games," the much anticipated adaptation of the popular young adult novel series about a future in which children are forced to compete in a fight to the death for the entertainment of the upper class, and to help their district fight off starvation. Alex Garcia and Alex Hedlund will oversee the fantasy flick for Legendary, and the project will fall under Legendary's overall agreement with Warner Bros.

Legendary is currently producing Sergei Bodrov's Jeff Bridges project Seventh Son. The company's upcoming releases include Wrath of the Titans, The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, Godzilla and Jack the Giant Killer.

Variety is reporting that "Shameless" star Emmy Rossum is the latest actress to join the cast of the supernatural love story "Beautiful Creatures." She'll play the villain in the film. "Beautiful Creatures" also stars Viola Davis, Emma Thompson and Jack O'Connell.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Russian director Sergei Bodrov’s adventure pic The Seventh Son is set to start shooting next month in Vancouver.

The film stars Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Kit Harington, and Alicia Vikander.

Formerly known as The Spook's Apprentice, the tale is adapted from Joseph Delaney's young adult series about a teen who's the seventh son of a seventh son and learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook.

Harington is in final negotiations to join a cast that already includes Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander.

The boys over at Cinemablend decided to take photos of the concept art on display at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for upcoming Warner Bros. films (you know, the panel for three non-comic films that aren't even shot yet). One of the two projects is Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost, the Bradley Cooper-starrer that will be shot using motion capture technology. The project tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, and will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D. Inside you'll find the concept art featuring some of the rough terrains being conceptualized. Also shared with the Comic-Con audience was art for Sergei Bodrov's The Seventh Son, starring Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Ben Barnes and Alicia Vikander. Barnes will star as "Tom Ward"....

It’s day two of Comi-Con International 2011 and Screen Rant – on little to no sleep or food – is invading the panel scene on the film side of this year’s big event. Today marks the first ever time Legendary Pictures hosts a panel for their own upcoming projects and they’re kicking it off with a presentation covering Pacific Rim, Seventh Son, Paradise Lost and last but certainly not least, Mass Effect.

We've heard of planning ahead, but this is getting ridiculous! Buy a 2013 calendar now, kids, and mark February 15th as the date Warner Bros. will release Legendary Pictures' The Seventh Son. Assuming, of course, those pesky Mayans are wrong about the world ending in 2012.

Ben Barnes (pictured right; Dorian Gray, The Chronicles of Narnia) landed the starring role opposite Oscar winner Jeff Bridges in this adaptation of Joseph Delaney's young-adult series. Barnes will play Tom, the young apprentice to an exorcist (Bridges) who combats ghosts and witches in the 1700s. The pair must battle the queen of evil (Julianne Moore) as Tom falls for a young witch (Alicia Vikander).

Sergei Bodrov is directing; Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk, Legendary's Thomas Tull and Lionel Wigram are producing; and Jon Jashni and Alysia Cotter are exec producing.

Production begins September 13th in Vancouver.

Screen Gems and Sony Pictures are going to invade Hall H of San Diego Comic Con 2011 on Friday, July 22. From 1:30-2:30 P.M., the former will present a panel for an anticipated new sequel of "Underworld" film series, "Underworld 4: New Dawn", and upcoming limited release "Attack the Block".

Later at 4:00-6:30 P.M., Sony will bring its potential box office films namely "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance", "Total Recall" and "The Amazing Spider-Man", as well as comedy "30 Minutes or Less" to the 6,000-seat hall. Slated to attend the event are such lead actors as Nicolas Cage, Colin Farrell, Andrew Garfield and Aziz Ansari.

It seems that every day the rest of this week, Comic Con International will reveal the schedule for another day of the event. It feels like it was just yesterday I was pouring over this year's Thursday schedule at San Diego Comic-Con to put together The Discerning Film Nerd's Guide to the best programming.

Wait, that wasn't yesterday, that was like three hours ago. Boy, time sure doesn't fly when you're missing out on Comic-Con.

