After many accolades with nominations and awards from around the globe, “Beneath Us All” is moving from the festival circuit to VOD & physical media from Painted Creek Productions and Deskpop Entertainment.

Closing out with a fantastic win at The International Horror Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio ‘Beneath Us All’ was crowned Best Horror Fantasy Film, plus the film had nominations for Harley Wallen as best Director and Kaiti Wallen for best lead actress in a feature film.

Even in a generally well-liked horror franchise like Slumber Party Massacre, there is still that one entry that fans do not rally around as much as others. And among the four films produced so far, Sally Mattison’s Slumber Party Massacre III is routinely slept on. However, this series’ third depiction of a sleepover gone terribly awry not only brings back the harshness of the original film, it also delivers an unusual perspective.

The first slasher trend had all but ended by 1990, but unseasonableness has never stopped a producer like Roger Corman. And as with the previous Slumber Party Massacre films, the third was directed and written by women, including a script by the late Catherine Cyran. This rushed, micro-budget film works from the same familiar prompt; a male assailant stalks and kills hapless, scantily clad women as they gather for what should have been a night of fun and play.

About two and a half years have gone by since it was announced that Jordan Peele would be producing a remake of Wes Craven‘s 1991 film The People Under the Stairs (watch it Here) – but while we wait to see if that announcement is going to lead anywhere, Scream Factory is set to give Craven’s film a 4K Uhd release on May 23rd. A few months ago, Deskpop Entertainment gave a digital and VOD release to director Harley Wallen’s “raw and violent” urban legend thriller Ash and Bone. Now Deadline reports that Deskpop has also picked up the worldwide distribution rights to Wallen’s vampire film Beneath Us All, which stars Sean Whalen and Yan Birch. Back in 1991, Whalen and Birch played Roach and The Stairmaster, respectively, in the Wes Craven film The People Under the Stairs (watch it Here). Deskpop hasn’t announced a release date for Beneath Us All yet, but they’re planning to send it out into the world sometime in “early 2023“. So they’ll need to move fast to reach that goal.

Scripted by Bret Miller, Beneath Us All centers on Julie, a foster child heading for her 18th birthday. She finds an item buried in the woods with something unspeakable inside.

Banijay has taken full control of Mythbusters firm Beyond International and intends to rename and rebrand the Australian outfit as the “necessary integration process” kicks off. The circa-30M acquisition was first revealed in October last year, giving the acquisitive French powerhouse control of an 8,000-hour catalog including factual hits such as Highway Thru Hell, Heavy Rescue: 401, Massive Engineering Mistakes, Halifax: Retribution and Deadly Women. The move leaves distributor Banijay Rights, which shops the likes of MasterChef and Big Brother, with a circa-130,000 hour catalog. Today, Banijay took full control and a spokeswoman said the intention is that “[Beyond’s] distribution activities will fall under Banijay Rights’ name.” The acquisition was carried out via a Scheme Implementation Deed which, once implemented, means Beyond ceases to be publicly traded. Exclusive: The Deer Hunter star John Savage is among cast for domestic abuse drama Finding Nicole, based on Chris Cuomo-fronted CNN doc Inside Evil – Until Death Do Us Part.

The film will chart the true story of Nicole Beverly (Kaiti Wallen) and her family with the focus on her domestic abuse case and how she overcame violence.

The rights were attained by director-producer Harley Wallen (Eternal Code) of Painted Creek Productions, according to Wallen’s attorney Bill Dobreff.

Savage will play the hard-nosed judge presiding over the case. Also starring will be Kelli Maroney (HBO’s True Blood), Brandon Quintin Adams (The Sandlot), Vida Ghaffari (Eternal Code), Blanca Blanco (Betrayed) and Yan Birch (Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs).

Silent Partners has just unveiled the first look poster and new stills from the upcoming feature Blind, the highly anticipated new horror thriller by Blood Feast remake director Marcel Walz.

Blind follows Faye (Sarah French), a former actress that lost her vision due to botched laser eye surgery, struggles to put her life back together while living alone in her dream house in the Hollywood Hills.

STXfilms has moved Chadwick Boseman’s action-thriller “17 Bridges” out of the crowded summer and into the early fall, swapping its July 12 release date for Sept. 27 in North America.

“Black Panther” star Boseman is producing and starring in “17 Bridges.” Brian Kirk, whose credits include “Luther” and “Game of Thrones,” is directing from a script by Adam Mervis.

Boseman will portray a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him.