Anyway, Comic-Con's Friday schedule is now up as well and once again I've poured over it to bring you the most intriguing looking panels. Remember that I don't include anything from Hall H, which is a whole other beast, although I were ever going to wait in line for three hours in the hot San Diego sun behind a dude in a Chewbacca mask who smells like feet, Friday would be the day I did it. First glimpses of the "Spider-Man" reboot, Soderbergh's "Haywire," and Nicolas Cage and Neveldine/Taylor's "Ghost Rider?" I'm ready to startin hitchhiking...

Though The Avengers, Batman and Superman are more than likely not going to be swinging into San Diego Comic-Con this year, Spider-Man will be out in force. It seems like San Diego Comic-Con 2011 is right around the corner, and it's going to be one hell of a glorious weekend of geek awesomeness. Comic-Con International has unleashed the full schedule for Friday July 22nd, once again we have a full day of fun and excitement. There's so much I want to see here, including The Amazing Spider-Man, The Walking Dead, Total Recal, Batman: Year One, Locke & Key, Haywire, Raven and more!

I've gone through the list and put exclamation points next to all of the events that we want to cover. Let us know what panels and events you would like to know about and we will try and get them covered for you! If you are actually going to be at the con, what will you be checking out?

And they said Comic Con 2011 wouldn't be exciting.  I'm not entirely sure who "they" is, but I know people were saying it!

The mere fact that Legendary Pictures is coming to Comic Con is pretty amazing.  Legendary has produced many geek favorites over the years, from The Dark Knight to Watchmen to 300.  Yet they had never before made an appearance at the San Diego Comic Con.  But now, arguably the year that studios are turning their back on Comic Con, Legendary is making its long awaited appearance.  And its bringing a couple friends with it.

Legendary Pictures panel will begin Friday, July 22.  Moderated by Geoff Beoucher of the Los Angeles Times, the film will focus on four films in particular:

-Pacific Rim, the monster movie from Guillermo del Toro.  Actors Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Rinko Kikuch will be there, as well as writer Travis Beacham and Guillermo del Toro himself.

Most film panels at this year's San Diego Comic Con are for films opening later this year, while a few are for movies in the first half of 2012.

Now, Legendary Pictures is breaking out on its own (rather than combining with Warner Brothers) and will provide their first ever standalone panel for four films, all of which won't likely hit the multiplex until 2013.

"Pacific Rim" will have a panel with director Guillermo del Toro, writer Travis Beacham and cast members Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, and Rinko Kikuchi.

"Seventh Son" will have Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander and director Sergei Bodrov showing up.

Bradley Cooper and director Alex Proyas will do a panel about their ambitious planned adaptation of Milton's "Paradise Lost".

Finally, and most unexpectedly, writer Mark Protosevich and "Mass Effect" game creator Casey Hudson will talk about the proposed film adaptation of 'Mass'.

Taylor Lautner is going to be present at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con 2011 that will take place on July 21 until July 24. While it was expected that Taylor will be part of "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" panel, it has been announced by Lionsgate that the 19-year-old actor is going to promote his upcoming action film "Abduction" at their booth (#3729) on Thursday, July 21 for a signing session.

Beside "Abduction", Lionsgate will also bring their upcoming movie "Warrior" to the convention. To represent the film, two main stars Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy are set to show up on Friday, July 22 at 1-2 P.M. On the same day, Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols and Stephen Lang will be at the "Conan the Barbarian" front from 5-6 P.M.

Also at this year's Comic Con, Legendary Pictures will hold its first panel ever. The company will bring Guillermo del Toro-directed giant...

Yes, you are going to start seeing more and more Comic-Con news because the incredible geek event is only a few weeks away, and we're all extremely excited about it!

Legendary Pictures has announced their panel line-up for their first ever Comic-Con presentation. They've got a great line-up of films that they will be showcasing which includes Pacific Rim, Seventh Son, Paradise Lost, and Mass Effect. Who knows, maybe we'll see some surprises with Man of Steel or The Dark Knight Rises even though they aren't on the list? We can always hope.
